Another great carving Kevin. Thanks. On my way back home from the last time I saw you I stopped by Home Hardware in Carbonear & picked up some 2x10 white pine. I appreciate you telling me about that.
Thank you for your very helpful videos. Love all the fishermen. I wonder if you could ever do a video for carving a little bearded, hooded monk figure, suitable for novices? Can’t seem to get it right myself
A fabulous addition to the collection of fishermen. You've got me completely hooked on whittling these guys and this little fellow will make the 7th one in my collection. Thank you for the inspiration and sharing your great talent.
Mark, I had a lot of trouble with my hands since Christmas. I done very little carving since then. I took a new job this spring and haven't had much time to carve. Plan on getting back at the videos soon though. Keep an eye out. Thanks
Love the carving! Very few farmers wearing oilskins on the Prairies, but I love the look!! Is that a modified chip carving knife you are using for details. Very effective.
Dang love the little guy. That wood doesnt look as nice as the rest of the carvers on TH-cam. Is it pine ? Tough carving thanks as always enjoy your videos

Your knife must be incredibly sharp, you make that wood look like butter.

For the most part the pine is decent but I get some not so good pieces occasionally. Thank you
Nice tutorial. Is that smaller knife, just a chipping knife that you are using ?
Thank you Kevin. It’s an OCC knife that was given to me but it looks like a chip carving knife
Great vid as always Kevin, I love the fishermen. They remind me of my dad and I fishing many moons ago.
What wood was that you had this time?
Thank you Richard. It’s the white pine
Are you giving the fish knife a rest🤔
I haven’t used it much in the videos lately but I use it most everyday
Hello, which tree are you using
It’s white pine
What is the size of the block you used?
It’s 6” x 2.5” x 2”
