I am beyond happy to see a Taido inspired character, it's such an obscure but cool martial art. It's like Japanese capoiera and is so good for a video game, but never got used.

Wouldn't it be neat if Heihachi's fighting spirit actually becames the replacement of the current Devil/Azazel entity? Kazuya dies or loses the devil gene thanks to Jun, Jin dies or frees himself overcoming Devil Jin, Azazel is finally destroyed with a coordinated effort by the Sirius, Zafina and Jin team... and the Reina emerges like the first of the new warriors infused with the power from Heihachi, who never got the devil gene because he actually always was the next demon of rage and violence.

"Jin senpai..." is said in a mocking fashion; listen to the pitch. She immediately takes a condescending tone with him afterward. She's probably referring to him as "senpai" in relation to his control of the Zaibatsu. "You'll know soon enough..." makes sense if you recall Kazuya's first fight with Lars. Kazuya figured out Lars was a Mishima because of their fight. Following that logic, Kazuya will know she's a Mishima because of their fight as well. In other words, the lightning is canonical.
When i see her hair i think of another son of Heiachi Violet 🤫 People always forget the 2 other son of Heiachi 😅 the twins Lee Chaolan & Violet. That look she more a Jin cousin's or an Heiachi clones
Reina's "Hypnotist Stance" is probably just a slower version of Heihachi's run away sidestep and laugh move. I think the dev team has had enough trying to balance that one haha...
I think she is a daughter of Violet not Heiachi himself. We have many word in her description who's give who's her father (Violet lightning, the duality (violet is the twins of lee Chaolan) etc ...) I've see certains move of Lee Chaolan & violet in her style.
The statue doesn't look like Akuma, Akuma looks like the statue. That's an Oni, a mythological figure from traditional Japanese folklore which Akuma's design is heavily inspired from.
The Jin Senpai thingy is because she obviously trained under Heihachi, which Jin did too (for Tekken 3) meaning Jin got trained first and she is younger than him at least as a pupil.
She has heavy Heihachi influence, but im also seeing Asuka and Kazuya type of moves in this trailer... shes definitely a mishima, but Im curious how she ties in with the Akuma like statue... Shes already on a throne of sorts and Reina means Queen / Empress
And akuma is litterally translated to demon, to me it looks like a regular ass demon. Chevalier means knight so for victor you could say some shi and azucena her name kinda implies purity and flowers and shi, she has a flower on her head. Seems like they're going the pun intended route with these names ngl

I've never really been into girl characters in fighting games, but this might be the first one I'll main. (Coming from a Heihachi player lol) This honestly reminds me of Master Raven when I first saw her. I was sad to see my man go, but I welcomed the new and improved girl version. Hopefully Mecha Heihachi comes back as DLC or in Tekken 9, similarly to how Raven made a badass return.

We have yet *another* 'super cool, sick, badass old guy' character in the form of Victor. 🙄 It's kind of disappointing, actually. I feel like Namco would've gotten so much respect by introducing an older female fighter to the franchise, in the modern fighting game era

Weird to introduce another Mishima at this point in the series, but she doesn't seem to have gimmicks I don't like similarly to Jinpachi or Kazumi and she has the key Mishima moves, which means I'll probably like her moveset, despite not liking her uninspired look, hopefully if she's anything like Heihachi story-wise, she's like the old Heihachi, a straight-up villain.
