My wife went to college in Florida and I went to college in Illinois. It was 1970. No Face Time. No Text. No Skype. Phone calls were $0.75 per minute. We mailed letters to each other almost every single day. I still have many of them. Short phone call, once a week. All this lack of communication pushed us to get married earlier. She passed away 9 months ago after 48 years of marriage. You are a cute couple. Love your energy.
5 years is a long time regardless to what you do especially for a man cuz most men will want to have sex and some random woman who give him some type of attention more likely he'll give in to now women can go for the most part for years but sometimes loneliness sets in all of us and we want some type of affection some type of intimacy even if it's for a moment we might regret it but five years entirely too long to be in a long distance relationship and not expect one or the other to have gotten intimate with someone else
I’m in one that’s about 4,000 miles and 7 hours apart (but he’s a pilot, so sometimes we’ll be only an hour or two apart, depending on where he travels to). He lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands and I live in the U.S.
I was in a long distance relationship with my now husband for 3 years. I lived in Kazakhstan and he was in USA. We survived 14 hour difference and god knows how many kilometers. We are married now and I have moved to USA 8 months ago. If both people want to do it it is possible. But it is super hard and definitely not for everyone.
My boyfriend's love language is physical touch and we've been in a long distance relationship for 1.5 years (75% of our relationship). It's not so much about the "right" love language as finding the right person and integrating each love language into your everyday. Saying things like "Imagine me holding your hand" and making tangible gifts (like a blanket or pillow) really helps with the physical touch over distance!
A little motto I made up for me & my boyfriend while we’re doing long distance is “an ‘I love you’ a day keeps the sadness away” because not only does it just make us both happier to hear that from the other person each day, it also reminds us that the other is being faithful because neither of us would say it if it wasn’t true
OMG i cant belive this is such a coincidence. I am getting married in 3 months to the guy whom i met in a library for the first time. We have been in a LDR for 2 years and now we are engaged. Everything you guys talked feels so similar so parallel to whatever happend in my life. I wish you both great life ahead. Cant wait to see your videos on your wedding preps. Keep smiling the both of you.
Sadly I don’t have a video not really her thing but I’m gunna try push her to do one with me as I find these type of videos inspirational. However I do have the first time I met her face to face on video if you guys are interested in seeing ill upload it
Me and my partner also did long distance for 5 years while he did his undergrad in NYC and I did in Colombia. Now we’re doing grad school long distance from London to Edinburgh and have been together for 9 years. Definitely excited to see that you guys’ experience was pretty similar to mine!
I'm in the same boat, probably 10 years but we still together. This year plan on moving in together finally! But it is hard 😭 there's never a comfortable moment.
I’m 17 and me and my boyfriend have been together for 3.5 years, we are 5 hours apart from each other as he recently went to university. It’s difficult but worth it as he is the love of my life. People always ask me why we’re still together and whether I get bored and the honest answer is no. You have made me feel so much better about this difficult time and I can’t wait to see your wedding! ❤️
I'm in the exact same situation now. I'm 17 and mg boyfriend is going off to university in a few months. And I'm so scared about it! I hope things work out 💖
I’m in a long distance relationship and this video was soooooo amazing. Gave me so much reassurance. I just randomly found your channel and I’m for sure staying subscribed! Pleaseeee make more videos on this topic. I loved it.
I can relate to the point about the light at the end of the tunnel. My husband is not an America citizen and is from a country that Trump has banned. I live and go to college here, but he can’t be with me. So we have to travel to see each other, but most of the time we’re not together. What keeps us going is that one day the law will change and we will live together in this beautiful city.
You are such an inspiration because my cousin is getting married to an amazing guy who she met at a library and have been in an LDR for 9 years and are now getting married so that is awsome
Hi Lucie! My boyfriend of 5 years and I were in a long distance relationship for a total of 3 years - 1 year when he moved for a great job opportunity and 2 years when I moved for grad school. As you mentioned in the video, I think the root of our successful LDR was #1, we 100% wanted to stay together even through long distance, and #2, we totally trusted each other. Over time, we figured out the best ways to communicate with each other through long distance. I’d say that the toughest part was not being physically there with your partner when he or she is having a bad day or is going through a rough time. However, the strong communication skills that’s learned while apart really makes the relationship stronger and closer, even after both partners are back in the same city together :) One more thing I’ll add is that during our LDR, I’ve always felt that our relationship was amazing, even through the unideal circumstances
Anytime I watch videos about long distance relationships and I hope to get tips and tricks how to get through it but I like never get the things that fit into my situation bc my boyfriend lives in New Zealand and I live in Germany so obviously we can't see each other in person that often so im mean I have last seen him a month ago and I'll next see him in about 7 months 😕 and then it'll probably take another 7 months till I see him again. To anyone that is in my situation stay strong 💪🏻❤️ there is a way to get through it. I myself am pretty positive about this. Good luck to every LDR couple ❤️
Same situation for me, 3 years apart, 5 hour time difference and we only see each other once a year. It's incredibly hard and doesn't compare to living a few hours drive from each other. For me the hardest part is that people just don't understand it.
