Great review! I have the MMS 511 R2D2 deluxe version with the Leia holograms. It has some slight weathering, but nothing too drastic. I've purchase this version as well. I couldn't resist seeing C-3PO's head being dragged around by R2D2.
The one you have here actually looks a lot better than the one Sideshow reviewed lol, just in that it had to much dirt weathering at the bottom, yours looks fine.
I have a previous version with the sail barge drink tray. I only need one sooo…. Not picking up this one. To those who are getting this one. “Collect what you like!”
Very nice (I built a full-size that is movie-accurate enough to pass a Lucasfilm "audition" for official, licensed events.) This looks very very good. One thing that stands out, though.. The red/blue and green/yellow lights on the dome change way, way, WAY too fast. And the front logic display and rear logic displays (the square/rectangular silver border) lights should be a shimmering blue/white oscillation, but I know that's expecting a bit much. Seems like a minor thing, but one thing geeks like is flashing colored lights on their droids!!
Got the Sideshow version with drink tray next to my Sideshow Jabba so not sure I’ll be picking up this atm. I do have the padme and Anakin in pre-order and still in doubt to pre-order the AOTC Treepio .. but yeah looks great

It could be. I'll need to see it in hand. Being able to tether C-3PO's head behind R2D2 is definitely a bonus!
The weathering looks first rate, really brings R2 to life, my favourite accessory as to be the pizza cutter arm, also loving the 3PO upgrade!

Should have come with a base. When displayed next to 3P0, R2 will look like a accessory

The version you are referring to which you own is a Sideshow figure, not Hot Toys, not quite Hot Toys quality and without the die cast dome.

You did the same thing I did and put R2 on the flight stand backwards 😅.
I prefer the Deluxe, has a few more OT accessories (Death Star plans, Luke’s saber, Dagobah lamp).
I’m holding off for now in case they make a return of the Jedi one with the drinking tray lol. Need an R2 to go with that 3po in the future
