    Exactly what I was looking for, someone who can show me what Anomalie does but slower and from scratch :)

      Also he said something that I didn't understand how. He said that the VSTs are outside the Instrument rack for more CPU...

    This is great, set my live shows up this way after watching reverb tutorial as well.. still tweaking my temp all the time.. not complicated once you comprehend define and apply to workflow.. can get a little complex .. great explanation and demo.. this would have saved me a lot of time.. lol

      So glad to hear that you can manage to put this to actual use! Recently I’ve been doing it slightly different so I’ll probably make a video about my method soon

    Great!! Just saw the reverb video. Thx for going into detail. I still however prefer to use session given the non linear/improvisation nature of my use cases.

      Thanks! That’s the beauty of Ableton, you can work with a timeline in arrangement or clips in session! Both are great for their own usecase

    my vsts isn't showing up in external instrument "midi to". What is wrong?

  • @Kenyi_
    @Kenyi_ 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    i can’t seem to route external instrument to other instruments like serum, or even ableton instruments. kontakt does work however. i’m confused on to why that is. i mostly use serum, ableton instruments. u guys have any tips on this if possible? thank you!

    • @MattFlanc
      @MattFlanc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Kenyi, when recording this video I thought it was not possible but I found a way! Here's how to do it:
      1. Creat an enpty midi track and arm it. (This midi track will receive all the midi data and send it to the correct instrument)
      2. Create the track with the instrument (serum, operator, massive...)
      2.1. Select the empty midi track you just created in step 1 as the Input Type
      2.2. Enable input monitoring. (This is important or you won't hear the instrument!)
      This should do it, hope this works for you!

      @@MattFlanc Unfortunately, External Instrument won't recognize Serum, therefore the whole Anomalie-Method won't work with Serum. The creation of separate midi tracks controlling the instrument (serum) tracks seems pointless, because External Instrument won't recognize them either. So if you're working with multiple instruments, and automating the switching between them as Anomalie does, this method won't work. :( If I misunderstood something, please let me know!

    • @MattFlanc
      @MattFlanc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@matthewgiles3255 You're absolutely right. The Anomalie method only works with plugins that support receiving external MIDI. However in a commenr above I explain a different way to do it that works for all plugins!
