Hikaru has shaved 5 years off Eric's life in this video alone 😂
Yeah 😆
Eric shaved a few off Hikaru's with that chokehold
@@danicajohnson2664 nicely played.
every time i lose 10 games in a row i watch this video, today is one of those days
I,m here just after 5 losses now.
I went down from 1579 to 1349 in a month. This game is cursed for me. But i got it back to 1530 in 3 days of grinding.
@@Cipher_Nine I went from near 900 to 630 in blitz mainly bc of a hiatus :/
@@Joshua-dl3ns I’ve lost 170 elo in 3 days I’m ready to end it all 😂
the rage followed by the silence of Eric and the lonely lounge EDM music in the background gets me everytime
The best part about this is most of the rage moments are him going against nakamura. It's like his rival
Hikaru adopted Eric, rival what? LUL
Dude Hikaru is like the best bullet player on the planet- he can adopt pretty much everyone except Magnus and Alireza
Brosef Brokowski no way he’s adopting giri and aanand
What Eric feels vs Naka is what Naka feels vs Magnus lmao
@@brigel4984 no, if you look at their recent tournaments, they're pretty even. Naka even kicked Magnud out in a Semi Final
I'm here because Hikaru literally didn't care that he got "flagged"
Hahaha
Hikaru: "Alexa, play the clip of Eric rage-quitting against me again."
"Which one Hikaru?"
underrated
@@ReoiteRL "all of them"
@@ReoiteRL Eric : "Alexa play the video where I kicked hikarus ass over the board then I beat his ass in the front yard"
Moral of the story: Playing Hikaru is bad for you.
Hahahaha
Bad for mental health for sure...
unless you're Magnus Carlsen or something
Bad for your table!
Lmao it’s literally the same for Hikaru to Carlson. He has such a bad record with Carlson.... if we are talking about the same person.
the amount of times eric has been in completely winning positions against hikaru and still loses or draws is insane
It's kinda like when hikaru plays carlsen
The self draw at 4:55 was really rough. This kind of stuff is why I believe in "variable I.Q." The idea is that intelligence changes throughout the day based on a myriad of variables. Influencing those variables (better nutrition, fasting, better sleep, more balanced vitamins, physical exercise, standing desk, better lighting, better emotional control, etc.) leads to a consistently sharper mind.
manictiger this is pretty common knowledge. Of course you’re going to play at a higher level if you’re well rested and fed compared to if you’re not
@@danielesposito8280
You're missing my point. That's one out of many variables. There's more subtle ones, some of which work slowly and insidiously.
Most people are on a faster acceleration curve than me when it comes to deterioration of the brain, simply because they just don't manage their micro-damages.
Dioxins, heavy metals (and not enough garlic), obesity, excessive inactivity, extended vitamin deficiencies, insufficient molecularly distilled fish oil, sleep debt, drug usage (even caffeine and alcohol), excessive stress, etc. all contribute to mental performance degradation over time.
@@danielesposito8280
To expand on my point, you have to socially engineer yourself in every possible way to get peak performance.
I used to scalp the equities market hardcore and everything except stress and caffeine addiction were micromanaged like my life depended on it.
If I didn't sleep well in the night, I took a nap as soon as the market closed (biphasic sleep). I also used music to boost my energy. Dancing at a standing desk is another trick. Bright lighting to suppress melatonin was another.
I fought some of the meanest algorithms Wall Street had to offer, and I had a win-rate of 85%. That doesn't just "happen". I also used my anger as a tool, something an algorithm can't do.
There's a special kind of knife edge you need, if you want to win at the highest level of whatever it is you want to excel at. "Getting enough sleep" doesn't even begin to describe it.
Every lost boy needs a father named Hikaru
Magnus> Fabi > HIkaru
Hikaru is overrated ......
@@aboodvstheweirdworld2682 as of right now he's only overrated by 14 people in the world.
@@aboodvstheweirdworld2682 no sorry he is underrated
jason woods And that’s in Classical. He’s no. 1 rated in Blitz.
" I can play decent chess." - blunders the fork immediately. I feel you Bro.
Find someone to love you like hiki loves eric
thanks for the tip, Socrates
@@eterty8335 bruh. He doesn't know anything...
@@yourfan4797 He knows one thing
THAT HE KNOWS NOTHING
@@grumpyspinach7013 nice lol
That double queen stalemate at 16:00 is soul-crushing.
I absolutely adore Eric for what he is - great player and "only human" like the rest of us. Never hides emotions and never runs away from the challenge
4:10 "I've - Is this theory? I've just trapped my queen"
Best chess related quote I've ever heard
..Be5, Qg5 Qg5, Bg5, Bb2 -+ anyway
in that clip doesn't Qg5 also lose the queen?
@@wildgurgs3614 nah but he loses his rook
The bit at 12:05 with the hand placement had me literally crying with laughter. It was absolutely hilarious.
