By far the best sabres team ever assembled. They truly changed how teams breakout in the modern NHL. They were so fast and so quick moving the puck. Perfect example is game 3 against Ottawa when Max scored to take a 2-1 lead. That passing sequence was unreal. No goalie could keep up with that! This team definitely was the most dominant team in the NHL at this time. Despite losing, you bring the entire team out of injuries and we would have taken the canes down in 6. Oilers imo would have taken the Sabres to 7 games but would have lost. They were fast and big! Pronger was an absolute monster, like Connolly in the playoffs. Miller was fantastic as well and stole so many games! Miller would have outplayed Roloson despite Dwayne being a stud. Miller came up big during these years. It was overall the most complete team Buffalo has ever had and they changed the game.
Losing Connolly, was brutal (along with most of the D-Men). He was having an amazing playoff run to that point. I'll never forget his two goals in game 1 vs. Sens. Those were a thing of beauty.
One common theme here is how much faster the Sabres were than other teams. With the two line pass the game opened up and in these videos you see the Sabres beating everyone on the rush time and time again

I am not even a Sabres fan and I have had goosebumps during this whole video. Wish they won the cup that year. RIP Rick Jeanneret
This team was so fucking good

I still can't believe it fell apart.... they were so close.
It’s hard to listen to any of the calls that aren’t Rick Jeanerette.
I'm glad I was lucky enough to grow up listening to Rick calling.

If Connolly was born 15 years later he would’ve been a top 5 center. His game was perfectly suited for today’s NHL.
Best stick handler I have ever seen
This is my favorite Sabres team of all time
That was the year. If THAT Sabres team can’t win the cup, how can any?
Rewatching this reminds how important Dumont was to this run.
You’re the best
Nicely done
i have been waiting for this video FOREVER
RJ didn't say "cleared it in front!' like he did that season 5:18
You should do all Buffalo sabres playoff goals from 2007.
Stay tuned!
Who is the announcer in the first clip? Is it the current Caps guy?
Yes it is.
His name is Joe Beninati
Lmao it’s like Philly couldn’t move at all
They had no business being in the playoffs that year. At least it looked that way during that series
