We just used ours to break out an old trailhead and then escape down the trail after Hurricane Helene trapped us in Western NC. We really pushed that tractor hard and she worked effortlessly to move big rock and down trees. Could not have gotten out without it.
I have a Yanmar 1500 D. I've had it for about 18 years and had to do some work on it but no complaints because your right it is a work horse. They are easy to work on. I have put it to the test of durability and fared out pretty good!
You can tell just by looking at them that they are a durable tractor, everything about them is completely over built. I have certainly enjoyed mine over the years!
We used a 1500D as a secondary aircraft tug for towing up to full size twin prop aircraft. With extra weights on both front and back, the low end torque could pull very well except with snow on the ground. It met it's end when an apprentice left it outside one night and it disappeared never to be recovered.
Just got my first Yanmar ! It’s a YM1300 and so far it’s a great tractor ! Just put a new FBK Assembly. Runs great and it has only 90 hours. It’s a 1978.
I’m still in the process of getting mine repaired and serviced I’m just about finished with it I got a few more things I need to do it for example ;new front tires 3 point hitch and some other small parts ; I got to drive it around a little bit and I I cant wait to actually use it to see what it can actually do from the videos you’ve posted it looks like yours has potential I hope mine will have the same great video as always
Sir, do you clean off any of the rust before you paint? I have an 82 YM 1810D with loader. I completely took the loader apart and striped down to bare metal to paint it. In the prices of doing that for the tires. As for the body, it has some very light rust in places and was wondering if I should just paint over em with rust o oleum farm green? Let me know what your thoughts are.
I recently bought a re-furbished 1976 Yanmar 1500D. It is in fine shape and I really like it. I want to make sure I maintain it correctly. Can anyone recommend appropriate brand/weight Engine Oil, Transmission Lube, Steering Gearbox (?) Lube. I acquired a re-print Yanmar service manual but it is not specifically for a 1500D and is not very clear on lube change procedures. I've looked quite a bit on line but the only thing that looks available is in Japanese.
I am looking to get a yanmar 1500d with front end loader for firewood hobby/business. Do you think a front end loader on the 1500d would be able to lift logs weighing 600-700 pounds?
I lifted pairs of wet locust logs, each about 14 feet long and 10" in diameter using the front loader no problem. Drove down a very bumpy twisty hilly rock road for 1/2 mile carrying them. Not sure about lifting 600 lbs. Dragging would be easy I bet.
Between hoye tractor, Fredrick’s equipment, and southern farm equipment, yeah there are tons of options out there, decent prices and lots of parts to be had! Thanks for watching!

Bought YM1500D , now rebuilding it. Much better than a lawn mower on steroids, these little things are real tractors.

Thanks for sharing. Nice work!!!
Nice little tractor. We bought a little homestead with 3 acres and I'm researching what equipment I need to mow the pasture and move things around.
I have one of these, can you get a root rake grapple for it anywhere?
Hey mate, I recently got myself a Yanmar ym14. I'm wondering if you might know if the ym14 and 1500 might be similar, engine wise??
Yes , Yanmar 1500D is the best off small tractor category !👌👍😊

You sound very Knowledgeable so I'll ask, is it possible to add a bucket to a YM1400? Thanks
You can add a fel but it's expensive better to find one already has it
