Actually feeling healthy!!!! Goodbye life long illness!!!!!!

I had heartburn at 12, and incontinence by 16 was chronically bloated and constipated. Reached the breaking point when I found out I had severe bone loss at age 33. Now littery, none of that except the bone loss & the psoriasis has a couple patches that are still fading. The rest of the symptoms are gone entirely! Food is amazing!

I was diagnosed maybe five or six years ago. Gah, it was so hard to get a diagnosis because it mimicked everything else. My first symptoms were excruciating joint pain, severe sun sensitivity (my body would break out in hive-like bumps at minimal sun exposure) and debilitating fatigue. I was lucky enough to find a brilliant medical team, and I owe everything to them, including their decision to put me on hydroxychloroquine instead of steroids. My organ functions are better than I thought they would be, but I am worried about my kidneys, and my calcium is way, way, way too high for some reason, and that can cause liver damage. Though things have changed since this video came out, it's still a great explanation of what SLE is without throwing keywords and terms at you that aren't understandable.
Your channel is amazing, I'm actually watching every related video to a specific disease before diving into my books! Thank you very much for your great channel 😎❤
apoptosis does not lead to an inflammatory reaction! in apoptosis the cell is divided into many vesicles with an eat-me signal on the outside of their membrane. the vesicles then get digested by macrophages. this way nothing from the inside of the cell (proteins, dna, etc) gets outside the cells which would trigger an inflammatory reaction. what's described in the video is necrosis, which is unprogrammed cell death and in which the cell bursts and cell contents are released and trigger an inflammatory reaction.
There seem to be important distinctions between the two processes, Necrosis and Apoptosis, that would warrant a possible edit to the video. Are there no methods to induce apoptosis in these damage cells so that inflammation isn't triggered?.

She's going through so much and people still make fun of her illness. I think she's very inspiring about opening up about her mental health❤

Meeting Dr Ewi1 on TH-cam has really been one of the best day of my life after years of suffering I have been finally cured from lupus thanks doc God bless you,
I am a high school biology student and this video helps me a lot to do my project about Lupus
Glad to be of help, Oriana! 😊
I have had APS/ autoimmune illness all my life and have finally learned it comes from food!!!! I went 100% organic and have had more progress in 5 months than I've had with any treatment over my 34 years of seeking help. I had to give up all the goodies, you might only need to give up 1, or 3 like red meat, gluten, dairy, nightshade vegetables, caffeine, sugar, and anything highly processed. It's amazing! Actually feeling healthy!!!! Goodbye life long illness!!!!!!
What symptoms do you have?
@9doyouknow09 I had severe psoriasis since 4, I had my first blood clotting episode when I was 10, & many more since then.
@@Wildewhitley thank you..I am going to follow that .

I wish I knew people with lupus. I was diagnosed 2 months ago, I’m currently 16 and I feel so alone, I don’t know why there aren’t any teen support groups anywhere, I’ve been searching for awhile
Well, now you do. I have sle lupus.
What are first symptoms?
I feel you, I was diagnosed when I was 13 years old. I'm 19 and I still haven't met any teenager with lupus
@@mihaelatepsic3264 For me I thought I had carpal tunnel syndrome for the longest time, I’d have really bad pains in my joints and I couldn’t even sleep at night. My hands and feet would get swollen and I was really sick. You’ll know when or if somethings wrong, I had to spend a week in the hospital when I was first diagnosed because my lungs were collapsing and I had a few other issues. Hope you’re doing well.

A very good thing about this channel is... The recape of whole lecture in few secs
For 2 years my doctors, many rheumatologist and immunologists thought I was fool and tried to convince me I didn t have it. The disease progressed and I needed to go to a clinic in Russia with physicians for them to do deeper analysis and put a diagnosis just more than a month ago. This disease is the worst possible thing with some of other AD and cancers, after my stem cell treatment hope will be better and I have nothing to lose. The worst thing is that after plenty researches I understood that I m the only responsible because the lifestyle I had during the 2016-2017 academic year... So frustrating
How did your treatment go
I love when he said we totally got this. I made me let out a sigh of relief thanks osmosis!! the first semester of advanced patho, and these vids are helping tremendously!!

You (guy or guys) are so great. Thank you so much. The speaker is great too -but I'd recommend him to slow down at the important points and leave his fast speech for the already (ought-to-be) known facts.-
He's great.
Thanks so much ❤️
I got to know from Quora about this channel and it seems as if I have discovered a treasure.Kudos to the team who are so efficient in explaining the topics in such a short span.Very helpful❤

I was just diagnosed. Thank you for this video.
I just found out i had lupus today after getting a skin biopsy for a face rash last week. I got my blood taken after my dermatologist appointment and they said ill know in about a week what kind it is. Im hoping its the kind that just effects the skin. My younger brother gets that same face rash too, but he doesnt have insurance. I hope he finds a good job soon so he can go get checked.

