- #ad #CSPartner #ColumbiaPFG Come with me on a solo sea kayaking and fishing journey on the Sunshine Coast in BC! It was great partnering with @columbiapfg because planning this trip was a lot of work on my own. Not having to worry about having the right comfortable clothing was super helpful!

ABOUT ME
Hi I'm Loui! I am an adventurer at heart who loves to share every step of the way. My travels so far ,via camper van, jeep camper, and foot, have taken me all over North America. I started this channel in 2019 in hopes of inspiring other people like me who didn't exactly grow up living an adventurous lifestyle and who might be afraid to get started on their own adventures. Since then, it has turned into my full time job and something that I very passionate about. So, stick around to see the journey unfold!

Loui, I am a 74 yr man and I still get out to as close to the middle of nowhere as I am able, but less than before. I first met you while watching Simon. The first time I asked "why?", the second time I saw you on Foresty was "well ok" and the third time was "hmmm, if Simon is in, there must be something to this lady" and I began to watch. It is a joy to watch you jump off into nothingness (or as close as you might have ever been) and working without a net, or not much of one. Keep on, You are an inspiration and a joy... and an important person. (Oh, yes, how many other outdoor channels can one hear 'amalgamate'?)
Very well said, Good Sir
Like all things in life, you don't know if you don't try. Love that you're not afraid to do things alone. Be brave, be safe & free! ❤
Love this video, daughter ❤ So wonderful adventuring along with you. Thanks for taking us along. Didn't know you spoke bird 😂
😂
That had me chuckling! 🤣
Hahaha thank you mom! I’ve been working on my seagull dialect for years now 😂
@@AdventureTimeLoui😂❤
LOL @ 1:40 -- paddle to shore, get out of kayak, setup camera, get back in kayak, paddle out, turn around, paddle to shore ha ha ha
It takes FOREVER. Glad someone noticed 😂
@@AdventureTimeLoui Your efforts are appreciated.
It's definitely noticed :) thank you for sharing..
Lol @ "I haven't started talking to coconuts yet" 😂😂😂
Louis you never cease to amaze us! You and Nomadic Introvert keep me on the edge of my seat! I am waiting for a documentary
Hi Loui, knowing that I live in Sacramento since 1996 and seeing that you and your family are from here makes me clap even louder for you. You have shown and huge amount of courage and have not let anything stand in your way. Love the fact that you literally go any and everywhere overlanding. If there is a way to send products or whatever to you please let me know. You are deserving. My wife and I love seeing you be so adventurous.
Thank you for watching friend! Glad to rep my childhood town of Sacramento!
I always appreciate the little things that make videos like this great that I don't think a lot of people notice. Like at 1:40 you took the time to get to shore, set up the camera, get back in the kayak and paddle out to come back for the shot. That's a lot of time and effort!
Thank you for watching! I love the whole process of getting every shot 🥰
You're a brave young lady. Beautiful scenery. Thanks for taking us along. I loved this video.
YOU DO YOU!! And Thank You for Sharing your Adventures. It may just help someone else to get out of their comfort zone (Including myself). I see you as incredibly brave and capable.
I did a paper in high school ( many moons ago ) about how, especially young people, perceive themselves as being judged by others. The overwhelming conclusion is that a majority of people that you think are judging you are actually more concerned about how the world sees them.. Essentially, they don't doubt whether you are capable because they don't know your internal dialogue, they doubt themselves based in preconceived notions.
Perfect little adventure! Thanks for taking us along.
You got some salt water kayaking, caught a fish, had a chat with a seagull, and had an encounter with a seal!
Hope William is doing well!
See you in the next one!
Thanks for watching! See y’a in the next one!
LOUI,
Welcome back and thanks for your latest upload. We love you and William no matter how long you stay away. 🥰
Loui,
I just love how you're living and I absolutely love your beautiful hair...
Loving your creative camp meals!
Great video Loui! However l miss William. Hope he is having a great time as well.😊
Where is he?
Where is he?
I miss him too, hope he’s ok.😊
:) WELL DONE and THANKS MUCH for sharing! ALL the BEST and Cheers! ! ! :)
That looked like such a peaceful place.
Thank you for sharing your journey :) it really inspires and motivates!
When eating shellfish, after cooking appropriately .... add Tabasco sauce and wait 2 minutes...Tabasco kills it all and cleans pennies!
BTW...you're a doll....the scenery alone is worth the watch....you're the gravy.
Cool to see you fishing! That seal was really neat. Probably would have scared the bejeebers out of me! Love your videos, Loui.