same I'm in the same situation with you, me and my boyfriend we met at school in England, and he was in y13 and i was in year 12 after finishing school he moved to university which he's currently studying in Abu Dhabi rn but he's orignially from Poland, which means that I can see him in Christmas which is in 3 months but only for a couple of days and maybe in the spring holiday and Summer if we're still together. we both trust each other a lot but the main issue is the distance and I just dont want to give up on him.
keen on being positive ! I'm currently in a similar situation dating an Australian while I'm living in South America. I know we won't see each other so often but in a couple years we'll be together. Hope you're also planning on something long term. Good luck :)
you’re the model I look up to, in my circumstances no one has been in a long distance relationship from my family and knowing I’m going to be apart from my bf for 4-5 years and seeing you guys make it gives me hope on my relationship, your advice was so incredible and will definitely come back to the video to remember the good things about long distance. Thank you sm!
My boyfriend and I are currently a part of the LDR club for almost 3 years now. You don’t understand how much I needed to hear such a fantastic video about a success story with great tips on living the LDR life! 💕 You are definitely my successful couple to look up to! 😊
My boyfriend and I are 3 years out of 5 long distance in college. It was great to hear your story and how you guys got through it! Only 2 more to go for me! So happy to see you guys made it through.
I have never seen someone else articulate so well why I think it's better to be in a long distance relationship while in college. I have had so much more room to explore and invest in myself as an individual, while still having the emotional support and stability of a long term relationship. It means that the time that I do spend with my significant other is more meaningful because we see each other during my school vacation, when we can actually give each other our undivided attention. Relationships are best when you want to be with the other person because you want to, not because you need to. Doing many things alone during this time in my personal development has allowed me to see that I am independent and capable of succeeding on my own and that I generally don't need anyone else, but I still want to be with my boyfriend.
I’m doing long distance right now. I met a girl on Facebook who lives in the US and I live in Canada. We realized we really like each other more than friend’s so we decided to do long distance. We’ve been together almost a year and a half now. We met in person once (she came to visit me) and let me tell you, it was the most amazing days of my life. I’m suppose to go visit her next year with my grandmother and her husband. Can’t fucking wait. Meeting her in person was, without a doubt, the most amazing experience of my life.
My bf and I currently in a LDR, studying in different countries (not too uncommon in Europe), which will last 6 years in total(if we stay together). It's incredibly hard for me since my love language is touch, but we make it work because the other person is more than worth it.
Same here we live in different countries of Europe and my studies last 6 years and I am currently in the third year of my degree. we are really good with my boyfriend! You can go through everything if there’s is mutual love❤️
My girl and I will be in a long distance relationship for 4 years, cuz we both are going to different colleges across the country, and I'm glad i was able to watch this video for advice.
I have been with my boyfriend for almost four years and we have been doing long distance for about two years. I cannot express to you how helpful this video was. And how true everything you said was. You are so inspiring. So happy for you both
i’m in a long distance relationship so far for 8 months, when i moved to pennsylvania from england, and he’s still in england, but i’m moving back in 3 months! but he’s going to uni which will be 4/5 hours drive away but it’ll be much better than 7 hour plane journey and 5 hour time difference!!! and this video really gave me confidence!❤️
This was so great hearing your story. My fiancé and I were only long distance for about a year and 6 months, but I agree that the moments we saw each other were that much more exciting and special. Living together, we also have struggled with how to make the every day moments together still special...but going for walks at the end of the day, or watching a favorite tv show together has been nice. All in all thanks for sharing!
