So, this totally hit the mark, when I actually went back and listened to every part closely ! Sometimes I try and multi task, while your show is on, and that causes me to miss pertinent words. This had that “Eureka” moment for me, when I did listen again. I need to read his book ! All 75 pages of it ! Thank you again, Stephen !!!
"Funnier than a sandwich", my new favourite phrase. Wow, I just realized I've heard all 98 podcast and never commented. Thanks Stephen for an amazing work.
After listening to you for 3 years then seeing you with the cosmic sceptic, I can’t put your face with your voice. I visualised a crust professor in a taupe suit 😂 It won’t go away!! 😮
I see that language for describing the world is changing. But I see this changing just as our evolving process of understanding the world. Because the language used for mathematics, which is a virtual world which we created, is incredibly stable and precise.
Another great episode. My question or problem with the philosophy of language is aren't we assuming that every human in a specific community will assign the same or similar meaning to a word. How do we account for the idea that we are all different and visualize the world differently. How do we account for individuals different mental conditions? Is a person ill because they would describe a sunset differently then another person?
15:40 what does one mean by "the meaning of one's life"? I never understand it. What is the Meaning in this question. How and why should a life Mean anything?
Great stuff. But you miss a case relating to necessity and sufficiency. That a condition can also be necessary but not sufficient. Eg, having straight sides is a necessary condition for a triangle, but not a sufficient one. Not central to the argument but it itched a little when I heard your definition omit this case.

Simón Salgado I think he said "sound waves"
This only good resource I've found on wittgenstein in both english and french that makes it easily understandable.
have my blunt rolled now lets go
Words cannot express how good this episode is. :)

Wow!! That was amazing way to end!! Beetle box! Loved it! Thank you for all your efforts!!
Our teacher recommend this to us and so here I am!
Hey Stephen, you deserve more recognition for your efforts..thank you!
I'm glad another is up! Favorite podcast.
The circumference of a circle is C=πD. πr² is for the Area
Superb and clear presentation on the enigmatic Wittgenstein

What did he think about poetry?
Where is part 2 ?
@9:40 Circumference of a circle is 2 pi R not pi r^2, that's the area.
Big fan of yours, keep the content coming!
I noticed this too. Kinda took me out of the moment :/
I just came to comments to see if someone had already commented this. 😅🤣
Great episode. I don't mind the infrequency as long as you keep doing good work like this.
I've been waiting for sooo long. Gonna enjoy this one.
Great! You are discussing a lot what a "game" is. Another good example would be: the traditional "This is not art"!
Great but where is part two?
This was awesome episode
Oi mate where's the next parts to this!
3:30 How to know if something is a good philosophical question?
Is there a Wittgenstein pt. 2? I can't find it
The limitations of language argument is a cop-out. You don't hear Plato, Plotinus, Spinoza or Hegel complain about it.
Why is the Ayn Rand episode not on TH-cam?

The circumference of a circle is 2(pi)r.
Stephen has redefined it here, these are just words.
I miss you, Mr. Steven West
15:40 what does one mean by "the meaning of one's life"? I never understand it. What is the Meaning in this question. How and why should a life Mean anything?
Did anyone else notice that he said the circumference of a circle was pi r squared?
shout out to my man Ludwig Wittgenstein and his language ocd. good episode, never not a fan
So why are methaphysical question outside the scope if language according to wittgenstein? I'm afraid you didn't really explain that.

Angus McIntosh my penis is necessary but not sufficient
Just came straight to this from Joe Rogan. Looking forward to working my way through these:)
great content!
VitgenSHtain, my man!
Game = something fun enjoyable and competitive
Technically, someone could derive joy from a business competition but that doesn’t make it a game. Not all games are fun all the time either
You know .... at times ... these philosophers sound like conmen, playing us.
Wittgenstein is God
Just rips on Nicki Minaj. XD
