My personal recommendation for gear is to use all the Sans-Culottes gear except for the arms. For the arms, use the Legendary Military Bracers to maximize the amount of projectiles you can carry on you at all times. This allows you to be less conservative with your Phantom and Berserk blades and use them freely.
It's funny, I just picked this game up about 4 months ago for the 1st time. LOVE IT! Then I read about all the hate it got because of the super glitchy launch. I feel very lucky that I didn't have to endure all that crap because this game is awesome. No, it's not perfect, but it's bad ass and it's fun. I know it's an older game and not as polished as the newer ones, but for all is flaws still makes me feel like a true assassin. Being my 1st AC game, I'll always love this game.
Great video! I've been in agreement about many things and you've opened me up to a few great things to keep at the top of my mental list. Last Sep I started with AC2, then Brotherhood, and I just started Unity about a month ago and I really love this game! I got into AC3, but I wasn't crazy about the story, so I started Unity. The last time I've played any computer games was back in the early 80's I think.... the Kings Quest and Hero's Quest series. AC2 and Brotherhood were lots of fun, but now I won't go back to them since Unity is a giant leap forward! It took quite a bit of getting used to the different fighting techniques and the navigation system, but I'm getting a good handle on it now. I will eventually play some co-op games but I don't think I'm ready for it yet. I'm currently an Elite Officer but some of my skills need to be improved to match that title, so I am doing as many reruns as possible and trying out the different gear, tools and weapons. I'm implementing all the tips in all my reruns. I've done almost all the co-op games in private and got full credit. At first, I went in blazing! Then, I did the total opposite. Just a few days ago I changed my gear to maximize on the projectiles and smoke bombs. I will be buying the Hood you recommended. I've already equipped with the others you mentioned. I love Unity but boy does it ever piss me off sometimes, when you hear people talk about bugs in a game sometimes you might think there overreacting but with Unity they happen so frequently that they become frustrating, idk how many times the game wouldn’t let me attack and or parry or I’d get stuck on something and not be able to move or randomly dying during a co-op mission. When the game works it’s amazing when it doesn’t it’s annoying and frustrating.
I ran into some frame drops and I got stuck in cover mode unable to move for 5 minutes and that was in the first hour of gameplay, also enemies appear from no wear. And the loading time is so long compared to others
I'd use the military bracers for max blade ammo, the San coulletes belt for lockpicks and smokebombs. The the Napoleonic Hood, Musketeer Chest and prowler trousers. Simply because there's no real set boost for equipping all of the gear parts.