My girlfriend left for college today. We’re both 19 and in all honesty, if I could marry that girl tomorrow I would. We agreed to make long distance work since we know that once those years are over, we’ll have the rest of our lives to be together. This video helped me so much. I’m just watching crying over how much I love her and how excited I now am to spend my life with her. You two have given me faith that with love and trust, we can make it work. Thank you both for giving me a couple to look up to ❤️❤️
Being someone who's been obnoxiously skeptical about LDR, you guys are seriously my holy grail to how im suppose to run this whole thing so thank you so so much for sharing your tips and knowledge. Here's to 2020 *toast*
Did long distance for 2 years while my boyfriend and I were in college and I honestly believe that being away from each other allowed us to grow individually. I loved this video and completely agreed with everything you said. Long distance is hard but it’s completely worth it for the right person.
My boyfriend and I (a month in two days) are in a LDR. We clicked immediately and alot of people would find it as too quick but it just feels right. We are going to be meeting each other in 16 days for the first time and this video was alot of help for us to learn how to keep this relationship going.
Wow! Your relationship is amazing. I can't imagine that you are in a long distance relationship for 5 years. It's not easy to be in that kind of relationship, but you are able to work it out. You're inspiring and I am so happy for you both.
Just watched your video and it made me emotional. I’m currently in a long distance relationship and I miss him really bad, but I know we both want to stay together, so that gives me hope. What’s more, after I graduate I’m planning to move to France to be close to him and so that we’re not separated anymore and your example makes me believe that we can overcome that and be happy together ❤️❤️
I almost started to cry at some point, this is a great story. I've never been in a long distance relationship, but everything you said works on non-long distance as well. You should always consider your feelings and the path that you're gonna take, if your s/o doesn't understand that, then he/she is not the right person for you. Than you for this video! :)
i can’t tell you how helpful and reassuring this video was!! my partner and i are going off to college soon and we for sure have this very special and very strong connection, but i just didn’t know of couples who lasted 4+ years apart. to see your ldr-not without it’s struggles, but also not excruciatingly painful every day-turn into an engagement is so reassuring and gives me so much more hope. congratulations and thank you both again so much for making this video and giving students like us hope!!!!
My year long bf lives in Alaska and I am from and live in NY. (Yes, we originally met in person) Thank you for sharing your story.. especially when sometimes people in an LDR don't get the support they may need.
Loved this video! My boyfriend and I have been LDR for 1.5 years. We were close friends for a year and then 2 weeks before he moved to Denver CO we realized we had feelings for each other. I tried to move out there but got a job offer from my dream company to take me to Indianapolis. He was 100% supportive of me making a move that was better for myself and my career. All relationships need to be built on communicating and trust but DEFINITELY ldrs. Loved this video! Also helps reading the comments and seeing other people in long ldrs and being successful. For some reason people around you not in a ldr love to give their opinions about why it won’t work and “aren’t you worried he is cheating”.
I was in a long distance relationship for 4 years and watched a lot of tip videos and felt like they were based on an assumption of lack of trust or that it is SOOO hard but I think you both hit the nail on the head with what it actually feels like and the pros and cons about it. I'd love to hear more about the transition to being together/living together after long distance as that is where I am now and it sounded like you were touching on those experiences about making it feel special after being used to every time you were together being a huge event. Thank you for your honesty!
I'm about to star a LDR with my long term bf and I was so scared .... this video came just in time to calm my nerves, now actually i'm kind of excited. Thank you so much guys, you are couple goals af!
Thank you for publishing this video! I have been in a LDR for a while. As a senior high school student, this is very helpful! This video gives useful insight in having an LDR in this stage of life, especially the advice that one should have a greater focus of making the most out of college life. Since there are few to no LDR videos that describes how to sustain a long distance relationship in high school and college, I am thankful that this video is here for young adults that need to adapt into this kind of life. Hope this can benefit others like me, and I'm excited to see more videos from you!
Hello everyone ✌ I'm so excited to share this testimony on how i got my ex back after a divorce with the help of ola Ogaga I never knew that i was going to get my ex back and my relationship restored until a friend of mine introduced me to ola Ogaga who helped me get my ex back and restore my relationship, I have been living happily with the love of my life for 2 years now. You can contact him for help also, here is his WhatsApp number+.2.3.4.9.0.6.9.3.1.3.9.5.5💌.OR Email him on drolaogaga@gmail.com
Both are very insightful and mature to be so young. I think that in itself is the reason they were able to successfully make the LDR last through their college years.
