Not to be confused with the SkyTrain to the Rental Car Center, The Plane Train is a 2.8-mile / 4.5 kilometer people mover running beneath the tarmac at ATL, opened in 1980 and officially named in 2010. Fully automated, the trains essentially begin service under the F gates in the international terminal, connecting all of the other concourses before turning back at the main terminal.
The Plane Train hosts 59 Innovia APM 100 people movers in four-car sets, running 24 hours everyday. Voiced by Sharon Feingold, the trains currently run 2 minutes apart except
    overnight-between 1 and 5 a.m Eastern Time-
where they then run 8 minutes apart. Doors open on your left side,
if you’re facing the direction of travel, with onboard maps showing the full route.
    With Hartsfield-Jackson being the busiest
airport in the world, the Plane Train is naturally
the most heavily-used airport people mover,
with a daily ridership of 200,000 as of 2024.

The Travel Series™ is a collection of ambient videos focusing on commercial aviation and passenger rail. “Birdwatching” explores aircraft types, similarly with “Trainspotting.” Footage may be extracted into hours-long ambiences called “Vibes."
