***** Yes, because someone on a black motorcycle needs to be so original.. "I was reminded of a guy in a black overalls on a black motorcycle that I've seen somewhere, so unoriginal = this movie sucks"... All you people whining that a new movie on the same idea was done differently.. Seriously what did you want? For it to be an exact copy? And if you didn't want to see a remake, then it obviously wasn't made for you. But don't pretend you are objectively judging the quality, because you're not. The remake at least has some believability and philosophical depth, unlike this gore fest.
***** Ok, I won't pretend I know how you think. But then again if you were biased by how much you liked the original, for whatever reasons, you wouldn't really be aware of that bias. You simply think the remake is an averege rehash of a great movie. I think it's a much more adult take on the story with much more substance and depth. I don't think the old movie is bad, but the humor in it doesn't seem fitting to me and rather subtracts from it in my opinion - the main character's story really wasn't for laughs.. And when I saw robocop on the motorbike, I didn't even think of batman. Firstly, his motorbike was completely different in overall appearance, and second - they made robocop as a product - isn't it more logical to display that product on a bike, rather than hiding it in a car? The inspiration in dark knight must be completely fleeting if there even was any.. Anyways it's such an infinitessimal detail that it's pointless to argue - it has nothing to do with the quality of the story. I agree that it was interesting in the original that before he exited the car, nobody knew he was a cyborg, but to say that the new movie is worse because it changed that is riddiculous.
***** I agree and I'm glad we can settle on that. It's just that it pisses me off that a lot of people diss the remake and give it bad ratings because despite all evidence beforehand that it would be very different in tone from the original, they went to see the movie apparently just so that they could sing ballads about how it sucks and how the original was an unsurpassable masterpiece. The fact is that this movie didn't even want to emulate the original, which is the right way to do it, and I seriously don't understand what these people actually expected.. And I wasn't reacting to the original poster at all, I was reacting to your comment that it' s an unoriginal rehash.. :) Concerning that.. it is and at the same time it's not. It's a remake, duh.. But being a remake, it did the story in a very different manner, so it's very original in that sense. It's nonsense when some say it would be "better not done"... Why can't they just see it as a different facet of the story and leave it at that. PS: I would really like to see a remake of 2001: A Space Odyssey.. I read the book and it's got a great story - unfortunately the movie is more about effects and doesn't really do the story justice in my opinion.
@@Iguana93to put it bluntly, it is near impossible to remake a beloved icon without invoking comparisons. Instead of remaking RoboCop, the higher ups should have done a proper sequel that's not only set in Delta City but ACTUALLY challenges the original RoboCop in a test between the obsolete and the updated.
Best movie of all time. Thankyou for your cooperation, good night LMAO Your move creep! Dead or alive you're coming with me!!!!! The new movie has nothing on this, original and the best !
The figure on the TV saying "I'll buy that for a dollar!" after Robocop deals with the criminal is funny because it comes from a science fiction story and can be translated here as "I'll accept it gladly." www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=I%27ll+buy+that+for+a+dollar In other words, the filmmakers are making it appear that the TV is endorsing the Robocop solution to crime in the city, and the way he dealt with this thug in particular.
I love that Auto-9 Firearm RoboCop carries in his leg.
The cool thing about Robocop being in a car and not on a bike is that people think it's an ordinary cop until he gets out. :D
just dont watch the movie ok

In real life they really could use robocop in Detroit needless to say lol
I'll buy that for a dollar! LOL
There's a problem with the description. You said Robocop is the property of Orion Pictures and MGM. He actually belongs to Omni Consumer Products.
Best movie of all time.
Thankyou for your cooperation, good night LMAO
Your move creep!
Dead or alive you're coming with me!!!!!
The new movie has nothing on this, original and the best !
"I'd buy that for a dollar!" That line cracks me up every time.
yOuR MoVe cReeP
I wonder if he damaged so much merchandise that the robbery would cost store owner less money :)
The first robber's face is priceless. "Fuck me!" (astonished gasp)
FUCK ME! FUCK ME! FUCK ME! FUCK ME! FUCK ME! FUCK ME!
damn I remember watching this for the first time when it was released gezz so long ago, was so epic back then.
2:36 is a great shot. It makes RoboCop look really imposing.
Yes! I've been looking for the complete montage!
Fuckin love the sound of Robo opening the door at 1:06 Awesome!!!
3:27 hint of a smile?

old school great movie!!
I can't decide if RoboCop was an action film or a covert comedy.
Would drama also be included?
by 3:23, it seems to be the same scene, as in terminator 1, wenn the terminator chase reese and sarah with a policecar and crashed into that wall?!
The blonde guy is Copland from the Police academy movie.
That guy that says "I'll buy that for a dollar!", it's simple but funny. Is that an actual sitcom, or did they just make it up for the movie?
"madam you have suffered emotional shock i will notify the rape summit" lol
Any City needs a giant Robot Police Officer driving around in a Ford Taurus ...yeaaa
That's the video I'm talking about.
we should start with Detroit, Michigan
Some kind of electric sound...
Your move crep.
Your move, creep. :D
OOH NUT SHOT! 2:53
This is good stuff
*Mop 'em up, Robocop.*
Lol old action flick logic:
cause more loss in money through damage than the robber would have stolen
cfalcon64 But a criminal was stopped and lives were saved...
You can tell all that beer cans are empty.
You think they'd risk actual beer as mere props? Too valuable, man. Realism can be sacrificed for the sake of alcohol.
If tried to evade arrest, he could have risked bleeding out with that gaping wound.
wudve been more realistic if they used black people for this scenes
Yes,it's true :-)
