Thanks, a special **Classic Car, we heard about these ( esp D500, Suspension), etc. In Northern Indiana… though I had a 1954 Ford V8(1957;289 /4 BBL Engine , Customized) in 1961-4.. Interestingly, I did get a *1956 FORD Fairlane TBIRD/4 BBL engine/Loaded, no,**low Miles that , I intended to KEEP forever, but totalled in freak Accident..
mine was a coronet "Golden" Lancer 2 dhtp 315 hemi D-500- 3408 single 4 bbl...gold and white (as raced) this model w/dual4's was the winner of the manufacturers flying mile race at Daytona beach for1956.(132mph). note '77 nova rear end is a bolt-in gets rid of the tapered axles which made getting drums off very hard no mods needed even yoke and driveshaft and spring perches bolt right in.... got a 315/325 poly ? hemi heads bolt right on...
Wow Rory! Sounds like you had a sweet ride as well. Also it’s great to hear even more of the history of these awesome rides. As always appreciate the comments and support. Stay Tuned!!!

Definitely needs the lifters adjusted
No doubt this D-500 engine requires premium leaded gasoline.

Lee Petty's car , #42, 1956 Daytona winner.
Nice!
Does it come with a Hemi?
I believe Hunter said this is the original Hemi of the time.
The engine sounds troubled. Did you check the oil today?
