Good to see you back, man. Fk Capitol Casion! Stones is smart to let you vlog.
KJ hand. I believe he was completely tilted and you would of stacked him. Love your channel and keep up the great work. 👍
Appreciate that! 🤝🏻
Thanks for the vlogs. I play 1/2 at my local casino and your low stakes play has given me amazing insight. Keep grinding!
Awesome & thanks that’s the goal!
The voice overs , he is a robot it’s so AI 🤣
I really am 🤖
Just wanted to let you know you’re my favorite poker TH-camr man. You really do keep it real. I appreciate you and good luck!
Appreciate the kind words, that’s always my goal! Good luck to you!
i always lose pocket aces like this lol. im done playing them
😆
@@NorCal_Poker how can i get better at 1/2 poker?
@@nicholasguerrero577 stick to a tight preflop range based on position, rarely bluff & value bet big when you have it!
@@NorCal_Poker where can I find the range chart? What range do I play
@@NorCal_Poker what range
You made some great folds that I know I would not have been able to do.
Got lucky I somewhat knew the players!
Because youre a beginner
Oh damn, must be that!
@NorCal_Poker i mean 5 years or less is beginner status
@ I dropped down for 2 weeks aka 2 more sessions just to chill before ramping it up in 2025!
Please keep making these videos. They are so good and help so many of us learn how we should be thinking
Loved the video. I think you will end up being a very very good player, loved the descriptions of all hands and reasons for calling/raising/folding
Appreciate the supportive words!
Aay...how's the rice doing?
Solid, had a little update in the video prior!
The rake at 1/2NL in California is near unbeatable.
It’s not easy, but luckily the game at stones plays a little deeper than usual with good action!
I believe bankroll management is the most underrated skill in poker, especially for someone playing regularly. Good on you for dropping down in stakes so you can still play your same style of poker.
Bankroll management is huge!
Why do u keep topping up, just curious?
Other players had more money on the table so I want just as much to play in big pots with the potential to increase my win rate
Rather the game is 1-2, 1-3 or 2-5 the game is the same other than how much money you are willing to risk. Ive pkayed all three and flopped a small full house and my opponent, that had deep pockets, chased me down with a bigger rivered full house. I bet my hand pre-flop, on the flop, turn and river and river. So these games are all based on the mind set of how much money are you willing to risk.
So,WHY?
🤔
AK vs 99 hand: in these spots, I think it’s 100% fine to just check fold this. They’ll tell you where you’re at if you check to them. Other than that, I think you played really well this episode. Keep it up!
I can see that! & appreciate it!
That fold with pockets QQ is great...i know i would never make that type of fold unless i know the players very well...
Didn’t know the guy but it was more of a timing tell!
I love the vlog man! I dont really want to critique you because youre out here doing it and making it happen! So props to you. But at this point (ive watched half of the video) you are super passive. I think you can boost your winrate if you 3bet more often especially in position. Youre playing a lot of multiway flops because (in my opinion) you're not being aggressive enough pre. I know 1 2 players love being trappy, but try turning up the aggression a bit pre flop and play less hands per hour but more bigger pots and i think your win rate will shoot up!
So when you had the k4 pf spades for example, you got the pretty close to the most value so good job, but without being results oriented I think you could've pressed him a bit harder and applied pressure with check raising. I know you stated in the video "no low stakes player is folding an ace." I just don't agree. I've played alot of 1 2 in my day and if you have a tight non bluffing image, people will fold stuff like 2 pairs top pairs etc. His bet sizings tells screamed to me that he was on a weak draw or had at best top pair with a bs kicker. You can apply alot of pressure to those hands and fold them out. Sure, you will get called by donkeys and lose hands sometimes, but playing with a more aggressive mindset in those positions is going to be positive EV I promise.
Like I said man, mad respect to you for putting up your videos and what not. I don't mean to come on here and critique you so I'm hoping you take it as feedback, I'm not talking down to you at all. Your mindsets though, you whether consciously or subconsciously always look for reasons to be passive and find checks and folds (sometimes they are great folds but alot of the time you're just either losing value or giving draws free cards.) Your hand matters less than the opponents range. I think if you get in that mindset your winrate will shoot up alot! Like for example the AJ suited hand your reason for not 3 betting was there was a solid player to your left and you don't want to bloat the pot. Sometimes you're going to get 4 bet and sometimes tou gotta lay it down but you're taking a pretty solid hand and going in with minimum value just because there's a guy to your left who hasn't acted that may 4 bet you or call and now the pots large. (Yes I understand AJ suited isn't an elite hand but it's a good enough hand to isolate with for sure.) Hopefully I'm articulating my point clearly.
Solid 🤝🏻
You’re letting them get there on the turn or the river just hammer it all the way through and the drawers will fold. I have the same problem buddy by the river. They’re usually ahead if I’m on a draw and I can get to the river I’m usually ahead but nobody else lets me get there. They be like a maniac. You should do the same.