Lucie and Michael, this was AWESOME!!! Sam (my guy) and I have been together for almost 4 YEARS now (OMG... where'd the time go?!) and we are two years. Our timing is strangely arranged since neither of us has had the typical 4-year degree plan. Anyways, we started college at the same school but when I had to transfer for financial reasons, we couldn't let each other go. Our timing is pretty complicated, but to put it as simple as possible... we started long distance and went through 2 full years of it (including summers) and now have a nice long LDR break (Side Note: I want to start using this term! :P) before he moves super far away for his job. There is absolutely nothing for me career-wise where he will be going, and I am excited about my career too. So another stretch of long distance is inevitable. Although we didn't have specific role models to look up to, we knew this was possible and worth it (that confidence tip!) and I would argue that so much of our success in the LDR is attributed to many of the points you made in this video. I loved being able to connect with my own experiences in a mature LDR as I watched this video, and I am sure it is going to help many other people facing this challenge! xoxo!
@@PuzzleMessage Long distance for us started as students. I am now in my last year of school and he has graduated. Sam works retail for now, but he will be moving away for his next job within the next year or so.
Thank you so much for this video. I am a freshman in college and my bf is a senior in high school and long distance is definitely not easy. I loved how you mentioned that you just wanted to be with him and you knew it was the right thing. I feel that way about my bf and we are planning on getting married and like Michael said people look at me like I have three heads. but I love him and he is who I want to be with. I really enjoyed listening to your experience and it definitely helped me feel that 100 percent I made the right decision and that it will all work out.
My boyfriend and I met on a Disney cruise a year ago and will have to continue to be long distance for the next couple of years. Thank you for this video ❤️ so many of the things you said resonated with our story as well.
I'm really happy to find this video because when I talk to people around me who have had for long distance they think long is just one year and to listen to a couple who is doing five years and made it through is really inspiring and helpful. My boyfriend and I are on year one and a half and we're kind of going through a little Rocky Moment right now honestly I was feeling quite pessimistic until I watched this y'all have cheered me up considerably. and I agree it's very difficult to stay positive when you get everyone else around you looking at you like you're insane. thanks for posting such an encouraging video
My man and I have been distance for the last 10 months out of the 17 months we’ve been together. Seeing each other basically never is hard (international relationship) but it’s been really worth it. I definitely agree with all of your tips!! Literally each one is so on point!
This is spot on. I was in a relationship with my husband for 2 years. He was in England and I was in America. Communication and plans to look forward to were but a few things that strengthened our relationship
Naomi Dzunic I’m in a long distant relationship and we have been dating for 10 months now. I live in Canada and he lives in USA. Our time zone difference is 2 hours. I know that someone day in around 3 or 4 years, me and him are able to live together. However, it is devastating because 3 or 4 years is a really long time and I don’t know if at that point he will still be in love with me or not. I really love him and want to marry him hopefully one day. Therefore, can you please give me some advice because I am torn apart?
My boyfriend and I lived in neighboring states while I was in college. He had already graduated but I was stuck on campus until the weekends. It wasn't too far, maybe a 2 hour commute but thats really far enough when you're in college, needing to study and trying to connect to people on campus. We would also video call just about every night, falling asleep or eating on skype together. I'm sure my roommate thought we were just obsessed with each other but being so new in the relationship and not being together, it just helps soo much seeing them or talking to them when you can. Also, a lot of people gave me that look when I told them we'd be moving in together post-college, saying that everything was going to change, but I gotta say, I would rather live with him as opposed to anybody I met in college, including every roommate/ suitemate I've ever had lol Didn't change much at all and we truly love living together.
I love that you acknowledge that LDR’s can actually be a better sort of relationship to have if you’re in a busy time like college and you are planning on closing the gap eventually. When people ask me how I do long distance it’s always as if long distance is terrible. Of course I want to be with my boyfriend, but I also know that being long distance allows me to have time and space to pursue other things.
I was a grad student in NYC while my boyfriend lived in Atlanta. I’d fly once a month to visit him since my schedule was flexible. Spent a lot of time and money, but he helped contribute financially since I was a broke student and he was working. Now we both live together in Denver and I think that 1.5 years helped us grow even stronger ❤️ We still go through issues like everyone else, but long distance helped us learn how to be more independent.
