I really like the way it sounds. Deep and not loud. My 15 has awe touring and thats my favorite just torn between buying this for 600-700 or awe for 1400+. As we speak on my 19 i just deleted the mufflers, sounds good and gives a immediate fix for more sound but need to get a good set up to tone it down and get rid of drone.
Very much agree on the quality of sound over the volume. Just got '20 5.0, was thinking about picking this up. Glad you mentioned the volume is only a little bit louder than stock until you get on it. Also, Virginia. So, you know, cops :)
@@scotttracy9333 I did not. I got the MBRP axleback. That did exactly what I wanted it to, turned the volume up on the sounds that I liked without being too crazy. I live in a quiet suburb, so I avoid turning it on as much as I can after 10:30 PM, but otherwise I think it's a perfect medium. At idle it is not loud. DBs do get up there at WOT.
Hi Paul, not an exhaust question but I noticed on your test drive that you have a digital speedo display between your analogue speedo and tacho. My Australian 2016 GT doesn't have this feature. Do the US versions 2015 - 2018, have this as standard? I'm about to upgrade to the digital cluster which will cost about 3.2K. Cheers from Downunder.
The 2018’s and up have this option if you get a premium with 401a package. The 2015-2017 did not have this option yet. You can buy it though online for your 2015 and up mustangs but it’s about 2200 dollars.
i have had about 5 mustangs during the past 20 years, what i have noticed and experienced ,is when you change the mufflers, you lose pickup power ,the car was tuned at the factory for best performance, with the mufflers it came with, changing the flow out of engine output, changes the tuning of engine .i rather have horse power, than sound on the car.
Does exhaust modes still works in 2018 if you change ??? Like quit mode sometimes sound feels headache so if I change my exhaust from stock to ROUSH or any others can I use quit mode when I want ??
I have a 2017 GT PP with Roush AB and Roush Xpipe, it's insanely loud. Driving normally is still loud as shit, it crackles and pops between shifts at low rpm's, at WOT it's really loud, echo's off of everything. Definitely not a daily driver.
Now imagine if you get that $150 Roush X pipe Delete and put that on there with it? The Roush X pipe delete was the first thing I got for my 2019 GT before hitting 1K miles. Let me tell you the amount of back pressure that gets removed and throttle response is insane. Just with that X pipe and the factor quad exhaust non active, its loud as hell. I can't imagine how much better it would sound with that axle back. Going to get it. I just checked and the price went up on the resonator delete / X-pipe. yea I'm not a huge fan of the x pipes.. or anything raspy at all really. Theres an exhaust for the 2018 mustang called "Krona Exhaust" and it sounds so good that It probably would've been my second choice
In my experience, h is louder than x. H is almost like a straight pipe in the place of resonator when doing wide open throttle, where x cleans up the sound.
I tried h pipe twice with my previous car and my current car and I always come back to x. H a bit too loud with the roush, corsa and borla atak that I had. X is perfect sound for me with those exhausts
but if u have a quiet exhaust like borla stype, corsa sport, or touring H will be fine and less raspy. but with atak, extreme and roush, it will make it more raspy
Couldn't agree more with you. The just loud cars sound like shit to me. Sorry. They do. The 18 sounds good stock. But I want a little more but not super loud. I'm getting this put on Wednesday and cant wait. Can you notice the sound better even when normal driving? Like I want it loud when I want not all the time and all but I do hope to hear it over the engine. The stock exhaust isn't as loud as the engine.

I Got this along with the x pipe for my 18 Mustang GT. I love it. its not too loud that it gets annoying.
See thats the thing I love about the 2018's if its to loud you can correct it with your active exhaust switch.

These cars mufflers don't pick up power
