    Iloilo City is definitely one of the best in the Philippines. I've been there many times over the years since my wife's family home is about half an hour away in a small town you've visited before.

    Thanks for the clarity regarding the bike restrictions there near One Spatial. So, as I thought and as you confirmed here in this helpful and fun video, no bikes are allowed on the stretch of Esplanade north of the river between Carpenter's Bridge and Diversion Bridge. Now I just gotta figure out how good or bad or even non-existent the sidewalks are up R. Mapa st and then right onto Dinato Pison Ave. which is the street route to get closer to Smallville and SM City areas. That will make all the difference in using a bike sometimes or always doing a rideshare that first month of February. I'm sure you're well aware of how outdated Google streetview and satellite view is for much of that city. For example, they began construction on those One Spatial condo buildings in 2017 and Google Satellite view still shows back when they were breaking ground there.
    You are much appreciated for the info and the sights and sounds you continue to offer us!

    • @BiancaBeyond
      @BiancaBeyond  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Basically that stretch ther is only a little bit of sidewalk on the road in front on the condo heading up to Smallville. youll likely need to ride on the side of the street but only a small stretch

      @@BiancaBeyond - Good to know. I'll just peddle much quicker to not slow the flow when there is any
      traffic in the lane. It's only a short distance anyway.
      By the way, I am a long-time friend of Howard's who you met about 5-6 weeks ago at Muelle Restaurant as he was scouting the city with plans to live there next Feb. He and his Filipina g/f will be there in a condo at One Spatial and doing some house-hunting after his lease ends in Cebu in January, as you know.
      Plus, my older sister (she's in Austin, Tx and I am in Pensacola, Fl) who was so impressed by what she was seeing in numerous videos I sent her regarding these two Philippine cities, has decided to join me for the first two weeks and so we will also rent a condo there after spending our first five days in Cebu.
      I'm sure we all will meet up with you both somewhere for dining - tabs on us, of course. :)
      Blessings!!

It also will have wide redbrick-paved sidewalks with rows of trees and landscaping and, and will also have biking lanes. Also simultaneously under construction is the Dongon Creekside Esplanades and biking Lanes, 4.5kms,, connected to Esplanade 3, and will link Jaro District to the rest of the Esplanades. Bravo!

    I was there last March 15, 2023 at the Waterfront restaurant with my family for a birthday celebration 🎉 Oh boy, I was shocked at prices of the food. I paid 10k pesos for not a very fancy meal for the whole family. Mostly green salads and an Australian barramundi costs me 1k pesos. I was in a big shock when I saw the bill. It was just newly opened then and the toilet has no toilet paper
    Can you imagine that for a very fancy restaurant? We were just paying for the river view but it was during the night too.
    So very disappointed and will never eat there again. We could have gone to Breakthrough restaurant instead. They served quite a good seafoods spread for just a mere 5k pesos for a family of 10😍

    nice to see there are sidewalks for pedestrians. I find those new buildings are not particularly interesting. "pretty" but contrived to look European. I don't like slick modern architecture either. I prefer the older neighbourhoods.

    Bacolod's Lacson street. Is more modern than Iloilo's only modern place, Festive walk by megaworld. They have Ayala mall, a nice casino, Landers and many US franchises. That still have not opened in Iloilo

    I think the real test should be how the downtown core is doing. I mean its a given fact that business districts are modern and clean. But how about the downtown core?

    • @rosemendez931
      @rosemendez931 ปีที่แล้ว

      The downtown Iloilo building are heritage area so the city can’t take it down. They’re currently doing underground cabling in that area thou.Even the commercial billboard there was removed by the city because it is an eyesore to the calle real heritage zone.

    Having a condo in the heart of iloilo city is not really a necessity. you can easily travel around the city, even if you are just commuting. I will be good if you just get a nice house and lot (within the metro, its easy to get those even today).
