What different lubes and creams are you using in this video? Great video I´m learning a lot from them, I'm working on a corvette 390 with a similar Sachs engine, with no experience.
Hi Kristoffer. I use assembly lube and gasket sealer. The lube so nothing is dry at first start up, you can just as well use transmission oil. The gasket sealer so it does not leak. Thanks for watching and good luck with your project!
Hello! Great video. I am working on a Sachs 50/ma 47cm3 2 speed automatic. Do you have any information on it? Do you know where I can get replacement parts?
@@fly2kdw Hi Elliot! I do not have any first hand experience with it. But i think it is also called saxonette. I do think piston/rings and gaskets will fit from other sachs models of that era if bore size is the same and motor looks similar. Gaskets can also be cut from gasket material. Crankbearings can be sourced from normal bearing dealers. RNmotor in sweden seems to have some stuff (they ship worldwide). Best of luck with your project!
Could I get leads on parts finding for this motor? I have a 72 Arctic cat Prowler with the Sachs motor, and really need a few parts and seals and a throttle cable bad. I’ve had the bike since I was 4 and I’m 47, and want my kids to keep enjoying it. Any help, thanks.
Is it two speed automatic? if so its called sachs 50/A, i do think its mostly the same as 50/2 and probably the narrow case 50/3. It seems rnmotor.eu has english website and ships worldwide. Drop them a mail and see if they cant help you out. Best of luck!
@@semotorcycle it is the 2 speed automatic. It doesn’t have the manual pedals or the shift levers under the carb, those are plugged. I appreciate it! My grandma bought it in 1972 and I’ve had it all these years. Only til recently it has always worked. Just finding a throttle cable will get it going. The tank this year rusted thru on the bottom, so I have to do tank lining now also. A new tank might be a miracle to find.
@@semotorcycle probably what I’ll have to do. Yes I’m dreading the tank fix haha. One other question...you know what the bore diameter of the piston is? I could really use piston rings mainly, and a new piston if I can find one. Thanks again.
In Sitzerland you can find the most parts. I dont know if you know Mofakult but its an Onlineshop for almost every type of Moped. And Sachs is a Swiss brand i think ( Sachs und Fichtel ) So yeah...
Thanks for the idea: Sachs is from Germany, not Switzerland. Acquiring motorcycle parts is difficult and costly for money, because I am not from Switzerland nor from any neighboring country; I am from Algeria; I think you know the reasons.
Sure its not a 504? Start simple, New sparkplug. Check ignition switch/stop switch. Check electrical connections. If it has points ignition skuff the breaker a bit and meassure/set the gap. If still nothing, the stator might be bad.

Thanks man! It's a sachs mlkax 50/3 3speed gearbox with handshifter and kickstarter.

Just get a universal throttle cable, the ones with screw on ends. Yeah welding rottet out tanks are always fun!

@@wademiller2505 I bet it is 38mm. Glad to help :)
What is the diameter of the piston?
Stock piston is 38mm
Can you find original or good parts? I have a SACHS 50/2 automatic motorcycle with a weak motor due to lack of spare parts;
Sure, almost everything can be bought new. There is alot of shops in germany, sweden and norway.
Thank you so much; You are lucky; I wish I could get the original accessories so the engine power will be back.

Hi I’m in Atlanta have 404 Sachs don’t start up
Check spark and fuel. Clean carb and put new fuel in it.
