    So the new sony XP700 is a decent box speaker from sony. It sounds much better than its predecessor the Sony XB90, and it has a new more dynamic looking light feature that looks great either indoors or at night. Now over all the XP700 gets the job done… but naturally we’ve gotta see how it stakes up to its direct competitor the JBL Partybox 310.

    Guys I did a thorough study and went with Sony. It's got very good capabilities. The speaker is so solid , it doesn't distort when you go for very low frequency bass. That's all you need. All the TH-cam demos use the speaker like a layman.
    With XP700, Use a good software Equalizer. And pump the bass levels. It's blowing my roof away. I never had to switch on the "Mega bass". Any good phone has Equalizer available in the audio settings. Use it.
    JBL is bass overdose.. you will get head ache when you keep hearing the booming sound. They just pack in the bass by default.
    Sony on the other hand, gives the control to YOU.. you can tune it towards a pro monitor speaker like Bose S1 pro..if you reduce the bass, the speaker turns into a classic. With mid & high frequency throwing up so warm & beautiful expression.. and If you increase the bass in the Eq, it turns into a beast. Morphs into a party speaker.
    Remember the speaker placement is so important. You need to keep it at the right spot on the floor.
    I pity Sony , because the layman user runs towards bass.. and end up buying JBL.

    Just a suggestion. I think we would get a more clear understanding of the quality of the speakers if it's not only tested woth bluetooth, but with auxiliary as well. How about comparing sony aux vs JBL bluetooth and vice versa and even sony aux vs JBL aux? My experience with Sony XB60 is when using the aux, the sound is much clearer, less distortion, however some of the instruments you might hear in bluetooth are cut out in auxiliary depending on the phone setting.

    • @bboyStuntZ
      @bboyStuntZ ปีที่แล้ว

      @@nickcalderone349 Good to know. However I was seriously disappointed when I got the Sony XP 700. I guess for me, what I want to use it for is the main dissapointment. I street perform. So first of all it's not loud out doors over car traffic etc... Second the sound quality has bass BUT it gets screechy at high volume levels. Auxilary input, the sound does not get loud. If you use quarter inch input, it's louder but significantly loses bass and quality at high volume. For a speaker so big, the sound does not match. Smaller, and much lighter speakers, can play louder. What pisses me off about the Sony speakers is that it needs a sound booster on bluetooth to get outdoor loud. Sound booster apps are not very reliable. Max volume without app the thing can barely be heard outdoors in downtown traffic. I sent it back. Wasn't worth it.

The one speaker I like is the Sony XB60. With auxilary, that one sounds really good. Better than bluetooth. Gets loud too.

    Most importantly, it doesn't matter how much better the JBL is if they can't make enough to keep in stock so you can't actually buy one. Had an event coming up and got tired of waiting, so Sony got my money. Bonus points for being $100 cheaper than the JBL after recent price increases. Maybe I'll get a JBL if they ever become readily available again, but I'm sure their prices will just keep getting more ridiculous by then.

      The battery life is more ore less the same when you use both speakers at the same volume and bass Level.
      If you really want superior battery life go for the soundboks 3, it has a battery life of 5h at 100% vol and 40h at 50% vol. And you cant compare the loudness to the other two speakers, because the SB is twice as loud as either one of these two speakers. For sure it is not very cheap for 900€ but it is worth it.

      @@yanmatz11 Yes the SB reviews were great. I also saw them say 5 hours 100% plus you get another battery pack with it to use when the first one is finished as back up. So that's actually amazing and the sound quality I heard is good too even at full. Now I wonder when they say 100% volume. Does that mean 100% both on the speaker and phone? Or 100% just on the speaker? Because on the sony Xb60 that I have right now, they say 3.5 hours full volume on the speaker. But if I turn up the phone full volume, depending which phone I use, I may only get 1.5 - 2 hours out of it. That's with stamina mode.

