That's all changing with the arrival of Freedom Gundam from Gundam SEED to the team version! UC purists can rejoice because PlayStation will remain UC-only, instead receiving a special collaboration with the U.C. ENGAGE mobile game!

I'm honestly open to seeing AU MSes in GBO2 and I'm hyped for the Freedom! Only problem is I hope it'll make it to Playstation consoles eventually and it means that we will be getting more AU stuffs in the future. Reason being I'm gonna be selling my PC soon and I don't know whether or not my iMac at home could run it alright, but it's probably more of a me thing.
I think it would be really cool if they added AU suits to both versions so no one missed out but split the daily match types between “U.C. only” and “all series/mobile suits”
Hilarious how everyone has seem to forgotten about GBO Next. They could've made a sequel to that and no one would be mad about non UC units being in it.
It feels so painfully obvious that they are trying to revive the Steam version and get it off of life support. UC is my favorite Gundam, hands down, but I do enjoy AU and I am particularly fond of the Freedom. I personally am upset as a Playstation main. It feels like the loyal Playstation player base is being punished and the "bad kid in the class" is getting special treatment to correct behavior. With the power creep of this game steadily approaching F91 suits, AU suits would fit right in. And in my opinion anyone that says "but AU will ruin the vibe/believability/consistency of only-all-UC suits in a battle"; well I hate to break it to you but it was never consistent since you can see 5 of the same Unicorn Gundam in 1 match and EFSF and Zeon join up together on teams. It's already borked - which is OKAY. Unless they add modes of feddy vs zeon and dependent on which team you are on is which side you have access to then it really isn't "realistic" to what UC really is. So why not add AU? As a bonus, I'd argue that the SD Generation suits that are already in the game are both AU suits, so the UC sanctity has already been ruined.

Considering the current state of the Playstation port of GBO2, it's been anything but realistic. Unicorns breaking the laws of physics, units with funnels/bits absolutely shredding everyone-the sheer absurdity of what's new hasn't been consistent at all. I don't even believe that was the aim of GBO2; so while I understand where the purists are coming from, it doesn't make sense to gatekeep other timelines from a game that was too anime to begin with.
But the future still isn't set in stone. We might even get Freedom added to the PS4/5 port if the survey goes in an unexpected way. Here's to hoping it does...
I'm all for it, this game has been consistently updated with both quality of life updates and brand new mechanics.
If they wanna add brand new universe suits from alternate universes I just think it should be done right, balance is key while remaining respectful as possible to the source, but, I think the better option would be to make a new game with those suits that basically functions similarly to GBO2.

Ngl it doesn't matter how good anything they add to the PC version is if they don't fix the servers, more often than not I find myself waiting anywhere from 2 to 10+ minutes to get into just one match
Yea I’ve had those issues too, it seems like for some reason the base camp is really laggy and matchmaking is janky but once you get into a match you’re fine
That's no different from the PS5 version. I spend more time waiting in the lobby than playing. They need to heavily penalize players who quit in the lobby and/or they need to get rid of random maps.
No way man, they need less penalties for stuff, if they had better servers and a quickplay with a voting system similar to older Halo titles that'd be enough

@@chinito77 Have you played the PC version? It's way worse than even the PS4 lmao. On PS4 I'd maybe have to requeue once, on PC I'd have to do it several times. That and pc has hackers.
Wish they made another GBO to add other different universe suits in the game with a better software.
To be honest this makes me have questions like are they gonna plan to add MS of other eras as well like OO or IBO? The sky is the limit or even Build versions of U.C. MS can added to the game as well.
I think they will. Freedom is a start, but also a test probably to guage the reaction and results. Honestly I am more for UC though AU is fine just not to me. I am also perfectly fine with AU stuff being added. I just think it was more fitting to put Freedom in a entirely different MM to its universe CE though rather than Bandai popping it in with all the UC MS and still that there is more UC stuff being added still.
I honestly think the reason they started with Freedom and not Barbatos is solely because of the SEED movie that’s coming out, otherwise I think Barb is the obvious choice to generate the most hype
@@NewtypeSeiji Seed is more popular in Japan. It still topped the Japanese Blue ray charts to this day (not even Fate comes close) + the VAs won the Grand Prix the years the series aired which included Destiny.
I am mixed with this. They should of added more units with it. Like where's the Providence it's rival? Dagger? Ginn? Strike Gundam would of been more ideal for balance reasons to come. So that MM would be less comical.
They open the pandora box who knows what can come out?
If they plan to add more Barbatos Lupus Rex would be a nice addition.
The game is good and entertaining, the only problem for me is not being able to form a group to play rated or simple games but otherwise it's fine

