" ive put a lot of work into it" most underrated comment in the series. Humans have crazy potenal in this show that only the doctor ever seems to understand
Interesting how he handled the Atraxi differently from the Sycorax, he told the Sycorax to leave and Unit ended their existence before they could leave, but the Doctor told the Atraxi to run before Unit could do anything about them.
@@marshalc1574 the line is the same, when Harriet Jones said "leaving is good, never coming back is better" this is a clear callback to that sycorax episode
If you got some aliens like this you just need to make them believe our movies and mangas are our history mostly they will believe if they are too much ahead of us a it will be more logical to have the people know more about history than some entertainment 😂.
Kate L S: "[Something something] president of the earth" 12: "oh good vote for an idiot" Kate L S: "if you say so Mr President" 12: surprised pikatchu face
I am not sure how much of the world has alien technology but UNIT has a massive amount so I feel like they would be the one to listen to. Kate most likely was the one to convince the world leaders
idk why hbomberguy didn’t like this scene, like sure it’s illustrative of moffat’s shortcomings as a show runner, but it’s still awesome in isolation of that
It’s because in order to appreciate it, you HAVE to take it in isolation. Imagine just finishing the season before and it opens with this on the next one, where the doctor basically says “I’m so cool and scary, boo!” And then the villains leave.
@sundials5572 This was actually the first season I DID watch right after the last, cause my family got BBC America with Dish Network, and it was hype then.
6 billion was reached October 12th, 1999. 8 billion was reached November 15th, 2022. There is 31 years, 1 month, and 3 days in the time. This episode aired on April 3rd, 2010. 7 billion was reached Halloween of 2011. 6 billion was said to make it not a long sentence that accounts for the exact population.
I love that after all that buildup he stands there unarmed and akward and is still such a large threat as this is him realising what kind of person he is in this itteration
If the Doctor tells you to run, you fly. You teleport. You warp speed- you do whatever the hell you can do to get as far away from wherever it is he told you to run from and then you never so much as look back. He’s the Doctor of war for a reason after all.
i haven't watched dr who but i want to and 11 is by far (at least off of first impressions) my most favourite. partially because i do kinda act like him but also like he can say "Basically ... run." and be the goofiest goober that's ever lived in the next second... at least i'm judging off the vibes
My guess is most civilization in the universe have those happen sometime in thier history and laws would only apply to a planet at a certain level so since at this point we are only level 5 an back in slavery we were probably like a level 3 or 4 and we don't have a lot of Galactic travel and communications and what not so we can't be charged for it. It's kind of like how if a child steals a candy from a shop no one really makes a deal because they didn't know it was wrong and ended up correcting thier errors and *typically* don't make them aging and since as of today slavery and genocide is very very rare and is handled by local authorities it is not breaking law.
Raggedy man, the eleventh hour: The penultimate chime of the bell, as the hour of midnight approaches, like a phoenix ready to burn, not knowing it will rise again.
I'm new to this series I want to ask, the Dr has traveled to the future where the planet was destroyed by the sun meaning he knows he will always save the earth, why is he acting panicked?

no replies? impossible
Neat
1k likes in 10 hours is wild
Love that he essentially told them to get their butts back there so he could personally tell them to f off permanently 😅😂
I mean he spells it out rather plainly "Them leaving is good, them never coming back is better."

And I don't think we've ever seen the Atraxi since
Percect negotioation.
He first established the lack of motive to stay on earth and then established the cost of doing business on earth.
I'm like 90% sure the doctor was just trolling, because he realised he hadn't made an epic new face entrance
The doctor is beyond allah
Perfect intro for the new doctor
This episode is so good yeah
I think it’s one of the most popular doctor who episodes of all time
@@MessiOlly8 Every time I see a good episode I say this LOL
The first thing you notice is that he's unarmed. For some, it's the last.
is this world protected? Atraxi watch all episode of Dr. Who in seconds. I'm the doctor Basically... RUN!!!
NEGATUNDIO!
Wish I could chain watch a seires that fast. There are a LOT of good shows and books out there that ill never have the time to enjoy :(

When the Doctor tells you to run, you sprint.
No, you teleport 5000 lightyears away, especially if you threatened earth
@@LUNAR_LRDespecially if you harm his friends, you fucked at that point

Say what you want about matt Smith's doctor, but this scene was badass.
Matt smith had some of the best cheeky "you done fucked up" of course there were speeches of rage, but he always brought his own cheeky charm to them.
Have you ever thought that the doctor started off as the time lords equivalent to a kid stealing their parents old car for a cross country joy ride
Humanity leaders in doctor who are smarter than ours irl because they declared him the ruler of earth
Also helps that the doctor helped them go in the right direction
They kinda did in Capaldi era

Ya gotta give props to whoever decided to do a Doctor montage _in the _*_middle_*_ of the climax of the episode_ introducing the new Doctor.

All that drama to sport his face card in an epic trolling battle. 😂🎉👏👏👏
Doctor walks in, greets the patient, exchanges banter, Mic Drops, then walks out. “Well, that’s it for today. Who’s up for fish sticks and custard?”

The doctor teaching morals AND warnings to other aliens in the same breath and then saying humainity is his passion will always be cool
Best new Doctor intro of new Who
Nice to cast a main actor with tretcher Collins
The fatality index should still be counting
Do the atraxi not have a problem with like slavery or attempted genocide
No they literally just attempted genocide
Well no. They did just try to destroy an entire planet.
They’re probably concerned with only larger scale or inter civilization crimes.

The Doctor is kind of tragic. He hangs out on earth because his people look and are very much like the timelords
Biblically accurate atraxi
Basicly run
What's this show or movie called? Could somebody tell me?
I'm new to this series I want to ask, the Dr has traveled to the future where the planet was destroyed by the sun meaning he knows he will always save the earth, why is he acting panicked?
You can only tell how old the show is by the comment, “6 billion people live here”
"I don't give a sh##."
*Invades*
How does he deal with things he’s just got a screwdriver
And compare this to Dr who now.
Same thing. Protecting earth. Stopping aliens. Solving crimes.
It's not changed. It's just stopped veiling it's progression
What is that garbage title? "A doctor"?! The hell? The man is THE Doctor.

I've seen a lot of Dr who shows. Wich one is this specifically from what is the series