I loved this video. The scenery was beautiful. ❤
There is huge strength in being human. More so than being super-human. I am always anxiously awaiting your next post. Pace yourself. The lovely person that you are shines through in your on-screen persona. Wishing you the very best.
What a lovely area of Canada/BC. Even if the fishing is a bit lacking, the views are beautiful.
I am so proud of you for continuing to challenge yourself 🎉
One with nature has to battle with courage to survive!!... Great video.. 👍
I don't know about some of those meals Loui 🤣, but I'll take your word for it that they're good.
What a great adventure! We never know how strong and capable we are until we give things a shot. Plus we learn a lot about ourselves in the process. Nicely done 💕
Love your spirit, Louie, don't let the naysayers distract you from your goals. Many ppl need to understand that someone isn't so helpless just because she's a woman....duh.... keep on paddling 🇨🇦🏕😉👍 Love your shoes, so cool 👡
Fun video. Multi-engine mosquitoes! Great adventure on the water. Thanks for sharing.
Is William with Foresty Forest? Great adventure video.
Yea where is William???
You are Awesome!! Well done lady, well done!! So glad you didn't get devoured by mosquitoes.:)
I have gotten into fishing this year and this past weekend I caught my first smallmouth bass. There is always the one that got away that was a decent size but there was someone with me to see it. LOL!!! Cheers from the other coast of Canada...New Brunswick.
Great video. Such beauty on the ocean. I know what you mean about kayaking on a rough ocean. I don't like rough waters either. I like how you make your own food pkgs. Mosquitoes I don't like and tenting I don't do anymore now I'm in my sixties. It's nice to follow young people on adventures though.
Great footage and commentary as always!
It's good that you're being cautious about windy conditions on the water. I knew very seasoned kayakers when I lived up in qathet, and they would cancel trips rather than take on a windy crossing. How cool that you were catching some fish!! It looks like such a choreographed dance to manage rods, paddles, nets! I'm really glad you felt safe camping. It's so strange to see you out without William. If you go further up the coast, past Powell River, there is a beach just before Tla Amin called Gibson's beach. The bottom fish are crazy abundant there. I used buzz bombs which are a lure and weight combined. I was jigging for salmon about 50 yards off the beach. But everytime my lure touched bottom, I'd get a rockfish on the line! mostly all sole. Easiest way to cook them is to gut them and then put them over the fire whole. It's real easy to pick off the delicious meat.
Awesome!!!
What a cool trip! Thanks for talking about what it's like trying to adventure as a solo female and other people's lack of support and imagination. I've heard it and felt it too. ❤
Please, in the future, DO NOT EVER have an ENTIRE solo video that does not explain where your co-star is. William? Where are you??? Are you okay??? 😂
What a fun adventure!
It's so good to see you again Loui!!! You have been greatly missed!!! Thank you for sharing your adventure with us in beautiful BC!!! I'm looking forward to your sharing more of your travels this summer!!! You are so appreciated ❤!!!
Sending you big hugs 🤗!!!
I had to go check and see if I missed a video about you getting a sea kayak. Very cool trip Ms. Loui. Thanks.
Fun stuff, great job
This was so freaking amazing.
Not sure if you use Cutter to repel mosquitos, insects, etc., but it is the best!
All the best to everyone.
Come for the ocean kayaking, stay for the motivational posters 11:52 😂Amazing, Loui, thanks!
So true. I agree we are often are more capable than perceived or than we feel ourselves. It’s also ok for others to express concern. It shows we care about each other or maybe they would feel too insecure themselves so they are projecting it doesn’t always mean they are judged your incapacity. Sometimes mind reading what we think others are thinking about us creates more inferiority than just taking their interest and concerns as they care. We can judge that others are judging us. 😊 I know I did that for years and I feel so much freedom now that I assume others care and I don’t assume what they think about me. Of course sometimes I relapse. Keep up the adventures. You’ve got this!!!
I just love that you did that trip. I have been solo paddling and back country camping for many years. There is nothing that compares to the experience. You talking to the birds made me backwash my tea! What a gorgeous spot. I'm going to have to go find it now. ❤
What a fun solo trip! I like watching you try anything, it's an inspiration for me to try and do more things outside.
Canadian mosquitos aren't very polite
Your braver than I am. I hate driving highway long and or solo trips I wish I loved them. My anxiety doesn't but I love watching others do then
Good to see you ❤
I hope to see Yu catch lingcod and rock fish from the kayak sometime again ☺️
I switched to a short kayak rod (3'6"), it helps a lot.
