Love Geoff Capes; honestly is my favorite competitor from 1980 to 1986. With the exception of 1982 he podiumed every year, and in '82 he was still 4 place while injured. Such a great athlete. Lars Hedlund can't be understated either. You've got Don Reinhoudt and Bill Kazmier who outside of Strongman are Power Lifting legends, Geoff who was a 3x Olympian, 6x Highland Games Champion, and Bruce Wilhelm who was a Weightlifting Champion and Olympian and Lars podiumed with all of them and was a great Power Lifter himself. Fun Fact, Bruce Wilhelm and Geoff Capes were both at the 1976 Olympic Games.
One thing I enjoy when watching is when they attempt to lift, and can’t, take a few seconds, compose, then successfully complete the lift, truly awesome
These men were absolute animals. You give them today's knowledge, training, and nutritional methods, they'd put to shame most of the professional strongmen out there. You imagine a Bill Kazmaier with his intensity and build with today's techniques? He'd win every damn year.
Scary to think that the fridge carry was 420 pounds. Today's yoke carry is 1000 pounds. Which means the moose can theoretically run with a fridge on each side 😂
People talk about being built different so much that is loses meaning. Then you see Kazmaier and understand what it truly means to be built different.
Lars having a smoke before the next event lol
I’m surprised Mark Felix isn’t there competing 😂
@@Mr-qz7ky I know
