Its nice to see you use "normal" basswood instead of "magical" basswood that others use, where they just TOUCH it and huge chunks come flying off or they cut huge strips off of it by simply laying their knives on it! That is incredibly frustrating! It's nice and refreshing to see someone else have to make more than one cut on a piece of basswood and not just "touch and cut" as "others" do! I have seen and understood more from your one video than watching others for over a month! Well done!

Very talented and love that your teaching your daughter as well. To help the audience though slow down ! Say they block size and measurements you’re using. Whistle and fast forwarding so fast we can’t even tell dimensions. Love watching you and have my son watching as well but someone his age 10 and very good for his age can’t keep up , pause computer and compute fast enough.
I'm sorry if it was uncomfortable. You can control the speed of the video on your TH-cam video screen, so I edited it at an Normal speed from my video (praying woman) episode to now. Thank you for watching

사용하시는 조각도 는 어디껀가요? 구매하고싶은데 조언 좀 구할수 있을까요
제가 사용한 조각도는 미국 occ tools라는 회사의 제품인데요 국내에선 구입을 할수가
없어요 저 같은 경우는 지인이 미국출장길에 구입해온거라. . .ㅠ 제가 사용하는 조각도중 국내 구입 가능한 제품으론 플렉스컷(flexcut)제품이 사용하기 좋은거 같아요.
이런 나무는 어디서 구할수 있나요?
인터넷에 조각용나무 검색하시면 쉽게 찾을수있어요 마티카, 은행나무, 피나무 등등 공사장에서 흔히 쓰는 다루끼라 불리는 각목도 조각하기 쉽구요
@@woodcarver 답변 감사합니다! 사실 이미 검색을통해 마티카,은행나무 등을 구입해서 우드카빙을 시도 해봤었는데요.
선생님이 하시는거나 해외영상처럼 칼이 부드럽게 들어가지 않더라고요, 힘을 굉장히 많이줘도 정말 조금 깎입니다.. 그래서 진행이 잘 되지않고요
사용한 칼은 비버크래프트에서 나온 2만원상당에 우드카빙용을 칼을 썼는데 날카롭기는 충분해보여서
제가 쓰고있는 나무가 문제 일까? 싶어서 질문드렸었는데
칼이 문제인걸까요?

@@camco4301 처음 나무를 구입하면 나무에 수분이 좀 많을수 있어요 조각하기전 2~3일정도 그늘에서 건조후 사용해보세요
요즘같은 장마철엔 블랭크관리가 좀. 까다롭죠 ㅠ 그리고 비버크래프트의 조각칼은 칩카빙용으로. 나온거라 날이좀 두꺼워요 깊게 칼이 먹질 않죠 한번에 많은 양을. 덜어내려고. 하지 말고 조금씩 여러번 깍는방식으로 해보세요 두꺼운 날은 깍는 방식이 또 다르거든요 비버크래프트 나이프도 조각하기엔 충분하지만 얇은 날을 원하시면 좀 비싸편이지만 페일 카나드조각칼 이나 플렉스컷 조각칼 추천 드리구요 제 영상 “목각인형 조각하기”편에 사용한 조각칼이 모라나이프 122인데 그칼역시 두께가 두꺼운 나이프라 숫돌에 갈아 얇게 만든 칼이에요 가장 애착가는 나이프중에 하나죠

Two words, DOUG LINKER! It almost looks like you are copying him and his projects
I started carving because of Doug linker’s video. I'm still learning sculpture by watching his videos. Doug is my mentor
Or the other way around perhaps?
Is that a bad thing? Everyone learns from a teacher and everyone develops their own style. This is exactly why Doug makes videos. To teach and inspire. And I’d say he achieved that well.
Also, Doug lifted this character from Mike Shipley. He said so in one of his videos.
Good stuff mate doug showed me how to carve to your doing awesome job keep it up don't worry about other ppls judgements
Don't we all. Doug encourages us to take his carvings and make them our own, have fun, change the features etc. The way we all learn from our teachers is by copying, until we feel able to make our own pieces. Just as Doug Linker, Gene Messer, SharonMyArt etc have done, these little characters don't belong to them alone, they don't hold a copy-right. I personally am following Doug he's a great teacher and I'm copying many of his carvings and I'm bloody proud of my copies. ddalo is a good carver, I think his videos are a bit quite, but that's a different matter. Who do you copy?
