theres a lot of things bethesda could have done for immersion but they often fall short. They seem to cut back on good features with each new game! in daggerfall, your speech skills have a chance to passively turn hostile people neutral - but in morrowind and each newer game hostile people are aggressive no matter what (with the exception of temporary illusion effects)
Yeah, and it would be easy to code. NPCs can use doors, so just have them sit up, maybe wait for a bit, then walk out and despawn once outside. And the next time (after a couple days) when you enter the temple again you'd see new random NPCs. And they don't even acknowledge when you heal them. Even followers and guards sometimes ask if you're a healer when you do some restoration on them. My guess is they're just hanging around there because they're too cheap to get a room in the local inn.
@@aubreyhuff46 how so ? Every single bandit and enemy trying to murder you to the point of letting themselves die in the process is hardly immersive. if you've every played a pen and paper rpg you'd know that diplomacy, deception and intimidation can be just as effective as any blade or spell. being able to team up with a random bandit in daggerfall against the rest of the dungeon enemies is pretty cool too
I had a really bad headache before watching this, but after practising Simon's healing method of placing a metal bowl over my head, I was instantly cured. Truly a miracle!
Fun fact, Dinya Balu, the dunmer priest of Mara, is married to Maramal and they're expecting a baby, which took me literal years to realize because of how little time I spend in the temple of Mara, especially when Maramal is actually there and not harassing folk in the tavern 😂
Could you also rate Daedric shrines and other places where Daedric worship happens? I've been thinking of selling my soul to a Daedric Prince for untold power, but I'm not sure which one has the most pleasant shrine to sacrifice victims in.
I enjoy wandering from the Temple of Mara into one of the many Arkay Hall of the Deads. Whiterun is the only one that seems to have an actual temple-like section to it that isn't inside the grave areas lol Fun lore fact: Dibella's Skyrim Temple is focused on her "Dibellan Arts" but the House of Dibella actually focuses on beauty in more than just people- Art and it's preservation is a huge part, and the House has many archeologists within it. Kind of sad that aspect hasn't been explored since Daggerfall.

Just as soon as I finish binge watching your videos for the gazzilionth time, you upload a new one. Absolutely amazing delivery. 10/10, will binge watch again.
The poor guy was chased clear from Markarth to Riften, visiting an empty temple with a guy inside who wants you to go on a quest was probably low on the list.
i discvered this channel from the video of you dragging Ulfric to go see Tullius, and it was hilariously wholesome. This is the second video im watching and the accent really sells the content here. its good stuff, ill be watching more at work tonight lol
I recently stumbled upon your channel and immediately loved it! You are really entertaining, and you talk just like one of my closest friends (who is also Scottish).
Saw this, laughed a ton, gonna binge watch the whole channel. Excellent content 😂. Ingenious idea made especially funny with the accent of my ancestors. Take my sub!
I love that seriess, the movements look pretty natural for the most part, the humor has me burst out laughing at times, and really brings a smile to my face on tought days. Thanks, Simon!
These damned people of Tamriel do not appreciate an honest blogger, the priestess of Markarth deserved the review they got. And its good to see that you are doing better from you're motion sickness. Greate video
The Temple of The Laughing Simon - Has lots of space for his many worshipers. Plenty of bevy and food. Actually talks to his worshipers unlike the others(Apart from Talos, luv ya Talos! Five stars. - ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've heard of non-denominational churches; but that ALL denominational church in Solitude is a great concept (except for the extreme lack of Talos). Another really fun adventure ! Thank You The Laughing Simon!
Haven’t visited your channel in a while, but when I came back your videos are still amazing! Seeing as this video is all about the Skyrim religion I want to ask, who was your favourite divine/ the first divine you found out about when you first played Skyrim? 💙☠️
the clergy in whiterun is terrible. shameful, is what it is! also miraak's temple getting 5 stars seems very fair to me honestly, just look at how many truly devout worshippers there are, and what a grand temple! shame simon didn't show us the inside before he did the flashforward to his happy life as a miraak worshipper, but i'm sure it's lovely and not at all filled with traps and draugr
Simon, you should really help the poor wee lassie in Windhelm Grey Quarter. She's a filthy orphan and should be taken to Riften orphanage with the rest of them 😆
Nice find there Simon, I never knew about the Temple of Talos in Markarth until now. I've been playing Skyrim since the days of PS3, then PS4 and now PS5. I am currently a Khajit that's trying to find his true self, will he be an Illusion specialist or a Heavy Armoured brawler kind of thing. Loving the hilarious crazy vids you release and your evaluations of each parts of the world of Skyrim. Maybe you can do this for each of the Houses of Morrowind that you can discover in Skyrim and Solstheim
This was funny enough, but I definitely prefer the more immersive way you you went about things in the trading and border videos. This feels more like a Captain Fannybones approach
Petition to make Simon an official VA on ES6? Id be so happy to meet an NPC and just hear Scottish joy
He’s too good for Bethesda at this point.
Agree @@ichigokage
No no.
He’s got a point.

Some little sidequest with Captan Fannybones standing in a cave looking for the ship.
Bethesda really should have had the NPCs after they've been healed get up leave and some new person who's sick comes in
But it just works!

Simon, the secret 10th Divine
Praise be to The Laughing Simon!
It was Skyrim's version of a tinfoil hat. Works every time. 5/5.
Remember my miracle healing practices when you pass the donations bowl on the way out.
A cold metal bowl that shields from the sun isn't the worst idea.

Falkreath's 60% graveyard so it does have a Temple of Arkay. "Temple", however is just a fancy name for the priest's cabin.
Seriously impressed that you survived a visit to riften without incident
I'm Riften's new favourite son.

That's not a temple, that's a _shrine._ And yes I will argue semantics if it means I get to spend less time in markarth.
Had an idea after watching this, you should go on a pilgrimage with the kynareth lady to the eldergleam sanctuary.
