Good vid. Doing one now on 99 suburban 5.7. there's 2 bolts above PS pulley under AC. Just loosen them and u can pry the AC housing back enough to remove the valve cover. Just tighten em back up b4 u do the valves so your belt's tight. Shouldn't need to remove the bolts completely. Just loosen all the way.
Thank you, I was stumped on that bolt below my power Steering pump on my 99 Suburban. Also, small hint I found helpful... 3M Yellow Trim seal, O'riellys sells a spray and a tube. Tube $10 Spray was $22. Just like old weatherstrip adhesive, held the gasket well while flipping over the valve cover and installing..
damn, i thought thats what it was gonna take. thats a lot of work just to change a valve cover gasket. and thats the side that always seems to leak. thank you for the video.
Doing this job now on my K1500 Vortec, using FEL-PRO VS50088R {#14088564} PermaDry Blue Gaskets. Thanks for posting this. It's really helpful to have the bolts and nuts pointed out like in your video. I thought this was going to be super easy, remove valve cover bolts, remove cover, replace gasket, reinstall. Not so much.
Been there done that. They must have smoked the good shit that day they designed this headache. Had to do valve adjustments so take it apart run the engine set the valves . Take it apart a second time to put the valve cover back on along with all the other BS. I know how you feel and great video man.
Ty sir I have a 99 Escalade. You are the man!!!

Yes Sir, just loosen the bolts you stated and create some clearance to get the cover out.