I'm in an ldr for 1 year.... I met my bf online as complete stranger even we don't know how we fell in love but long story short we got past our inhibitions, fear and finally we took the leap of faith. Between us I was more doubtful about this because of obvious risks and also because of the fact that before meeting him I never believed in ldr and falling in love online but my feelings for wanting to be with him took over and I agreed to give this a chance and see where this takes us. I met him for the first time after being in a relationship with him for 5 months and when he was leaving we were both crying like anything. But we both want to spend our lives together we truly feel like yes this is it. Like you said you should have a light at the end of the tunnel. Yes we do face some issues but we both talk it out and we both are willing to work at it. We both are growing together and that is the best part. Well after watching your video I too will look up to you 😍😍 May God bless you both love you.... ❤️❤️❤️❤️
for me, it is 7 or 8 hours plane, we have been in a LDR for a year now and we are still together and i was xrying so hard because he left today and youtube just recommended this video for me! huh thanks! it just made me smile again because i found US in you
lucy!!! you have no idea how much this video helped me! i’m currently a freshman at parsons in nyc and my boyfriend since end of junior year is at school i’m florida so we are going through long distance. it’s definitely hard to get used to but everything you guys said just reassured me so thank u sm!
Awww this helped me SO MUCH. Just started doing LDR with my boyfriend was so scared but this truly brought me so much confidence in my relegation shop THANK U!!!
The story you guys have is beyond sweet! I love seeing how happy you guys are and how this started so young. I've been in two serious relationships, both of which were at least semi-long distance (first was North Carolina and Boston, second was Jersey Shore and Westchester, but neither of us drove, so we were a solid 3 hours from each other). Now, heading into my next relationship which is going to be very long distance because of both of our work schedules (I'm an actor and he's a flight attendant), it was SO refreshing to hear that you guys share a lot of the same perspectives I've garnered while thinking this through. As you said, having a couple to look up to is really helpful, and you guys always seem so picturesque (even though we all know that it's not always rainbows and butterflies), so I really appreciate the fact that you made this video and I'm stumbling upon it before I start making this change in my life. So excited to see where my life leads and to have someone to really see as a true potential end goal.
I resonate with you so much and your relationship is so strong! It's so refreshing to see two people who dated through highschool, were long distance in college and continue to have a great relationship! My bf and I have been dating for almost 4.5 years and have been long distance 3 and honestly it is very difficult at first. He is a year older than me and I was still in high school while he was 5 hours away in college and his parents even moved too so he didn't come home for breaks. But it DOES take a certain kind of person and couple to make it. We were both pretty mature in hs and when I first started dating him I didn't know where it would go but once he was going off to college I knew I didn't wanna date anyone else. Fast forward into college, we are both on college schedule and we get used to being apart but have plans to be together after school and it makes it ALL worth it. Thank you for telling your story and showing it is possible!!
i’ve been with my boyfriend for two years, LDR for 8 months, we’ve been doing very well honestly all the advice you mention is what we do (trust, communicate, etc..) it’s a very reassuring video ❤️
This video was fantastic and probably one of my favorite videos you've ever done. I've seen your videos for Refinery, the cute creative ones that are so usually diff. than these... I've always been one to be like NO WAY to long distance relationships but you really opened my perspective to it that if its the right person, anything esp. long distance CAN work out.
Thank you so much Lucie. I'm in a LDR now and it's been a learning curve for us both. But like you said, there really wasn't a question of "how do we do this " once we settled the question that we were determined to be together. Your pro tips were all spot-on. Thanks for your bright spirit.
I met my boyfriend last year in Canberra (I live in Perth) and met my current boyfriend (he lives in Sydney) so we are currently long distance. It is so hard but I’m sure it’ll be worth it in the end. Love this video ❤️
You guys are absolutely right! This is not for everyone and I wish I knew this when I had my LDR, unfortunately it wasn’t a good experience for me but I’m so happy to see that it worked for you guys. You are meant for each other ❤️❤️❤️
It's such a great video! 😍 You talked about everything my boyfriend and I also had in mind during the four years of our LDR while he was studying and there's nothing I can add 😄
We love Michael!!! This was such a heartfelt and honest video. Never been in an LDR but really insightful advice and nice to know regardless (life throws you for a loop sometimes!). Hopefully Michael makes another appearance soon because you guys have an awesome dynamic on camera and it was really neat to hear his perspective on things as well. Would love if you guys did a podcast talking about relationships (or any topic, really).