I'll never not laugh at eric throwing his chair after hanging a pawn
tbf it's not trivial in that situation
"I don't recall ever tilting so hard"
Listen, I'm Canadian, and this might sound casual but this means he is fucking FUMING bud
23:35 right in the feels
1:47 I cried of laughing on that.
3:10 gets me every time lol
Yeah, the best one.
He has a rage chair
@@hilpealolli5223
The new Everlast boxing chair, for the gamer that wants to improve that tricky left cross and right upper cut combo.
What was the blunder there
@hardikconilingus6569 hung a pawn
I like how eric is not that seriously angry against others but when he blunders against hikaru he gets real mad
When I’m tired and play chess, I always find myself losing, then I play again because I want to win at least one game, but the problem is I’m still tired so I keep losing, then I get triggered like him. I can relate so when he said “I’ve lost every game today”. Lol
15:28 oh my god that's hilarious. No shame from Hikaru lol.
That was nasty
dirty bitch just as eric said😂
Can someone explain? I guess Naka anticipated Hansen's premoves to take the rook. Why is that dirty?
@@bittyshottoms1007 Rh5 is illogical for both eric and naka, one should not expect the opponent plays that. But naka, on the other hand, took advantage because eric is premoving (unaware of it and will make only the logical move and think the opponent does the same)
@@danielsahalatua8486 I mean it's pretty logical when you can read your opponent and realize his only way of winning is by pre-moving. I'm surprised Hikaru thinks on the fly like that
The most mesmerizing smile on earth! 24:05
"Chess is a game of strategy and patience"
Oh i don't think so
20:28 always cracks me up
Hahah same
3:08 the most casual rage to date
"I don't recall ever tilting so hard" Eric's memory is not so great for a GM LOL
0:47 "NOOOOOO!!" made me cry
Yeah it's like in a movie or something 😂😂
No matter what level, chess is hard.
I can get hard without chess.
@@christianlacroix5430 but it's even better with chess
Enjoyed this more than I should have.
1:55 “and something bad’s gonna happen” and yup it happened 😂
Ohhh SHIT
I feel this pain of loosing on time in winning position... Chess can make you cry
I've been playing chess for a year and can't manage to keep my cool when I lose in certain ways.
It's nice to see I'm not alone lol
It's not all losses, but certain kinds of losses just feel like total shit
12:10 I’m dead ☠️
Is it just me or does eric get forked like... A LOT!? :D
It's so easy to get forked. When u expect it it will never happen. And then.... u don't expect it.
"Knights are hard" B.Finegold
It's a compilation of fails, bad video to judge
@@roflmfao4life not really. He got forked a lot.
Well he plays a lot
8:37 really got me in the feels
Your reaction to Chess blunders is my reaction to everything in life.
alternate title: 25 minutes of a gm having a mental breakdown
When you ask a chair from Eric. 3:14
10:45 what is going on here? :DD
Watching this makes me feel so much better. I just flung a load of stuff across the room earlier today after blundering a totally winning position in time trouble. Don't mind losing if I get outplayed by a stronger opponent, but this one I just completely messed up. Longer time control game, and worked really hard for that win, then just blew it all in one move. Pure rage.
It's why I could never stream chess...there'd be too many Eric Hansen moments. The strange thing is, away from chess I'm pretty chilled.
My favorite is 1:47 he was so happy lol
"something bad is gonna happen". Yes, indeed. You're absolutely right.
Can someone explain to me why he didn't take the queen after Kf2? She was completely undefended, his queen was safe, and he could have gotten out of there in the next move?
(Apologies if I missed something important, been playing chess for about a week)
@@Surokkh Because he would also lose his queen with Ra4
@@alejandrolopeztobon1643 But the only enemy rook is blocked by the enemy knight, and there's another white bishop between the rook and queen?
If Bxd1 and if the response is Nb1 to c3 for example, then the white rook would be staring down his bishop. If he moved the bishop out of the way, than the rook would only see the white bishop on f1....
@@Surokkh there's a rook on h1 staring down black's queen if Bxd1 then Rxh4, Bxc2 etc etc and black would be down 1 pawn and have the light squared bishop immobilised on the other side of the board
(just my analysis, computer might prove me wrong idk)
Priceless material, great editing. I can revisit this once or twice a year and laugh my ass off.
4:47 I love how he slaps his head before slapping the wall
12:48! Best moments when Eric laughs
There are some things that just never get old
I lost my shit when he just casually picks up that chair and throw it at 3:16
"You are not adopting me, not today"
21:40 ''someone call himself chess cuck and im hung a queen''... poor eric
At 16:08 on the blunder draw by stalemate... that was me a few days ago with the queens as well. I feel your pain, took me a while to get over it.
