- It is about to get dangerously cold tonight, and I'm going to be spending the next 24 hours ice camping and fishing in Extreme Cold... Alone.

There are lots of good spots near the cities, just depends how safe the ice is now. Try Minnetonka

I've done this exact same type of trip a handful of times. One thing I cant stress enough, if you dont already, is please please PLEASE, have a CO detector in the house especially when sleeping. And set it on a shelf near your head when sleeping.
I have two in the house with me, I keep them at the same level as my cot since CO2 does not rise or fall. One at each side of the tent. You really only need one but I do a lot of camping so having two is nice just in case.

I have found that with the propane heat now that I have a diesel heater it is dry heat, I don't get the frost on the inside now with the diesel heater.

What kind of line do you use on the ice? Is it ice braid in white? I am so wary of all braid. I dunno why.
I use braid as a main line to a 10-20 foot floro leader
They really only see the floro leader but if they run I have a bunch of braid on there to keep ‘em pinned

When it’s that cold and the heater is on high, how many degrees do you think your tent is staying at?
Top of the tent is around 75, bottom was clearly below 32 of my water was still froze. Im gonna get another fan to push the air down I think that would help

A lot of places has 9 inches. I’m a few hours above the cities. There is 12 inches there now.