As stated in the vid, only reason they did this was because of the Seed movie coming out soon and the PC base wants non UC suits. My guess is that Bandai wants to test non UC suits using the GBO2 engine. Since no one really cares about the Steam version's longevity (Sorry but its the hard truth). Bandai will probably split GBO into UC and Non UC games. This way they can fill in the void that Gundam Evolution left on the PC and see if it rakes in enough money. Me personally, I don't want non UC suits in GBO2. I would be OK with having a separate game on my PS5 that has non UC suits. It's already bad enough that the newer UC suits overkill the older OYW models. We don't need suits that run on magic and plot armor to ruin the game.
That is a really stupid reason to not want new suits from different places in the game. Your opinion is that of a clowns. More suits is a good thing, and it's a damn shame freedom isn't coming to console today instead of the stuff we got.

Is not the first time Bandai added AU units to UC centric games, they did the same for MSGO years ago and the addition of AU units kept the game alive for additional 2-3 years, tho it does break the game balance with more and more op AU units added along the way. I'm not all against addition of AU units in fact I voted for the addition of it as well, I'm more concerned about how the devs will balance it out.
But before that I hope they will at least try to iron out the major issues with the game itself

I play rather casually too, and I DID vote!
And while I have mixed feelings about the addition of AU (I'd prefer a separate game for AU units.. they could have just not done GEvo dirty like they did. BUT, I also love the idea of having things like Zaku Warrior, Providence Gundam, chonky Gusion, and others in my glorified 'model viewer' for a kit building/customizing tool), 2:27 as a PC player *I* absolutely *DO* care about the Engage event being PS only, as they're getting some units, and deals that PC players will NOT be getting!
This split is just going to give them *more* work to do, when they already can't even be bothered to fix the games many issues on PC (and lingering ones on PS).
5:00 No, the trend is *not* a good idea. Not everybody has access to both platforms! Giving exclusives to one side or the other is just going to upset more people, because they can't get a unit they like because it's stuck on a system they don't have. And you vastly underestimate how many PS players, that also have a PC, jumped onto the Steam version day one! They didn't *need* 'incentive', beyond "I like this Gundam game and want to play/try it elsewhere'. The Gacha system already gave them plenty of reason to jump over, because they may get better pulls on one than they do the other. Adding units that some are guaranteed to miss, simply because they don't own a PC AND a PS4/5 doesn't *add* incentive.
mehhh.. at this point, while the game is fun (when it's playable, and not shafted with scrubs that don't bother with *any* amount of strategy or group-play), I just want this a a model viewer with all the units available, so I can turn them all around and view from every angle. So I can make customs of kits we don't have, and for more painting ideas!
Rather than make a separate game I think the best choice if they wanna go this route would be to add AU suits to both versions and then have game modes for U.C. only and game modes for all suits
Actually i miss GBO NEXT. It lacked some balance in the end days with ultra MS like Strike Freedom or QNta, but overall experience was more to my liking. More direct appropach to player skills and less forced team gameplay. Tho sortie system with limited tickets was awfull.
I'm not a Guru, a Master, or anything of the sort. I just play games that are interesting. GBO2 still maintains that interesting factor, even though the salt. Something to keep in mind as we approach the 7th year of GBO2 on Console.

im perfectly okay about AU suits. HOWEVER, im more concerned about the fact that the price of the tokens are really expensive.
keep in mind that in order to get to step 7 for the Freedom Gundam, you'd be spending around $130 in total

I hope this isnt a for ever and ever thing with console and the pc is the lab rat of the two to make sure the aus sell so when they sell they can add em to console without ruining themselves, me personally, i this working because there are a TON of units people want and would work. Like wing and friends, X, XX, and Barbatos, aswell as Freedom of course, but its bandai so, were s.o.l for now lol
Big let down, it's PC only but I guess U.C. engage isn't bad, they have well done cutscenes and MS designs are really unique but I wanted to pilot one of my favorites from one of the AU timelines, The 0 Gundam, and the Turn A, or the Wing Zero, life would be complete with them in it on PS.