Great video!! I've been in a relationship with my boyfriend for about 5 months and we've been long distance almost the entire time. We are both active duty military members and 3,600 miles apart. We haven't been able to see each other again yet but I'll get to visit him for a week in a couple months. This video was very reassuring and just what i needed at the moment :)
Your story really really mirrors mine! Thank you for sharing -- its nice to hear from others who really understand what its like to be away from each other during college.
I am in a long distance relationship with a guy from Bulgaria and I from Denmark, 6 countries apart from each other and on the opposite sides of Europe. With him recently starting in university. Its hard at times, really is but this long distance relationship thing makes you learn so much more that you never knew you needed in the first place. We don't have the option to see each other anytime soon but we have discussed it most likely being next year, that is my light and whats keeping me going. On so many levels our relationship is shaking atm and god I want him, I want him to be mine so bad despite all the bad stuff we have ahead of us, he's everything I want in my life truly I can't imagine life without that spirited soul that I have known and come to love for a year and a half now. I will do everything in my right power and heart to keep us together and work as a long distance couple and finally one day see those dark brown eyes for myself.
Such a good and splendid example of balance! What a magnificent love you guys have🖤 thank you for sharing something that is beyond real and I thought was tales, so so happy for you two, good vibes 😘
My now-husband and I were in an LDR for the whole year we were engaged, and my primary love language fluctuates between physical touch and words of affirmation. It was really tough, and I think I had a tougher time than my husband, but we made it! Trust and communication were HUGE and my biggest thing that helped me was focusing on the positives. If I only focused on how much I was missing him and how things were before we went long distance, it made it a lot harder to get through to the next time I got to see him. If I focused on the enjoyable things going on around me where I was and the nice experiences we did get to share over Skype, text, or calls, it was way easier. Just my two cents! I love hearing LDR success stories because people are always so incredulous about how successful they could ever be.
How sweet. A lot of people look for a love like this. I hope you are doing well after your wife’s passing. God bless you ✨
AWE :( condolences! I WISH YOU BOTH THE BEST ♥♥♥
What a lovely story ♥️. The power of your love is beyond all obstacles ✨. Love never dies... Always in your heart.
ldr is much easier when ur a 5 hour drive away, id drive every weekend, my situation is a 15h plane trip :(
PA same, its hard, but is even more exciting once you get to see your SO after a long time.
Mine is 8h30
Same mine is a 11h plane trip
My 34 hrs by plane
PA mine is a 9 hour drive and my parents don’t know :/
Struggle is real, 10 000km distance and 7h time difference and we are still here, 2years after
Martina Matas I’m in the same boat, 7 hour difference 7,000 km apart.
Jesus, I'm about to start an LDR with 10k miles and 6 time zones (I'm Italian, she's American).
Do you guys have an end date?
I am in the same boat. Both Italian but I am in US and he is in Italy. It has been almost 1 year now and it is so hard.
I’m in one that’s about 4,000 miles and 7 hours apart (but he’s a pilot, so sometimes we’ll be only an hour or two apart, depending on where he travels to). He lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands and I live in the U.S.
@@SarahDoodleDoo same boat to 7hour difference 13,713km apart
It’s so sweet how Lucy is full of energy and Michael is so calm! You guys complement each other
The boyfriend looks like Novak Djokovic (he's a tennis pro)
@@chaospotato5511 Whole world knows that Novak is from Serbia.
ChaosPotato definitely from Serbia! But he does look like him 😀
@@megfussell Yep, I agree! :D
Also a bit of Anthony padilla
ChaosPotato he is from SERBIA not Croatia! Ok?
Do a video about...*The adjustments both of you made from LDR to living together*
Yes, please!!
Lucie's dad driving her all the way to Vermont is the cutest thing ever!!!
You..got it lingy..💩 eat this
i love this, im not sure if youll see this but are you guys still together?
I'm currently in a long distance relationship...this video was a lot of help
Gypsy soul how is it going?
Hey, I hope u are doing good in your ldr,
A little motto I made up for me & my boyfriend while we’re doing long distance is “an ‘I love you’ a day keeps the sadness away” because not only does it just make us both happier to hear that from the other person each day, it also reminds us that the other is being faithful because neither of us would say it if it wasn’t true
In LDR for last 3 years
Got married one year ago
She is form 🇺🇸 and I am form 🇮🇳

OMG i cant belive this is such a coincidence. I am getting married in 3 months to the guy whom i met in a library for the first time. We have been in a LDR for 2 years and now we are engaged.