I love the extra challenge of not using the disguise either, i want to be an assassin all the way through just like how desmonds ancestors did it, i only use the assassin cache to resupply my inventory rsther then going to a shop
Just got this game. It's great. I've completed the ezio trilogy and black flag, but the combat and parkour in unity are unmatched, but I kinda wish we could carry enemies like ezio
Also I found that guns are remarkably handy in assassinations and drawing attention at the same time, you can use guns to kill a target while luring others within the vicinity. Leaving stationary ones vulnerable but on high alert 🔔
You guys can try this outfit out I’d love to hear your guys opinion on it, I didn’t make it based on stats purely looks. I think it gives Arno sort of an Ninja assassin vibe. One problem I have with the stealth in this game, is how much it relies on your equipments... so you must keep using stuff just so you can do well, and that is a bother, specially if you are trying to save money for other stuff, or if there are other gears you like more. But my greatest pain is that, unlike the other games, if you get spotted once, even if you disappear leater on, the enemies won't just go back to how they were in patrol... they will always keep walking around, or just facing the direction you came from for pretty much the rest of the mission...
I didn't struggle with the enemies facing right when I lost aggro at them, but this game is very tool reliant. Yes, you can save tools and be patient, but it's very slow and enemies detect you too fast for my liking. I totally feel you.
Your Phantom Blade damage is dictated by how much damage your two weapons do. Get a 5-diamond melee weapon and pistol, and your Phantoms will kill every enemy but 5-diamond brutes and defenders (the guys with spears). Even then, a headshot with a Phantom will *always* kill, no matter the enemy’s stats or yours (except for main targets, you’ll still have to go finish them off with the Hidden Blade). The same thing applies to quickshots with gunners. A gunner will always die to a Phantom Blade/pistol quickshot, no matter their stats or yours (gunners also always die to one poison bomb).
Cheers mate, Unity's been sitting in my desktop collecting dust, and I've just begun it finally, will definitely save up money for the armour. And your advice about patience, I have found that I tend to rush. Also I can say that I really don't like the 'cover' system. In AC 3 and Black Flag you just got to a corner and if you pressed up against it you would automatically go into cover? I think, and you could whistle to get somebody's attention. I got back on the game a couple days earlier, and I really improved my character. Because I defeated almost the whole game with Arnos beginning outfit because I didn’t knew that cloth actually gave benefits. I got 1 million, and got a bunch of stuff, but the thing I still lack is stealth I get spotted easily even if I crouch or when I’m very quiet. I also need to improve in using smoke bombs. I got a high amount of stealth when I look at my gear display. How do I improve stealth to not get spotted because I still do.
The only technique that Leo K has never mentioned: cherry bomb resets the suspicion scale if it is not completely filled. This will help to go around the corner in time if you feel that you will be detected
how do you do low profile assassination after throwing a smoke bomb at your enemies? I'm playing on PC and I try to let Arno just walk up to them and kill them, but he always ends up fighting them instead of sneakily stabbing them. Do you have to use the crouch button?
Playing for the first time in 2023. Kinds cracks me up just how many features don't work anymore, like half of the game is just dead lol. Either way I am having a fucking BLAST! Everything about this game is just blowin my tiny mind apart. The parkour is so goddamn fun, I kinda hate how amazing it is. Nothing comes close to it, at least that I've played. There are a decent number of titles that I haven't played yet, like Rogue, 3, Syndicate n a couple others. But shiiiiiiiit this game is dope, n Arno is just as cool as a cucumber.
Im playing this for the first time and having no whistle is still throwing off, especially after playing syndicate so much. I don't know why they got rid of the ability to realiably draw guards to you and its not like the whistle even made the game too easy because you had to make sure enemies were isolated enough
Can you explain why every time I throw a smoke bomb behind cover on an incoming guard it just alerts them outright? PS. I hate it that you can't transmog in this game. Most of the armor design in Unity suck. That's one thing I like about Oddyssey but the armor I actually like I had to buy in the store lol.
When you get spotted by a random fanatic, his comrades will come rushing down on you even tho they're far away from each other. It's like they have telepathy lol
The stealth in this game is hard in my opinion. I mean enemies are together often. If you use smoke bombs. The enemies further away will still see u. Just how many enemies there are in areas, I just use assassin cache, to refill ammunition. And pair that with phantom blade. You're then good to go. I call this cheesy long range stealth. I think ac unity is cool but just because how many enemies there were made stealth and going up close wasn't a option. I was better off using long range kills then.
The thing that I don't like about the eagle vision is that it is only there for a limited time. After a few seconds it's gone and we lose sight of all the enemies around us. They should have kept it permanent like how they did in the older games and the games after unity.
Sorry for the exaggerated long comment. Stealth, that's something that made me think a long time about what weapons to use. I got the rifle as soon as I saw the "non lethal" thing. Well, sadly enough, the shots did not fit my non lethal playstyle XD. Anyway, I'm kinda that using a Katana and Pistol now, I just go non lethal on the guards (they're not bad people, or at least not that bad, and the game makes them feel more "alive" on idle dialogues). I just don't go non lethal because the mace is really not my weapon. But I can't just ask for non lethal sword and pistol, so I'm going gunslinger mode. Just need to find the right gear through, something between stealth and range, with good ammunition buffs. Oh, yes, I'm new. Just got the game 3 - 4 days ago.
@MasterAssassin I do not have many heists and co-op mission available in my map. What do I do? They give a lot of money and I want to do them, specially the It Belongs In A Museum
This game had so much potential. The game play was amazing, parkour was smooth. The story just sucked, no good villains, that red headed know it all, and they barely used Napoleon, didn't even used Shay. What were the script writers thinking.
I only thing I hate about the sans coulette is that it doesn't have the trench coat look. It's the most stealthy outfit in unity and it looks ugly. Way to mess up ubisoft

Low profile is when you are not detected and you are walking and do the standing or crouching assassinations, you go into high profile when you sprint which gives you those running assassinations or combat moves

PvpDamager Kris you activate the sprinting and I love to answer questions don’t sweat it. Really the only difference with the movement in ac unity and origins is you have to press a sprint button and the assassination animations in unity are much quicker, if you liked origins I think you will also enjoy unity. Really not a fan of the disguise in this game. Just makes no sense to magically go all terminator and clone someone.
It does make sense though it’s an animus ability, you are living through memories you aren’t actually in the time

Damn I felt the 2nd hand annoyance, I’ve done this exact mistake in both Unity and Mirage to many times 😵💫😵💫😵💫
2:45 you can also shoot an enemy with 2 Beserk blades and they will die from poison . I use this when I run out of phantom blades
When I use phantom blades it barely does any damage let alone kill people
They one shot pretty much everyone, make sure you aim and do headshots if your a lower level

Can you tell me the difference of Low and High Profile??
Low profile is when you are not detected and you are walking and do the standing or crouching assassinations, you go into high profile when you sprint which gives you those running assassinations or combat moves

PvpDamager Kris you activate the sprinting and I love to answer questions don’t sweat it. Really the only difference with the movement in ac unity and origins is you have to press a sprint button and the assassination animations in unity are much quicker, if you liked origins I think you will also enjoy unity. Please let me know what you think of the game when you get started on it.

What is low and high profile?
High profile is the mode you enter when you hold the sprint button. It makes your character do things that'll get you spotted easier.
