I begged my parents a lot as a kid to go to the airport just to ride this train before all the security restraints put a ban on non-travelers getting past security. Now I get super excited when I go on trips just for this moment! Can't wait, got 2 more weeks to go.
That train is no joke. As a kid back in the 80s my siblings and I loved to ride it. We had the recording memorized by heart and I still recall most of it. Back when the snow/ice shutdown all of Atlanta (including the airport) my dad and I were stuck at Hartsfield all night after arriving from DFW. I hadn’t been on the train in years and figured we’d just ride around a few times as nothing but one McDonalds was open. Yeah...it was not the same ride. When the lady says to hold on you better listen! I would love to know how many broken bones and stitches have occurred on the plane train, especially drunks. They don’t have to worry about anybody sleeping on the little platforms or just riding for kicks like we did to kill time as kids! We were so happy to finally leave even though it took us 4 hours to get home to Marietta on the icy roads.
I cannot tell you how many times I have been on the plane train and some little kids did not hold on. Of course, they fell on their faces and their parents were mad at the airport for "not giving advance warning." Lol
The ATL SkyTrain (Rental Car - Terminal Shuttle) is much worse. I've managed to ride both trains without holding onto anything, but it is not for the faint of heart.
Fun fact. At the end of line, it will tell you to exit, and train is going out of service. Lights go out, goes into dark tunnel, but starts back where it started.
Okay, let me explain. At 3:12 your son asked "Why do they call it The Plane Train?" And I actually know the answer for that, which is the fact that Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport has 2 track transit systems, namely The Plane Train which is underground and connects all gates, and the ATL SkyTrain which is elevated and connects the airport with its rental car centre.
Hello! I am building something online, and it would be really helpful to have the audio, however of course I need your permission. So can I use the audio from this video for the project? Thanks.
Eso sería horrible. Espero que eso no te haya ocurrido realmente, a pesar de que lo hizo para algunas personas de ciertos países, lo cual es muy triste y no es correcto.
😂😂😂😂 its sooo funny it brakes and accelerates so violently that you can only see old people and kids flying arround
The best part about goin to Jackson Hartsfield Airport is riding the plane train
And that is a fact
I know, these airport people mover trains are pretty fun to ride.
@@robertfromadventuresofrobe335 yeah they are. Dallas Fort Worth airport has those too
@@danielr4640 right always fun hearing sharon feingolds voice every ride
@@ksgoalhorns57 I agree
I have never flown through Atlanta’s airport without riding the plane train. But it honestly makes this airport enjoyable compared to many others.

Yeah that was fun. We wished that we had more time so we could ride it back and forth at least one more time, lol. Thanks for watching!
Yeah, how 9/11 changed everything. The actions of a "criminally insane" few.
You sound like a 6 year old but your profile pic says something else
I went to the airport just to ride this one time. It was easy back then...2000ish.
Thomas Dukes did you have a good trip??
I love trains in airports! It’s like driving a car in a mansion!
Good morning, and welcome to the Black Mesa Transit System...
I'm going here in a few days! Gives me nostalgic vibes.

Thanks for sharing your experience with the train- sounds like good memories! It was fun to ride and we look forward to using it again.

Back then it was called the tram.

Brings back memories at home

Interesting- thanks for that tidbit!
It's also this way at Denver.
Nicest airport I been to and I been to like 20 U.S airports and 7 airports out the country.
Miss this feeling
Thank you I was so paranoid about the tram as my layover is an hour and I wasn’t sure if that was long enough your video helped ease my anxiety
You're very welcome- safe travels!
Late response but I rode this train for the first time a month ago. First time flying into ATL for a layover and everything went as scheduled.
I was just on that today. Dang does it go fast and stop quick🤣
I remember going on this train in September on my way to Fort Lauderdale and the Keys.
Interesting to note that every AirTrain in every airport has a different and unique door chime!
That is pretty cool- didn't know that. Thanks for watching!
Played by a different instrument.

I rode on this train at Atlanta Georgia on my Mom's birthday before a year of the virus crisis started days later!
From above, you can see just how massive ATL has become.
Je veux voyager à Atlanta et connaître cette Aèroport un jour bientôt.
This place is so Awesome ❤️

🤩
I love Atlanta
I miss the old voice of the plane train.
The Cylon..me too
The announcements use the aviation alphabet! Fitting...
Technically it should use Delta for D but they use David so people don't get confused since Delta uses all concourses.
this is the bombardier innovia apm 100 this train is also used at JFK, DEN, EWR, SFO, TPA, SEA etc.
Nice- thanks for the info! I will add that to the description of the video.
What about Bejing? They have it too. What’s it called?
I didn’t know Denver has one in there airport
This also used on bplrt
@@TravelTouristVideos Capitalisation correction, it's INNOVIA APM 100.
I rode this train before
Me too, during a flight between Orlando & Atlanta & Atlanta & Chicago's Midway.
Same here. I had actually forgotten this part of the Hartsfield-Jackson experience but listening to it accelerate and decelerate brought it all back.
same
I like how the CDC put up that sign. Oh, and by the way, it is headquartered in Atlanta.
I love riding this train
I remember going on this train
Welcome aboard the plane train. The next stop is for B Gates. "B" as in Bravo.
0:15 something about that sound is just😄
After getting off a long flight it sounds satisfying, but weird 😂
@@itz-venomtv5686 that feeling for me was when I was getting ready to board a flight
The airport in Dallas/Forth Worth Texas has a similar plane train
Arthur Bhutic you might get your wish you never know
That one is known as the Skylink, and it uses a *totally different* INNOVIA APM rolling stock.
"Welcome aboard the Plane Train, This train is departing. The next stop is for T gates, T as in Tango."
Thanks!
Our pleasure! Thanks for the super! 😊🙏
This train was so stressful
"At MARTA, we believe everyone should enjoy the ri-" oops wrong train
Cheers!
Have in Atlanta Georgia on the plane train

I love the plain train
The history of the voice of the plane train:
Friendly news anchor
Robot
Not Bill Murray
Siri
Consistency with the SkyTrain voice
The next stop is for V gates V as in Vortex
The next stop is for ass gates ass as in your ass
Sounds like Mr. Sandman
Do you have to use the plane train
It's a faster way to go between terminals
Airport train.

Does the name “The Plane Train” sound cringe to you
Do I need to train you on how to make and edit tourist videos?
