You had me confused because in your first curve pattern you omitted to show that at first you had a count of just 2, ending up with half a dimple at the bottom. When you started that curve pattern it shows a count of 2, but you said 7 and altered it. Once I realised what had been omitted all went ok.
Way too much effort for something that should be simple. There should be a feature to add points over a surface and apply a pattern to those anchor points.

Yes, that value "2" stuck from my practice run for the video-sorry for the confusion, but happy to hear that all went well in the end.
