I use mine primarily for grocery shopping, holiday gift-giving, and for quick notes when I'm away from home. I love this little guy. I was very surprised to see the paper handled even my wetter pens and inks. I have my Travelers Factory Green fountain pen clipped to this notebook always. Great combo for me.

I have used a Dingbats notebook for my journal! I liked it fine, but am now using hoarded TRP journals (Endless Recorders and Odyssey notebooks). The paper in mine was a very yellowy cream, which was not my favorite, but it was well-behaved and I liked it.

I used a Dingbats* A5 Wildlife Brown Bear unruled last year. Loved it. If you love cream paper this is the best!

Thanks for the review. I already have a dingbats and I love it, it's my reading journal. A use you could give to this one is as a night bedside table notebook, so something you keep in your bedside table for quick thoughts cleaning before going to sleep (like pending tasks or something you forget to mention to someone) so it can help you rest better knowing it's already written... or to get notes on your dreams if you happen to register them. Or to register how well you slept and your first feelings in the morning. Just an idea for a small notebook. 😊

Probably you know this but in case you didn't, when yo compare the A6 to the A5, the sheet size is exactly half. So the A6 notebook is roughly half an A5 notebook, taking into account there's additional material from the cover.

I have a similar notebook from a different company. That is size is a passport size 3.5" x 5.5" inches. The A6 is 4" x 6" inches and is a little more squared. As tiny as the book is, I use it as a reading tracker, to write about shows I'ved streamed. It is a challenge, but with the help of my stencils, I was able to create a variety of fitness tracker. I even made a 30-day declutter tracker. I do journal in it because it is so easy to complete a page. However, when I am finished with it, i am going to a real A6 grid notebook which has the capacity to have nice spreads.

I have a Dingbats notebook in the A5 flavor but it's still on the shelf. I'll have to pull it down when I use up my current notebook. Thanks for the review!

I use little notebooks for shopping and errand lists. They hold up better than index cards.
Perhaps more importantly, I remember reading a comment to one of the Goulet pen casts where someone thanked the powers that be that you can use other refills for the Retro 51. I believe he said the alternative was Montverde but I’m not sure as it’s been a while.

Interesante. Cordial saludo desde Medellín, Colombia.

Ever thought about a Dietary journal? I have keeping such a journal for several years. Each page is one day, and I list all that I consume. Not all that much to writge, thus the journal itselt is relatively6 small.
My doctor recommended it, so if i develop an allergic reaction, then I can check what I consumned for a guide on what NOT to consume anymore.

You could use it for a mini-bullet journal for things like your total steps, what you are reading, etc. Is the paper thick? I used an A5 Dingbats journal and the paper was very thick and stiff. It would have been good for doing watercolors, etc.

    A6 is half of A5. That’s the „A“ system. A4 is 2 A5 or 4 A6, A0 is 2 A1 and so on.

How flat does it open, and do you think the binding will hold up?

Is the paper white or cream?
