@@jtlego1That makes sense. When I do my joke impersonations to myself (yes, I do that, go to hell), most of my attention goes to that. Jumpscares are most effective when your attention is diverted. Despite what people might tell you, there is _some_ art to making effective jumpscares.

At around 15:00 he misses an event that isn't a jump scare. It's a woman standing in the door past the kitchen, then she closes it
I find it hilarious that this game gives you the impression that, like most other horror games, it will start easy by just throwing some odd anomalies at you on your first night, like weird noises or stoves that turn on by themselves. But nope, it just goes from 0 to 100 immediately 😂

PIZZA JUMPSCARE
Couldn't agree more with Vinny. That first scare was beautifully done, right away without build up, and whilst doing a simple, yet absorbing task. Then it became a murder mystery. Had they just continued with the pizza making aspect and then ramped up the scares it would have been so much better.
i saw the clip on twitter so icame to check out hte rest of the vod, and yeah i can't agree more, this game would have been so much more fun if it was "try to just make normal pizza in a haunted pizzaria" without all the mafia familly mystery stuff
@@Kevinblue035 yeah I don't know why these game creators think they need to create some massively overcomplicated and elaborate story. Simple absorbing tasks, and well timed scares are enough. I mean the other recent scare from Vinny was in Leathal company, which can be quite creepy, but all liamlicious did was crouch and laugh when Vinny was trying to scare others. Simple scares can be best.

Part of me was wishing that this was a true pizza horror where you just get asked to make more and more horrific pizza where it climaxes at making a pizza with just pineapple, no cheese, sauce, or dough.
I have to say seeing this game in full I'm kind of disappointed that it doesn't fully commit to the bit. Working a late shift, making pizza, spoops happen, feels like a good recipe but the constant phone calls about the lore/intrigue are just not doing it for me, neither are the more scripted sequences.
Weird because FNAF feels like a bit of an influence but in those games (despite the hundreds of lore videos on youtube) the story isn't really a major factor, and doesn't interrupt the gameplay where most of the scares happen.
i think this game should be more like mortuary assistant, which is what i thought it would be. having to cooka da pizza while the ghabaghoul spooka da chef would be interesting, fun, spooky and probably pretty funny.
there should be an option to yell at the spook in Italian, maybe as a duel type deal

@@VenoMantis I don't know... besides the initial premise, it didn't feel tongue and cheek enough for that. The pizza horror is really secondary to the paranormal plot, it could have been set in any kind of restaurant and nothing would change--it moreso makes me think "pizza place horror game" was just an easy hook, rather than this being a legitimate attempt at a comedy horror.
Also, No Delivery begs to differ in pizza horror being inherently bad--look up Vinyort's playthrough if you haven't seen it, you'll be glad you did :]

@@MasterSquirrel993 I mean as far as I could tell the game makes no attempt to really put effort into anything. stock assets are just kinda haphazardly thrown together with a goofy plot to tie it together. it seemed more funny than serious. more-sincere games have been as cheaply made, but they tend to at least pick a setting that seems sensible as a "noob dev's first horror game" location like a run-down hospital. funny pizza place is like top 3 locations I expect a meme horror game to take place in. it's 'funny' and a little attention-grabbing.
Never watched No Delivery but from what I've seen it seems good. I think there's a notable gorge of difference between tapping into an old childrens' venue as a source of horror around such nostalgic locations and just going "haha spooky pizza place". I appreciate the rec and I'll look into it, maybe even see if my horror friend wants to try it. also maybe my bad for wording what I said so generally. obviously you can do it right. I just don't think this game was ever even going for it with any kind of sincerity. it's like banban.

I feel bad laughing at how scared Vinny got. But this is the same guy who played Gollum twice, despite saying he'd play Snackworld over Gollun. So perhaps this is justice.
My favorite thing about Heavy Rain is how in the first half of the game there are several ghostly possessions that are tied to the inciting incident of the story that are never explained and never happen again once the story gets going.
Because the game was originally suppose to be about ghosts and they changed it half way through development, so the story just ignores the ghosts.
That's now my 2nd favorite thing about that game and the first still belongs to 'Press X to SHAUN!'
@@SegmentW Yeah, originally, each playable character was suppose to have a dead sibling that would visit them in their dreams, and the killer was suppose to randomly be one of them.
Then they dropped the ghosts, and now there are two glaring plot holes. The ghostly possessions, and the game just lying to the camera, as one of the characters is now knowingly the killer, but their inner thoughts still have them wondering who the killer is, and risking their life to find evidence of the killer.