Everything you guys talked feels so similar so parallel to whatever happend in my life.
I wish you both great life ahead. Cant wait to see your videos on your wedding preps. Keep smiling the both of you.
I'm getting married in 3 months too!!! ldr for 3 years
Congratulations
If you think 500 miles apart is hard you should try 3380 miles apart and still going 4 years strong (UK/USA)
4950 miles here.
But I would say that distance is just a number of inconvenience, although it can't stop actual love.
You have a video?
Sadly I don’t have a video not really her thing but I’m gunna try push her to do one with me as I find these type of videos inspirational. However I do have the first time I met her face to face on video if you guys are interested in seeing ill upload it
Bradlea Mitchell that’s really cool let me know. I’m doing LDR myself from Alabama to Bangkok
Me and my partner also did long distance for 5 years while he did his undergrad in NYC and I did in Colombia. Now we’re doing grad school long distance from London to Edinburgh and have been together for 9 years. Definitely excited to see that you guys’ experience was pretty similar to mine!
How often fo you guys meet, once per year?
I'm in the same boat, probably 10 years but we still together. This year plan on moving in together finally! But it is hard 😭 there's never a comfortable moment.
Sovith Meas 10 yearsss holyyy cow HOWW 😭😭😭
I’m 17 and me and my boyfriend have been together for 3.5 years, we are 5 hours apart from each other as he recently went to university. It’s difficult but worth it as he is the love of my life. People always ask me why we’re still together and whether I get bored and the honest answer is no. You have made me feel so much better about this difficult time and I can’t wait to see your wedding! ❤️
I'm in the exact same situation now. I'm 17 and mg boyfriend is going off to university in a few months. And I'm so scared about it! I hope things work out 💖
your wedding?? he's married to someone else?
I’m in a long distance relationship and this video was soooooo amazing. Gave me so much reassurance. I just randomly found your channel and I’m for sure staying subscribed! Pleaseeee make more videos on this topic. I loved it.
all the best for your LDR x

I can relate to the point about the light at the end of the tunnel. My husband is not an America citizen and is from a country that Trump has banned. I live and go to college here, but he can’t be with me. So we have to travel to see each other, but most of the time we’re not together. What keeps us going is that one day the law will change and we will live together in this beautiful city.
This must be so hard! I'm praying for you that you'll be able to be with him again one day. 🌻
Yeah that 's messed up!
keep it up!
AniaPaula327 thanks so much for sharing your story! Seems like we had many similarities!!! Xx
Wow good on you, I am in the same situation. I am in NZ and my girlfriend in France.
tough tough but someone said for real love there's no time and no distance
I had a LDR with my bf, he is from LA and I’m from Spain.. now he’s moved to Spain with me and it’s the best thing ❤️
Omg, 5 years!!! That's a looong time! We were in a long distance relationship for 1 year, in Spain and Korea. Now we are married, so never again!
you’re the model I look up to, in my circumstances no one has been in a long distance relationship from my family and knowing I’m going to be apart from my bf for 4-5 years and seeing you guys make it gives me hope on my relationship, your advice was so incredible and will definitely come back to the video to remember the good things about long distance.
Congrats! It will go by so quickly :) xxx
How are you guys doing now?
@@jacobrocksxlx24 Moved in together, new jobs, new city, and ENGAGED!!
@@isabellac3598 this makes me so happy, congratulations to you both
I have never seen someone else articulate so well why I think it's better to be in a long distance relationship while in college.
YESSSSS 100%!!
You guys are literally the cutest couple ❤️
aww thank you so much!
Did anyone else notice pictures flash up for like a nano second?
Yep, at 6:20 and i Paused and slowed the speed down to 0,25 just to see it!

I really needed this ...
lately, have been feeling sad because I miss my fiance ... BUT thank God for modern technology and video calls!!!!
He's such a natural in front of a camera! Great video!! :)
"If you dont have a LDR model: You've got us"... well played... well played
4 years in LDR. It's possible!!