🫡
@ you’re also very good at getting away from big pocket pears when you’re sure your beat
You got a new house, new baby, AND maxed out your retirement accounts? What a loser!
Just kidding, love your videos and I'm probably most impressed with the new house AND maxing retirement more than any poker winnings! <3
And congrats on the new baby! I miss the new baby smell
Day 10!
🤔
The river lead when you hit hand is an extremely fishy play. I guess depends on how bad your opponents are
Unless you think the opponent will value own themselves, which is rare at 1/2, then the river lead is essential
Losing the minimum is an important facet of poker that often gets over looked. Sometines ya just gotta remember: when you're beat, you're beat. A good quality to have in the mix. Always enjoy the vlogs and thanks for sharing!
I try to keep that perspective often & thanks for the support! 🙌🏻
might have been a negative trip but got away from some good hands that woulda lost you alot more so take that as a W!
True, I’ll take it!
Two things the way you look at your cards if someone is sitting correctly they will be able to see your hand, and when you have value you should bet no free cards. Solid playing. GL
I like it, thanks!
I would rather watch u play 1/3..... but i still like ur blog, i definitely understand getting hit by life
It’ll be back in a couple weeks, just taking a breather!
@NorCal_Poker i definitely understand
Keep it up! Love your videos! What app do you use to track your winnings and loses?
Thank you & it’s called poker income!
Good on you for keeping it real. It is so easy to get caught up in the Grind and overlook the costs involved.
Ain’t that the truth!
15" POKER HAAAAARRRRDDD 🙌 👌
I’m the realist commenter out there and I’m going tbh right now.. winning 9 sessions in a row and dropping down in stakes makes absolutely no sense!
Haha I see your point!
Your lucky that's all you lost.
Not wrong!
Dats poker, you're playing good and good hands get beat sometimes.
And I swear your first hand on part 2 with AQ is how I win LOL All in with by far the worse odds..yet spike the card you need.
Whatever it takes!
Poker ruined in Austin. Poker clubs 1/2 games are now $500 max buy in. So enjoy the good 1/2 where you're at while they last.
20:18… no, no thats not true at all
lol what is??
@ you said… “being upstuck is the worst feeling in Poker.” Nope… being upstuck is just fine with me thanks.
The fact you own a home and maxing out retirement accounts you’re ahead of %99 of ppl your age
Dude sorry but you’re not a good player, I’d steal every pot from you smh
Oh no
Rampage would be on his 5 th rebuy if he was in your seat lol .
lol
Hi there, first time viewer from Australia, i like the fact you are playing at low stakes similar to a majority of the poker community. I would recommend having a look at hungry horse poker to try to increase your win rate, i didnt see you bluff at all, i'll definitely keep watching though, have a great Christmas and New Year
Thanks for the support from overseas!
Man Im so glad you are back! Congrats on the deal!
Appreciate that! 🤝🏻
Still hoping to catch you one of these days at stones. Never seem to catch you and Doug McCusker at capitol when you were still playing there.
Usually play morning weekdays!
I only play 1/2 so as a content consumer this is great, smart choice though good explanation
Thanks!
Another great vlog! So glad you’re back!! Keep up the great work!!!
Appreciate that & will do!
LOVE YOUR VLOGS MAN , KEEP'EM COMING!!!❤🔥
Appreciate that!!
13:25 I think you make a mistake not betting that turn card with how wet the board is. Don’t have to go big, but continuing your line and imagine uncaps your range instead of capping it on the river. I would go half pot, or even smaller and let him call with his weak shit, and he will raise his strong stuff. Players at this level almost scream at you in their betting sizes on what their holding. River is unfortunate and at this stake he probably never folds a flush there but if the river bricks you can get max value.
I see your point!
1/3 with match stack isn't playable if you aren't buying in 2-3k now. It plays like a 5-10 now. 15 years ago you would buy in for the 5/10 for 500-1k.
I see your point!
Thanks for being real. I enjoy watching the small stakes more than the larger ones, its more relatable, as most of us only play low stakes anyway. Hopefully a better run next go around!
Appreciate all that!
It's great to see your back! Congrats on the harvest, kid, and home! You're my favorite poker blogger! (also like Valdez) I can tell you are a big sports guy so my quick critique from your vid Defensive poker skills: Solid A Offensive poker skils: D- I'm sure you know you should always try to isolate, even Aces are usually only 49% or lower vs a field of 3 Another example on your QTc hand and the board is J-J-8 don't be afraid to lead out on the turn after a check or small call on the flop. You will look like you were slow playing a J or something like a large pocket pair and just trapping as you take charge of the betting on 4th street. It's somewhat of a bad example because your opponent had 98. So too small, and they call and hit their straight, but that's when you should check as you will have top paid decent kicker for showdown value... rightplay in the long run. Happy Holidays can't wait for the next video!
Solid example & appreciate the feedback & support, happy holidays!
do you watch wolfgang lol? i noticed the cinco de mayo bet
On occasion!