Hello, I am a 16-year-old patient of SLE. Now I am in a stable period after treatment, but I realize that many people around me do not know about this disease. I hope I can do some publicity and science popularization work. I think the explanation in the [specific scenarios ] paragraph is very simple and easy to understand! BTW I will mark your account and link when making popular science videos in China. Thank you.
We wish you all the best and we're glad that you appreciate our video 🥰❤️🙏🏼

This channel is a life saver , my pathology teacher she gives us packets and powerpoints but I learn and understand the material better in a video and someone explaining it in full detail with photos. Thank you 😊
First of all, Congrats i'm a big fan of your videos. As far as I know the anti-dsDNA and Anti-Sm are antinuclear antibodies as well, so, it should´t be described as "other autoantibody", am i right ?. Thanks for your videos !
Unfortunately, my ANA was negative, and it’s taken years for an answer. I have NPSLE and it took my rheumatologist 1.5 years to put it together. The symptoms I have: RA, Aps, osteoporosis, I’ve had 2 TIA’s, and now shaking in hands, memory loss, uncontrollable movements, peripheral neuropath, and Hashimoto’s…my kidneys and liver are in need of a lot of help. My last labs show my RBC’s too low. Bun too low, Bun/creatinine, too low. Lesions in nose, mouth, skin…W/ all the symptoms, he put it together. Thankfully he found it! Now a treatment plan can begin!

This is incredible, what recommendations could you give me to be a good researcher?
Study. Study your little heinie off! And read about one thing after another, like a trail of breadcrumbs that leads you to your answer. Oh, and Curiosity. Have it ALWAYS in your heart. You'll be great, I know, because you cared enough to ask. Looking forward to the great work you give to the world!
Though things have changed since this video came out, it's still a great explanation of what SLE is without throwing keywords and terms at you that aren't understandable.
glad you are better.
Hope you are are fine and doing well. My sister-in-law is also suffering from this problem since 2017.
Please tell me,sle specialist doctors lam sle patient

apoptosis does not lead to an inflammatory reaction! in apoptosis the cell is divided into many vesicles with an eat-me signal on the outside of their membrane. the vesicles then get digested by macrophages. this way nothing from the inside of the cell (proteins, dna, etc) gets outside the cells which would trigger an inflammatory reaction.
what's described in the video is necrosis, which is unprogrammed cell death and in which the cell bursts and cell contents are released and trigger an inflammatory reaction.
snowinseptember 7 thats right!
There seem to be important distinctions between the two processes, Necrosis and Apoptosis, that would warrant a possible edit to the video. Are there no methods to induce apoptosis in these damage cells so that inflammation isn't triggered?.
You can have inflammation from apoptosis if the clearance is slow
I think they just forgot to mention that in SLE, you have impaired apoptosis process so apoptosis resembles necrosis.
necrosis is not programmed cell death,
Today was my pathology exam and I just watched this video the previous night as I could not understand the text. It was so helpful. I got question on SLE in the exam. Thank you so much for such crisp summary of one of the major diseases in medicine.

thank you for this well informative video. I have been trying to explain these things to ppl for a very long time. Diagnosed in 1992....
I posted this on my Facebook page, and I know it will be viewed there.
Thanks!
Hey. My mother was Diagnosed 2 month ago. How do you get through this. How are you feeling. Can u live with this?
I was suffering from severe joint pain in my fingers small joints, although i don't usually get any rash but my hand hurts a lot more when I am exposed to sun for long or in very cold temperature/in Air conditioned place for too long, I recently got tested positive for Antinuclear Antibodies with high intensity (++++) ..my rheumatologist ruled out it as SLE even though i don't have all the symptoms of it!
So happy I found Osmosis! Wonderful teaching tool and enriching for students in class mid-lecture. Thank you +++
Finally found an interesting way to study pathology... Really very helpful
All I know is Selena Gomez has it so I looked it up. Only one?? Ok
Bruh same here
Me
I know same! I remember hearing her having a kidney transplant back in 2017 before I was a fan of hers. For some reason I got really interested and started looking up about lupus. After that I became a huge fan of hers. She's very opened about talking about lupus. I remember I felt really bad for her when I watched Selena and Chef and when she does her make up her hand keeps shaking because of her Lupus. She's going through so much and people still make fun of her illness. I think she's very inspiring about opening up about her mental health❤
Sorry for her. You should know what to eat, and what not depending on your "immune system". I will cover this subject and other autoimmune diseases in my place on this website. Good luck !