Same here we live in different countries of Europe and my studies last 6 years and I am currently in the third year of my degree. we are really good with my boyfriend! You can go through everything if there’s is mutual love❤️
@@antonella9713 I'm guessing you are Italian too! 4rd year of med school and he's in engineering school so we have little time and still make it work
I have been in a LDR for 2 years now and we love each other so much, thanks for sharing your beautiful story.Love you guys already🙂
My girl and I will be in a long distance relationship for 4 years, cuz we both are going to different colleges across the country, and I'm glad i was able to watch this video for advice.
Any updates?
I have been with my boyfriend for almost four years and we have been doing long distance for about two years. I cannot express to you how helpful this video was. And how true everything you said was. You are so inspiring. So happy for you both
i’m in a long distance relationship so far for 8 months, when i moved to pennsylvania from england, and he’s still in england, but i’m moving back in 3 months! but he’s going to uni which will be 4/5 hours drive away but it’ll be much better than 7 hour plane journey and 5 hour time difference!!! and this video really gave me confidence!❤️
This is literally going to be my situation starting this year... Thanks for the hopeful video :))
All in all thanks for sharing!
yes!!! love this, thanks for sharing your story :)
Thank you both for giving me a couple to look up to ❤️❤️
What ended up happening?
Thankyou Michael for showing up even though you may not like the camera... The video was amazing and so informative ♥️♥️♥️
You're inspiring and I am so happy for you both.
thank you!!
Thank you for posting this. Really honest and uplifting discussion about what a successful long distance looks like. Really happy for you guys!
Your love story is so ... BEAUTIFUL. I’m in awe
Yes! I'm about to marry my high school sweetheart after 3 years long distance and all this is so true!
Are you still at R29? I've been waiting for more videos, but I'm not sure if I'm missing something?
(Yes, we originally met in person)
Thank you for sharing your story.. especially when sometimes people in an LDR don't get the support they may need.
Thank you for your honesty!
ahhh good idea for a future video!!!
Hello everyone ✌
I'm so excited to share this testimony on how i got my ex back after a divorce with the help of ola Ogaga
I never knew that i was going to get my ex back and my relationship restored until a friend of mine introduced me to ola Ogaga who helped me get my ex back and restore my relationship, I have been living happily with the love of my life for 2 years now.
I loved being able to connect with my own experiences in a mature LDR as I watched this video, and I am sure it is going to help many other people facing this challenge! xoxo!
What kind of jobs do you guys have?
@@PuzzleMessage Long distance for us started as students. I am now in my last year of school and he has graduated. Sam works retail for now, but he will be moving away for his next job within the next year or so.
Congratulations! You're evidence that long distance relationships can work. Great video packed with practical information.
Would love to hear you talk about your experience of moving in together!!
Please do a video about your current relationship, how it improved with being engaged! Congrats!!
Lucie, you're so busy and into so many activities and you're so positive you're like Kim Possible.
Mark Dabrowski haha!
You guys are super cute, can't wait for you to get married 😘😘
I made it through a year and a half LDR and I support this message! :)
WOOHOO!!!
for me, it is 7 or 8 hours plane, we have been in a LDR for a year now and we are still together and i was xrying so hard because he left today and youtube just recommended this video for me! huh thanks! it just made me smile again because i found US in you
Thank you guys so much. You guys make me more confident that my LDR will work with my girlfriend. I love you guys
Haven't watched this yet, but the fact that it starts with "we were on a break" hooked me already lol, we all stan Friends
lucy!!! you have no idea how much this video helped me! i’m currently a freshman at parsons in nyc and my boyfriend since end of junior year is at school i’m florida so we are going through long distance. it’s definitely hard to get used to but everything you guys said just reassured me so thank u sm!
The way you two look at each other warms my heart.
Thank you so much Lucie. I'm in a LDR now and it's been a learning curve for us both. But like you said, there really wasn't a question of "how do we do this " once we settled the question that we were determined to be together. Your pro tips were all spot-on. Thanks for your bright spirit.
I’m so happy for you two! Yay for a wedding! 💖🇨🇦❤️☺️❄️
thank you! we are so excited for our wedding!!
3 words...cutest...couple...ever!!! 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍 ilysmmm
THANK YOU FOR WATCHING & FOLLOWING!
You guys have just helped me more than you know, thank ya'll so incredibly much.

Thank you. I needed to hear this. I’m literally in the same situation and everything you’re talking about is the exact same. This makes me happy
I'm crying
Did you stop working at R29?