Eric has a special rage room where he go sometimes on the video and most hilarious things happening there. We demand footage from that room
The siren that comes after 2:09 and the still-shot of Eric’s face is hilarious!
"So uhhhhh hypothetically, would you be interested in this hypothetical situation?" ༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽༼;´༎ຶ ༎ຶ༽
15:38 against Hikaru is epic:)
16:00 best one till now 🤣🤣🤣
The 16:33 clip might just be my all-time favorite
Lol I'm still confused who said that
Hey Eric, I hope you read this. This is therapeutic for the soul. Thank you.
I can play decent chess....FUCK!!FUCK!!Cracks me every time :-D
its amazing how many times eric finishes with winning positions but losses on time against hikaru
Not really. Hikaru is a better player so makes Eric think harder which depletes his time.
I just had a few rage quits so this is making me feel better. Thanks.
One blunder...what a reaction..very unusual for him...he is such a perfectionist at chess..haha!
If he gets angry and loses on time then why does he play 30 sec or 1 min matches
I think I'm crying. It's that neat.
That knight forking king and rook 🤣🤣🤣
1:13 the anger is real.
its amazing just how good hikaru is at blitz
Nobody has made more gms rage than Hikaru Nakamura 😂
You know, I get it now. I totally get the rage now. I never thought I would get so worked up over a fucking board game but goddamn have I gotten pissed at some of the stupid blunders I've made.
Classic. Nostalgia has never felt so badass.
Dude they’re all against Hikaru 😂😂
15:28 watch at 0.25x speed, I promise it is an ethereal experience
Where is Hikaru's video when hansen gets angry throwing his chair and being mad from getting dirty flagged?
Sometimes I lose the will to live playing chess but hearing Eric in my head saying "What the fuck!" keeps me going. Hahaha Yeah baby!
0:38 December 2019. Hikaru still waiting for Eric to accept the rematch.
15:30 hahahah good pre-move that was awesome
Poor Eric. The guy just can't get a break.
There’s just something about grandmasters missing mate in 1 that is just extra special and extra hilarious 😂😂
One advantage of being weak: I can't throw chairs.
Same. I'm like a 1300 in chair throwing
When you trigger a 1300 lmao
@Doran Cao hang in there man, a lot of good material out there
You folks are so straight with picking your fav clip from here. I was laughing with tears the whole video, can't pick the best
6:48 Wait he was crushing MVL wtf
i feel that eric is really moody he could play like a super grandmaster at times and alot weaker at times
🤣 chess is based on mood
11:45 This got me dying 😂
Eric getting a good position
Time: i think is time for you to go
Hikaru the epitome of stress
Its was an awesome idea to make this video i am still crying....but man that one on 11:35 hahahahahahhahahahahaha
14:20 hikaru entered beast mode lol
Losing on time is the dumbest shit ever, this is why I play at least 30 minute games
This video reminds me of me when I play Chess.
Thanks, GM Eric Hansen for giving me some good laughing moments with this video. Never get tired of it. 🤣🤣🤣
0:51 eric throwing his blanket after getting flagged vs Naka - 1:10 eric pounding the keyboard after blundering vs Naka - 3:16 eric throws his chair after getting destroyed vs Naka - 15:29 eric angry after Naka pulls a dirty trick on him - 19:58 eric throwing things in his rage after getting flagged vs Naka in a completely winning position - anyone see the pattern?
There are five smiling faces
they play alot so makes sense that theres more clips of hikaru
hikaru still had a minute and there was still a lot of game left, no? thats not really "flagging" is it? disnt hansen just manage his time poorly and lose? idk i dont really play i just started randomly getting chess vid recs a while back, i think cause of the niemann/carlsen thing
@@msqway11 Flagging is when you have a losing position, but convert the win by running your enemy out of time. It's reasonable and expected in fast time formats especially without increment (extra time you get after each move) that opponent's try to flag, but it's still pretty annoying to experience.
0:10 I remember playing blitz and I had mate in one but instead of playing Qg7 I mouse slipped to Qh7 guarded by a rook and then I remember punching my laptops screen out of pure rage
Surprise, disbelief, anger, resignation, sadness.
Repeat.
He looks like a slightly psychotic Miles Teller.
He rages more at chess than people rage in video games
Eric should have a huge budget to replace those destroyed desks and chairs.
First ever chessbrah video I’ve watched in maybe early 2020 or mid 2020 idr but I do remember, bee that moment when the princess ad started playing and Eric Hansen got pissed lol
When you get the ultimate rage and just stare at the sunrise with delight.
1:10 will always be my favourite.
Rage, Silence, Shame, EDM.......
8:19 watch Hansens score go from 2547 to 1200... after a loss with 100 rated player
good call, didn't even see that part. he should have zoomed in on that like he did with the knight fork earlier
That shouldn't be allowed to happen lmao
