Glad you’re feeling better my man! I’d give anything if I could shell all of those by hand with my grandma again and her be in her right mind. I bet we could go through a few gallons of tea!
Patrick Phil Sutton gota farm upstate new York use to grow 100 acres peas Procceer moved out of state it paid good money all grew corn and soybeans at one time also canola had to ship it to Canada to get it processed . If you're trucks won't hold water it won't canola I'm so impressed with your farm 14 crops a year .
@@philsutton8677 I like that statement “if your trucks won’t hold water, they won’t hold canola” 😂. 100 acres of southern peas, if hand picked, shelled and baggged has a retail value of $400,000-$475,000. Just hand picked and not processed would be worth $200,000-250,000.
Great work mate always looking forward to your videos especially with the produce love all your videos though keep up the great work and hopefully you are and feel better also same to your family mate hope y'all doing well cheers from Dean in Australia
Pre-plant twice incorporate yellow chemical (prowl or sonolan) at opposite angles. Make sure it is a shallow (2”) even incorporation. Plant the same day in enough moisture to get them up. If you get the rainfall they will canopy quick enough to avoid major weed issues, some years I have to plow middles once, but if you’re machine pick you want to avoid that. Main thing is never let weeds seed out on your land NO MATTER WHAT. Even at the cost of some of your crop, do whatever you can to get rid of weeds before they go to seed.

Bags come from Amazon, the label is a sticker. I label to retail sales, I leave label off of wholesale sales. My bags are thicker than any other pea sellers’. I have had occasional busted bags when we used what everyone else uses (and I’ve seen busted bags at other farms). I went to a 6 mil bag, have absolutely no durability issues and customers love it. 73 cents per bag.
Bifenthrin, acephate, mustang max, or karate. More importantly is timing, and amount of gallons per acre. You need a minimum of 15 gallons of water per acre in your spray
Your young boss "son" must be cutting labor cost..lol
Hello, Patrick! Have a good recovery! Your videos are always awaited...
Thanks Luis!

Just trying to make ends meet.
@@PatrickShivers Takes drive and a desire to excell as well. Very admirable qualities.
I have seen your peas growing in other videos. How do u keep them so clean? I spray select and cultivate, but mine aren’t nearly as clean as yours.

How many picked bushels (bags) did you start with to end up that many? Peas in the hull to shelled ratio? Love your videos.
99 bags yielded 149.5 shelled in the cooler. Best turn out I’ve ever had
@@PatrickShivers will the bags hold 2 bushels of unshelled peas?
@@1970mojorisin no
@@PatrickShivers thank you for your replies. Keep the videos coming.
Just curious what happens to the hulls and other stuff that comes from the cleaner is it composted or fed to the cows?
Fed to cows and chickens
What kind of pea sheller is that?
Thomson Industries
Where do you order those ziplocks with your logo on it?

These are fresh peas (that is, not dried down)?
Yes. They are succulent. All the peas I shell and sell (4 varieties) are fresh not dried down.
My peas get stung every year. What can I spray for that?