What a great video! I love your adventurous spirit! I really want to learn how to fish... Question, do you find clarity and comfort out on your own? I always feel like the outdoors brings peace. And I'm really happy you didn't have to talk to coconuts 😂😂😂
Thanks Angie! Let’s fish when I get to the Kenai. I’ll teach you everything I know! I love being on my own in the outdoors. Helps me see I am capable and cuts out all of the outside nonsense so I can actually have a moment in my own brain 😍
I missed the beautiful Loui!
Hiii!
The rock fish and other fish like round head jig with rubber curly tail grub worm on the jig.
(1-ounce jig). 😁
Wow😮I am in awe🎉Always a treat to see you thrive in the wild. Thanks for bringing me along😘
Love watching your adventures. Love your cute innocence but your bold travels all rolled into one. Keep it up Gurly and have fun. God Bless 🙌 you
Good to see you out there doing the things you love and all that beauty thank you for sharing. Stay blessed.
I'm in Canada now. I just got on the island. I'm in no rush. I'll be here or there for awhile. Would love to see you and Simon sometime. Nice to see someone actually catch some fish. Good for you. Looks like a nice kayak trip.
You did great AND almost caught a seal! 😊 Enjoyed this one! ❤
Great camp and kayak. Beautiful area. Safety first! thanks
😂❤ I put you in my pocket at the beginning of the video because I had to go out to the Garden to uncover the frost protection on the flowers🎉 I couldn't see what you were doing all I could do was hear you I was laughing my head off😂 now I can go back and actually watch the video as well as listen😂 all I kept thinking is I want what she's having❤❤
Oh my gosh! The seal was so cool, even he did steal your fish.
Nice kayak, now you need to get a sprayskirt.
You’re so brave.
Very cool Lou! It is so beautiful there!
You should be able to lock those paddle blades at 90º (so you're not pushing air).
Where’s William? I have pretty much all Columbia pieces of summer clothing. Love it. Comfortable clothing. I’m leaving soon on my trip across the country and that is all I packed.
William was at a pet sitters house! He was warm and cozy and happy! You definitely chose right for clothing!
You rock, Loui ❤
Be ready..baby rockfishes on the line have a tendency to attract GIANT lingcod ha ha...
crazy content!!!
You are a rock star!
Stay safe!!
You are the Seagull whisperer !!! 🙂
Try trolling floating or semi floating Rapalas when you are paddling.
How is William doing? It's clear why he couldn't safely go on this trip, but please give us an update on that good boy!
I so admire you every time I watch one of your videos, but this one was the best by far. But I have to ask where is William? Stay safe and many blessings.
I think you stole that seal's fishing hole. ;-) Cool capture though!
I can only imagine people worrying about you doing adventures alone. As a guy I've even had it more so in the last 10-15 years, back in the 80's people were more you're doing what, no thanks have fun 😂😂
Women are SO capable. So tired of the narrative that they aren't. Thanks for sharing this solo trip.
Lol where is this narrative I've never heard that in my life
Loui where is William when you go on your multi day trips? Do you board him, or get a sitter?
So how do u keep the bears away? Aren't there Grizzly up there? Maybe it's just Black Bears? Curious what the plan is if one were to come. I was so nervous for you, lol.
The bears, grizzly and black, live there and don't want anything to do with humans. We keep them away by appropriately storing food (and smelly things) in supplied caches or high off the branches of trees. Cougars are a different story.
Wait. I’m a full fledged Canadian and I call the outhouses. That’s funny! Ain’t no way I’m “resting” in a poop shoot lol
13:26 Is that…three different kinds of “No Smoking” signs in one?! 😂😂😅
“Lucky Seven” knot? If so, my grandpa taught me the same knot.
Yes the lucky seven knot! TH-cam taught me haha!
Mosquitos lol. Don't go to northern BC. Those buggers can carry a small child away!
A wonderful fishing trip :-) but, no William?
Good work
🍻👨🏻🏭🇨🇦
good vid.
I need to get some of those thick mixing cook baggies! Not sure what they are called to search for them? 😕
B-roll is a B!
15:27 Talking to coconuts! 🥥🥥🥥🏀🏀🏀🤣🤣🤣
Loved your video. Where is William?
Niiiiice
Nice
To much line will Tango. you should be good now Put small split shots on Try some spoons. Medium-sized ones. That was beautiful.
Hi your so lucky , wich I would of done this when I was younger.... bd 69 tomorrow....still go camping in a tent with hubby..... glad to see your video, good job ... 🌹
What are those bags you use for your own ad water only meals?
Yeah Will misses Loui😥
So William is not with u on this one ore is he back at the Jeep?
Fishing on the ocean, sometimes you catch a fish and sometimes the fish catches you.
That was cool, but where was your life jacket?! Glad you had fun and were safe.
