I like how she fights exactly like Heihachi but still has her own style going on, relying more on speed than brute force. It translates her personality really well.
Interesting where the changes are! I feel the times where she changes things up is either: - Reina doesn't have as much brute force as Heihachi, instead using some of her agility to make up for it (1:33), or going for a different strategy entirely. (1:44) - Other times, while Heihachi is a very stoic straightforward old karate man, Reina is a bit more youthful and a bit more cocky (3:36), sometimes even sadistic. (3:50)
nice noticing all of these! really love how they changed all of these, and was able to kept the fighting style/moves pretty much the same, but separates the characters quite distinctively
Sadly i think harada will not be putting heihachi back even in the non canon tag games as he's VA is already gone and harada has stated that due to this and out respect that not even a voice alike would not do so yeah no heihachi going forward

I like that some of Heihachi's movements are changed for Reina to compensate for her smaller frame. Some attacks require her to do flips to generate more force, some requires her to move forward to keep distance, and so on. Some moves are just absent because she lacks the weight and size to do it (or at least i think that was the intention).
Yeah we all need to remember that despite being an old man by end times of Tekken 3-7. Hei was a brutal pressure monster with both muscle bulk and height to back up his moveset of damaging blows. Man I'm remembering trauma fighting him in Tek1 arcade.

I think it's obvious she is a lab child, she doesn't "love" Heihachi because he raised her or anything, I bet this is brainwashing. Her age and the devil gene just makes no sense, she has to be a genetic experiment like Steve Fox
Almost identical, but as it's noticeable that Reina needs follow ups on some of the moves because she's not causing as much damage compare to heihachi.
Yeah because they insisted that she be visually busy because she is a smaller female frame, so functionally similar tools from Hei, needlessly have to have more strikes involved that otherwise fulfill the same role in the kit. Honestly she just doesn't hit (pun intended) the same as her old man. I personally would have loved to see her strike hard with less visual flair as that is something sorely lacking with female characters. And no it's not a balancing issue.
Sigh... Here's hoping heihachi makes it back through some nonsensical anime plot device. She isn't doing it for me on almost any level honestly. Being a pressure monster like her old man is nice, but multiple strikes on many of her heihachi analogous moves is obnoxious. I basic example of this is her 2,2,2,1 string compared to Hei's 1,b2 string.
I wonder how Heihachi mains feel about him not being in the game. At least Reina is there carry on his moves, so Heihachi mains can still have fun with the moves that made them main him in the first place.

As Matro said. It feels bittersweet. I loved to overly pressure my opponents with Heihachi and just laugh in glee when I get to pummel them about, until I fight the more season Tekken battlers and its a glorious mind game match between us. Reina, extremely cool and living up to her father's legacy, still needs a bit of time and practice to get use to. Definitely a tad faster than Hei but some of the move sets act differently now or have a different impact than Hei's. So yeah, while missing the old bastard. The legacy lives on and I just need to adapt to Reina's style of Mishima Karate.
I noticed that there's really only a very few amount of Heihachi mains that are against Reina replacing him. I could count on my hand the amount of comments that are outraged by it. This is the complete opposite of when Josie was revealed. You'd see comments complaining about her replacing Bruce everywhere back then. Most claimed they didn't like that Bruce was replaced by a little girl, but Reina's massive positive reception pretty much shows that the issue with Josie wasn't that she was a cute little girl, it's just that she wasn't that cool and had she been better designed especially in personality, Bruce fans might've liked her.