    • @yanmatz11
      @yanmatz11 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@bboyStuntZ If you just go by the Technical data from JBL and Sony the battery life should be pretty equal. For sure it depends on the music you hear ^^
      I have a SB3 myself, and can say the battery is insane. 5h at max is meant with both phone and speaker at 100% (Soundboks tested this with the Spotify top 100 to get a realistic view of the battery life. Most other brands test with white or pink noise, that is maby why you get a lower battery life like mentioned by sony, but it also depends on the music)
      I can say that the 5h are realistic, the longest i played max volume nonstop was like 4-4,5h. Then the police came and we had to turn down the volume to about half and it lasted another 3-4h before the party was at its end, The battery was still at 20% after all that.
      But still, if i had to choose between the sony and the JBL i would go with the JBL, the sound Quality is simply superior over the sony.

    • @bboyStuntZ
      @bboyStuntZ 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yanmatz11 I don't care much about technical data. I read many reviews and nobody is impressed by the battery life of the JBL. Only the sound quality. Also I watched DLX Willington and GYMCADDY. Both of them give very detailed speaker reviews and they both compared the JBL 310 vs Sony SRS XP700. Both agreed JBL sounds better. I pretty much agree too for the most part based on what I heard. However they both said Sony has the superior battery life and the reviews I saw on google, that's one of the big things people comment about regarding that speaker. I'm interested in actual testing. The Sony says up to 25 hours, JBL says up to 18 hours. That's quite a difference, and reviews have said at max volume people got 7 hours off Sony and it still had some power left. If you yourself have tested both speakers at max non stop till it died? That's the type of review I'm interested in. Not tech data. I've read and heard JBL gets 4 hours max volume. I'm glad you have the SB3. The explanation you gave on battery life and quality matches the reviews I read and videos I've seen. I'm definitely considering getting that speaker for what I do. Just gotta save up a bit.

    Sound balance, clarity & separation are far better in Sony than that in Jbl.
    Jbl's sound signature is kind of jumbled & instrumental sounds are not separated enough.
    If both speakers are plugged in, the sound test will be justified as Sony tends to optimise its battery life rather than bass & overall loudness while being unplugged.
    Jbl is strong in case of bass only. But Jbl has 2 levels for bass boosting whereas Sony has megabass & sony music centre app for bass boosting.
    So, in maximum sections including price, Sony beats jbl easily.
    Jbl is only better than Sony for portability only.
    I hope Bass of Sony will equal if it's plugged in, megabass is turned on & bass is increased through Sony app.

      Sony is better in terms of quality. I listened both speakers in person. Jbl has a strong bass and clear sound. Sony has a clear and warm sound and punchy bass.

      I used their Sony mega bass and the truth is it is a disappointment, it sounds totally distorted and it is better to use it without it. In the JBL their bass is at another level, whether they are plugged in or not. It will depend on the musical genre you listen to. In genres like Electronica, HH, Pop, regee or reggaeton I prefer the JBL and for salsa music, ballads I prefer the Sony. I will definitely stay with the JBL

    It's disappointing to see that JBL cheaped out and got rid of the third tweeter on the 310 (the 300 had a tweeter on the bottom for proper stereo sound when positioned horizontally). When you lay the party box 310 on its side all of the highs are coming from one side of the unit so you're not getting proper stereo separation. The Sony actually has proper Left Right stereo separation with the tweeters placed on the far sides of the unit when listening to it in a horizontal position.

      @TommyM3 3 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Yes i'm really glad to have bought my PB 300 last year and that i not have waited for the 310. By the way, the 300 also plays stereo over its 2 tweaters on the top when it is placed vertically. And when you laying it on the left side you have a more open stereosound. I don't understand why nobody mention this at comparing the 300 with the 310. At least i haven't seen one yet...

      i think that is jbl's strategy, bcoz if buy two jbl 310 u will get the stereo sound that u want via their tws connection. so indirectly, they want u to buy more than one.
