- The Los Cerritos Center is a super regional shopping mall located in Cerritos, California. Since September 1971, the Los Cerritos Center has been an integral part of the city of Cerritos' tax revenue. The mall is the city's largest revenue source, producing $581 per square foot in sales ($296 million total) in 2010. The tax revenue generated from the Los Cerritos Center for its host city totals to approximately $3 million a year.[1] The facility is owned by Macerich & GIC Private Limited.

I was in 6th grade when Los Cerritos Mall opened - it was a big deal. It was built over a huge dairy so it greatly changed the local landscape. Cerritos was new at the time with tract homes popping up, replacing cow pastures and farmland. In 1982, I worked at California Federal Savings & Loan that was located in the mall, across from the theaters. My family shopped there all the time as I grew-up in Cerritos. My first credit card was from The Broadway. I live out of state and haven’t seen the mall in a long time but I have many memories of that place. Thanks for the great video!
I grew up with this mall. I lived in Cerritos from 1971-1987 and went to Cerritos High school from 1979-1983. I really appreciate this video, I don’t even recognize the Cerritos Mall anymore. But it was definitely a hangout for me as a teen. 😊
I grew up going to this mall. I remember KB Toys and D Dalton ( the bookstore).

Every time I hear any mention of Cerritos, those Cerritos Auto Square commercials with Ernest P Worrell (portrayed by the late Jim Varney) always come to mind.
My first real job was selling shoes at the Florsheim store in this mall from FEB 1997 thru OCT 2000… Oh the memories!
they should’ve kept the old look for the interior design tbh, it looks more friendly and warm
I used to hangout there in 1983 when I was 12. Id get my allowance and head to the mall. I remember those bike racks!!!

It still is a good mall today. I’ve been going since the 2000’s. Cerritos local here 😊
Its got Nordstrom, Lululemon and Apple. You know a mall is elevated when these stores are in it and Cerritos Mall have them.
The burgundy tile of Ohrbach's always stood out as we passed it on the 605.
Looking at the wiki page there used to be an Ohrbach's in NYC on W 34th between 5th and 6th ave (across from the Empire State Building) in the 1950-60s, which is RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET from my current office! I didn't know it was founded here on the east coast.
(I moved to NYC in 2015 after leaving SoCal in 1994 for SF.)

The Cerritos mall is always temperature Hot 🥵 even during just mild temperature days.
Especially in the Wing/Corridor to the Left (if you're Inside the mall), of Nordstrom. Where it has all the arched ceiling with all the glass panels. 🌡️
