Michele you are hilarious! I like to watch you when I'm cooking as well as learning to paint. You always make me smile with your subtle sarcastic or funny comments! I wish you all success in your endeavors. God bless you for helping us paint inexpensively and I look forward to your next video!
Fantastic details & techniques for rocky hillsides, pebbles on the beach or in a garden. It looks like the gravel roads around the countryside here! Thanks for sharing this wonderful informational video. Your breaking this down into manageable steps makes this a very simple & successful process. 💕💖
I was looking at a couple of my paintings yesterday and thinking how difficult it was to get a nice textured-looking pavement or sand. This is perfect timing - thank you Michele!
Wow! This is an awesome technique. Thank you so much, Michele! I can't wait to try this technique to create texture for areas where there's any type of shoreline, for rocky areas or outcrops, and for meadows.
That was great. It looked so real at the end. The technique would test my patience. Maybe that’s why I could give it a try. I’d use it as a rocky beach. 23:10
Hi Michelle, I only discovered your channel a few weeks ago. So glad I did, I have binged watched every weekend! I feel I have learned so much, not tried everything but before I try something new, I will always look at your channel for tips. I am quite new to watercolours, about 18 months or so. To be honest, I am not that good, but....I have improved and I absolutely love painting with watercolours, it relaxes me and I just zone out. I am struggling to find my own style and I lack ideas, hopefully that will come. Also, love your humour! Haha. Many thanks. xxx
I am so happy I found you and your WONDERFUL channel. I have subscribed and binge watched for days!! Thank you for your talent, your creative SUPPORT and your GENEROSITY! You are an absolute TREASURE! ❤
Thank you Michele! I think the tip about tearing paper to mask off your edges is ingenious. Odd quirk of modern life: we finally switched to electric toothbrushes (they really do clean better). But it means I don't have the pile of old, grungy 'analog' ones lying around anymore. I might have to go buy some cheap new ones! lol.
I've used this method to do a macadam/asphalt driveway that had little bits of differently valued pebbles in it, though I did a light wash, then splattered masking fl., another wash, more masking fl. splatter, etc. Worked great! Wonderful technique. Thanks, Michele!
This is so useful. I'm going to be painting a field with very uneven grass tufts, and I was trying to figure out how to do it - now I know! Thanks Michelle!
I really like the depth you created on the pathway by using multiple layers, almost a 3D effect. I think I will try the spattering technique on that 2nd photo in Module 4 of the Watercolor course-- the one that has all the tiny out-of-focus leaves. I've been trying to figure out how to paint them. Great video, thanks!
When mixing gouache with watercolor, does it matter if the watercolor is transparent or opaque? Or does the gouache add the same level of opacity either way?
Not yet, but it's an idea! Meantime I find Schminke and Pebeo to be good, Winsor and Newton to be pretty bad, and if you are in the UK the SAA blue mask is fairly reliable.
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Thanks for the info. I was going to order Schminke or Pebeo anyway. I live in Mumbai, India. Here, a 200 ml to 250 ml bottle-both brands-costs around Rs.850, which is not expensive. I’ve had bad experiences with Daler Rowney earlier, when these two brands weren’t available here. So I just threw away the bottle after feeling frustrated with it! 😅
@@IntheStudiowithMicheleWebber Hi Michele, sorry for the delayed response. I've saved your number. Will message you during the weekend. Recovering from a viral infection due to weather change.
Have you tried painter’s tape from a hardware store? It is either biue or green and comes in a variety of widths. It will hold long enough to hold an edge for and comes off very easily, although I have never used it on paper.
Just a clarifying question. Is it selling all your clothes AND joining the cult that is the problem? That is, is one or the other okay, but not the combination? 😀

Michele, I love your channel because you "teach" useful techniques to help us improve. You don't do fluff. Thank you.
Thank you so much!
Beautiful effect for beaches, paths and rural roads. Also sparkle on water. Thanks Michele 💜
Water, yes!
I’ve never thought to splatter masking fluid like that! Might have to give it a try 😊
You should!

Thank you for the awesome tips on tape! As for the techniques used here, I would love to try it with a path through a forest or perhaps a beach scene.

I have often said that one day art shops will be the only place that sells them, I use electric too!
Thanks so much Michele, another inspiring technique

Unpleasant infidelity nonsense! I laughed so hard at that. Thank you for these videos. They have really helped me and given me new ideas.
So glad!

White gouache will make any watercolor opaque because it's still mostly white, you are just colouring it so to speak.
Have you got a comparison video of different masking fluids?

Not yet, apparently washi tape is good too!

Lol using a hair dryer - one step away from selling all your clothes and joining a cult. Your quick wit makes your videos quite entertaining.

Well I do like a declutter...
