    Good stuff. This is cool to see. I just started getting mine all sorted out after it sat for many years. Just as some constructive criticism, you should oil the cylinder and piston before assembling. Especially if you're going to twist it 180 degrees😄 Looking forward to watching the progress!

    My last comment was talking about how you can make a series doing this. It looks like you got some love from Moped Factory. Things are looking up. We just need to get you that traffic.

      Seems to be, though I might add some padding in order to get it a bit tighter.

    Nice work. Black bolts look 👌
    One tip, plenty of greases can ruin your new seals by reacting with the seal’s material. I prefer to use the same lube that the seal will be sealing while in operation.
    Did you hone the cylinder? If not, your new rings won’t cut in.

    Hey Man, Have a question for you. I have a 78 Balboa, just picked it up for 200 bucks. Needs a lot of work but all complete. Its the 505 1a. Is this the same build basically? Thanks

    Gotta love that torque wrench click! If you want to keep up with the build as it progresses, I'm posting pictures of the work on instagram. @analogvector

      I appreciate your videos. Back in spring I cam across the same moped and found your videos to be awesome. Thanks!

    awesome man, working on one of these engines myself, quick thought though, did you not need to seal the case? mine has a liquid gasket.

      Nice! No the manual for mine doesn’t call for one, but best practice is to use a little RTV between the case halves. I’ll probably be opening mine up again before starting it, so I left it out for now. I’ve got a lot of work to do on the frame before I can think about finishing up the motor.

    Why did you choose to hammer the bearings as opposed to freezing the crank? Just asking, not in a negative way.

    • @analogvector5238
      @analogvector5238  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Man, that’s a good tip! I didn’t think to do that. I’m new to all this. Next time!

      @@analogvector5238 cool, i was just wondering if there was a benefit to pressing them on as opposed to freezing the crank. keep up the good work.