I don't see anything wrong, if they balance the non UC mobile suits, it will be completely fine and we will have more variety
Plenty of AU suits can be in the game, they just need to be Cost-appropriate. Don't go shoving 00 Raiser into 700 just because that's the highest current bracket. Maybe it's time to go past 700, and those high costs in 800 and beyond are basically AU brackets, but you can still bring a Level 3 Unicorn into an 800 Cost match and square up against Wing Zero. Plus, lots of UC suits like the V2 or Xi are too advanced for the current Costs anyways and fit in more with AU machines. There's about 80 more years of the Universal Century that can't be touched because GBO2 is acting like UC ends with Narrative on the timeline.
I'm kinda OK with seeing AU suits being in GBO2 so we can see how the game developers would implement these suits in the game. Also would be OK that I want to see this as well on the Playstation since I play mostly on the Playstation... would be very burned and irked if this will just stay as Steam exclusives and would rather have GBO Next be brought back from the dead.
Edit: Oh yeah... I reinstalled GBO2 on my Laptop and it STILL runs slow than that I am playing on the Playstation(PS5). And I still remember why I would prefer playing on the Playstation than that on Steam

Don't run it on a laptop. xD GBO is a bit of a system hog at the *best* of times. Better at least a tower that has better cooling, if not a dedicated gaming PC.

@@thekillerGTO What servers are you talking about lmao? They only have a server for the lobby, actual matches uses Peer to Peer and that was outdated 10 years ago. The only reason this game is still even up on steam is because it costs next to nothing to maintain. You don't want crossplay either, unless you like the thought of fighting against mobile armors spawned in by pc players in your games.
@@ryanmcclure8868 the thing is that if you want to play it you must wait sometimes 1hour on PC to have a match and if you dont have time for this then what ?(the match cost is part of this to!) and the lags issues
If PC gets freedom then console users should get Xi and Penelope to even this
please add the freedom or other seed suits to the PS version. It's not worth losing everything just for a chance to play as the freedom on a laggy horribly optimized version of the game.

i actually happy AU gundam is now on PC GBO2
but IMO they still fumble this one. i think Freedom should been 650 cost general instead of 700 (but even then it still didnt help that much), all of weapon and skills are good on paper except for Phase Shift Armor skill, im sorry guys but you didnt need Ballistic resistance in a cost where EVERYONE spam their beam weapons like Funnels etc. majority of the support on 700 cost can easily melt Freedom even if you using Beam Resist build. on top of that Freedom's Banner doesnt have step up part banner unlike the other 4 star suit banner like Rozen Zulu, Narrative C-Packs and Banshee Norn. as PC player, i think its better if you pull for other banner because the result is more promising

@@mrezaslebew6360 To be fair, there is not much to put on unless you want the new parts from the future banners. Banshee Norn has comp frame type B and NTC has anti beam armor. They don’t use old custom parts either from previous banners unfortunately.

@@mrezaslebew6360 Sometimes the step ups also come with a alternate weapon for the suit. The custom parts are pretty niche at best, the only useful ones is stuff like the comp frame that boosts your weapon strength or stuff like the Anti-Armor that increases the beam cap. Stuff like the comp armor is pretty useless unless your building ur suit with bulk. Even some of these suits won’t work unless you have them fully on max enhanced.

I do understand why staying true to UC exclusive will benefit console players, but in the long run the game will be so limited.
No units to update(someday); Banshee Norn being solely the most OP 700 cost unit in the game, new players who aren't into UC exclusive games won't really want to join, and player retention will unlikely change. Steam's initial release was ruined cause of the major network problem, terrible unit pool, and sloppy controls to begin with.
The only great thing about opening up non-UC generations are just the expand of the unit pools and a bit more newer players to join the game.
Tbh, the game's literally dead and the only people who are playing are just the potential players who've been grinding containers and daily tokens.
Hardly anyone's playing this game competitively.
I don't care about new ms. The game is poorly optimized, still looks like crap, and has garbage netcode.
More relevant though if they were trying out AU ms on the PC, they should have started with grunt MS first to build up hype. These guys just went and blew their load immediately with no tension.
Now we can expect bandai to just throw promotional AU units onto PC instead of actually making it better. Really looking forward to all the suits from shows I don't like being in the game that has been all UC since the first game on PS3.
keeping it a buck fifty im all for it more suits the merrier personally i would like to see good old strike with its packs especially the launcher and honestly i think its good for the game use suits from other universes plus i think it would be pretty wicked to see suits from the build series
