Banger video as always! Great playing with you. 👍🏻 Thanks for the shoutout! Was trying to trap the guy who folded to your $100 raise, you ended up being collateral damage. lol. Can’t believe that guy folded an Ace.
On open bet sizing, it depends on if you have poker players or gamblers at the table. A gambler is only looking at the money; So, when you raise to 60 or so the gambler that has 300 in his stack and rags says, "Ok I'm going to call along with these other gamblers and when my rags hit, I'm going all in". Even if he doesn't get his jam called, he almost doubles his stack with 4 callers. If you don't inflate the pots preflop the gamblers will lose interest once they have to make a decision post flop causing them to fold more preflop to smaller open sizing as the game goes on.
You read that right on AJ hand at 6:15 he had just a Queen before the river! This is why is vital to pay attention to player's play at all times because people are a creatures of habit. --> Based on your description of the player beforehand he would have called you with that Q (any kicker, let alone the King) if you put him all in before the river. (I will say pot control is a under-rated skill in poker because it can save you from disaster.) This was prime example of perfect pot control knowing your opponent and knowing your hand was very vulnerable to suck outs on the river!
I hate the analysis 😅 The "way ahead or way behind " quote is always said/use when you don't know what in the hell you're doing. He could've many combos there where he would have called you on the flop and turn. Getting called on those street gives you info about the strength of his hand. The outcome of the hand doesn't matter, you misplayed your hand period. Examples of possible hands K-10,J-10,Q-X, A-X
You played very well. I like the big preflop raise with premiums, because those stations will pretty much call with any marginal hand. You definitely have to charge them for making such light calls. Stations don't like to fold
Live poker definitely more of a grind at the lower stakes, and usually at night/weekend is where you'll find the most casual fun running into characters. Really just have to grind out any W at the small stakes to stay ahead of the rake. At the end of the day, a little bit of luck can make the difference on staying on the right side of variance. For the right combination of pure luck, fun, and enraging tilt, there's always Omaha, PLO or limit Hi-Lo .
Nice solid win I honestly think you played everything well Doyle Brunson once said never slow play trips and over bet your pairs before the flop. Which I have always agreed with since seen my trips get beat several times before I started doing that I bet every street unless the cards a complete bust trying to let my opponent get an ace or king lol I may check the flop or turn once. But aces I never slow play and bet big because more people in pot more will have chance to crack them. Actually I said bet 65 like you did which thought it was enough cannot believe that many callers if I am on a great table where everyone calls anything and everything yes I step it up and way over bet 100 plus but no way did you or I think you were going to get that many callers good thing is the right person won in the end that should have all along. I do honestly think you play great and solid just read the table betting to try and isolate to one caller which is what I always tried to do. I played for a living 25 years ago before vlog or even pictures were allowed hit a bad beat wasn't even allowed to take pictures for jackpot or payout glad things changed. It's good you set limits of time and budget very wise as for 3 years made very good living at it but spent like 12 to 15 hours a day in casino which wasn't good as had teenage kids missed a lot as they grow up fast plus casino does get old even when winning when your there 7 days a week that many hours. Now days I just play for fun now and then but I just wanted to say I enjoy your videos your honesty. And 9 out of 10 times your doing the right things. I wish I could see you play to tell you if you have any tells but one advice if you don't do this always take same amount to call, check or bet, watch playing with your chips or stop playing with them as can be a tell if your like me and always play with them then same keep it consistent. Watch people's breathing or vein in neck as well as way they sit. If sit up and forward strong hand lay back and relaxed weak hand most times. Sure things like that you notice as I said your pretty smart and got good reads on oppenents. Good luck look forward to watching more. If I can help in any way be glad too. Jay from Tennessee 😎
Question I know you talk about playing online poker but correct if I am wrong don't you have to be in a state that allows gambling? I live in Tennessee hell we barely have lottery. So I am not allowed to play online sites for gambling correct unless something changed that I am not aware of? I usually go to Virginia or North Carolina to play poker in the casino. Thanks for your help. Jay from Tennessee 😎
Holding premium pairs. Depends upon game when trying to get just one caller. If you're in a game with 2 or more calling stations, sometimes you go huge. 2x or 3x the pot, and still get a caller. Othertimes, you've got 2 or more old man coffees. Then a 75% bet usually works, bringing in one or more of those not OMC. Normal table, or unknown players. I go just about where you were betting. $50 to $65 range in a $1-$2 game. Usually the same in a $1-$3 game. But I play in Texas. May not fit northern California
No real solution to people calling preflop and making hands multi way when you are in early position and first to raise.Sizing up so you are playing big pots post flop is really the best you can do. This problem is also the reason why low stakes games are more profitable: Wide calling range from a lot of players preflop.
In terms of raising with premiums, I suggest a larger sample size at $25 - $50 to see if the trend of multiple callers continue. If it does, would go higher.
When you say did you ask the floor/brush permission to film or doing it sneaky at TV? Also, I thought about stopping at Capitol since it was closer instead of driving 30min to TV, but you were right, that neighborhood is sketchy.
I might have just moved out of Northern CA but gotta ask, I thought ALL online poker for real cash was illegal in CA, did something change? Or is ClubGG all good with it? Maybe i can play in my new state...
Agreed for the most part. I did manage to fold out a better ace from the SB player who lead out but I didn’t take into account someone could be trapping with a flush draw out there!

As someone who has played hundreds of thousands of hands online, the only argument is the bankroll size. RTA, collusion and rake size is a detriment to online poker and it’s getting worse. Was at TV last night and ran flopped sets twice into overpairs that improved to bigger sets on the river after getting it all in on the flop. 1/3 was wild.
@@NorCal_Poker yea happy to get snap called with 85% equity on a flop. The play was definitely softer than I had expected considering a lot of the players were regs in the room.

You forgot to mention 2 most important things about online poker: First thing: House bots - not a single poker app or site without house bots. They're not just there to get you with a 2% chance, but also to throw you into mega tilt. The second thing is closely related to the first, and that's the large number of unreal hands that happen in live poker once in 3 months of daily playing. What happens in one day of online poker cannot be experienced for several months in live poker. I prefer to lose by having a human deal me cards rather than having a computer do it (which is, of course, programmed to take your money).
