I have raised rabbits in the past as pets, so I know how to care for them and am aware of how to brush their fur and care for them. I live on a homestead and am interested in adding angora rabbits and their fur to something I have to offer to sell (the fiber) Im very interested in learning to weave, rugs and blankets ect...

Yes! Especially if you are looking at fiber and want the best of both worlds. Keep in mind, cross breeds aren't "show worthy" but when it comes to fiber and spinning, sometimes this is the way to go. You might want to check out my friend Stephanie's channel @rabbitryandyarns. She is in the process of breeding for the "American Angora" which is a mix of the best of all the breeds. Absolutely! If you have rabbit knowledge, you're one step ahead of me when I started! Sometimes the plain combed fiber is my best selling product!
Are the guard hairs on the French itchy once it’s spun?
I don't think they are, but other disagree. I think it's a personal preference. French is one of my favorites because of the beautiful halo.

I've only ever had angora rabbits, so I can't compare. Angoras make great pets though!
