@@takin7341 Agreed. Dark Souls is in my top ten .. out of 150.. (30+ years of gaming.. I’m old lol..) but I can understand how much slower it can feel to people who’ve never picked up a FromSoft game. But it’s such a rewarding experience. Got NG+4 and never used a summon (my BF plays without summons and I ain’t about to have him one-up me haha) It also contains one of my greatest gaming achievements in beating O&S the very first time I ever saw them. And I’m not saying that to brag like I was the only one, just pointing out how rewarding it is on a personal level.
But yeah, I’ve played them all and it’s a bit unfortunate that the most popular one ended up being the easiest, but I guess that makes sense. At least we still got satisfying and sometimes difficult bosses. Rennala kicked my ass for two days but I’d say she’s a lot easier then several in DS.
I actually don’t mind that the open world isn’t that hard, it makes the game go a bit faster/smoother.. makes it easy to explore.
A lot of people have no idea how lucky they are that they can.. fast travel immediately.. can jump(with one button).. restore flasks from killing enemies.. generous amount of graces, a fricken map, haha..
      the horse..
Won’t find none of that in past games

@@nicole9volt agreed I'm 30 years old as well and jumped into the series at Demon Souls back in 2008. Fell in love with the series. I can see your passion for the series is there and I have the same. It does pain me though for some of these new people to throw the older games some hate. No one would have gotten ER without the Soul series and what they built upon. The only criticism I have is why does Miyazaki hate invaders lol its what kept me playing the games over and over making new builds but in ER you are limited to 6 if not fewer builds to successfully pvp with. Also please bring back solo invasions. I don't mind the 2v1 but there's only so many times I can face rob or moonveil spammers and get t bagged because I refuse to use meta because I know it's an easy win.

    • @nicole9volt
      @nicole9volt 2 ปีที่แล้ว

@@takin7341 Yeah, like for example, Resi 2 (original) with the tank controls.. I personally have no issue with it, but I bought that game when it came out.. so I’ve been used to it. I can understand why games like that , or a lot of PS1 games in general, are difficult for young bloods to get into.. but I really believe if a game is good, no matter how old it is, if they gave it a legit shot, they would be able to get comfortable with it. I just ask they give it an honest chance, if they just can’t get into it, that’s fine. If I have to give any advice for the younger generation wanting to play a game 10, 20 or 30 years old, just understand that of course it’s gonna be slower at first. Have that in your mind that older Games don’t always start out bombastic.. but I promise you, if it is known as a good game, there is a reason… you’ll discover a whole type of gaming gratification you never felt before
something I don’t get with ER..I NEVER get invaded, even when using that item that lures in invaders.. Granted, I haven’t really looked up stuff online about it yet.. but all I know is, I have all my invasion stuff on, I travel to those places on the map that show active PvP places.. but in over 100 hours of play.. not invaded once. Now, I have zero problem invading others, but where it took years for invasion to get silly in Dark Souls, (with people modding, hiding in unreachable places without a horse, having 3 people ready to attack you..) it seemed to get silly fast. If I devote a whole play session to invasion, I maybe have a few actual fun fights.
But I get it, IM the one invading , yatta yatta.. but guys, Is it really fun for you to just gank immediately? I think it’s way more fun to PvP.. and you can have others there. .. but it’s the most fun when they stand back, let someone fight, and if the invader wins, then the next person steps up.
There are still many people who are into fun PvP.. I had an AMAZING fight with someone that took about 10 mins.. we fought, stepped back to let each other flask or buff than clash again.. we fought for ten mins, used up all our flasks and it came down to me beating him with a literal sliver of life left for me. Damn right I bowed.. hahaha
But mostly I like doing jolly co-op with others . So I still have a lot fun with it, but I just miss the fear of going all the way through Anor Londo.. just praying for a bonfire, and boom, your invaded . The stakes seemed higher…
But if you have a suggestion on how to get invaded more, beyond using the item that lures them in, I’m all ears…

First off I recommend you explore every nook and cranny and always check walls for there are lots of invisible walls also you can go back to where the dragon is and either kill the dragon or collect the drops up there(you may die a few times) then after that go inside the door the dragon is guarding to be greeted with an amazing early game weapon. Last piece of advice always check chest chains or hit every chest for mimics are everywhere

@@Ribsi it really depends on whether or not you beat deacons before, cause then you’re gonna be more properly levelled and have more estus. Cause my first time playing, I went through farron keep before deacons. So I barely had any estus, my health was trash, I didn’t know about the dagger quick step thing either and I kept going in circles cause the whole area looks the same. And then the enemies there are cancer af, if you don’t know how to deal with them.
But irithyll tests your combat skills a lot, and it’s more fair from a beginner’s standpoint. I’d say it’s hardest at the beginning cause that’s where most of the knights and flame witches are. Then once you get to the church it’s fairly easy.

Dark souls vet here (including the big 3, Bloodborne, Sekiro and Elden Ring). Dark Souls 3 was my most played Dark Souls, and let me tell you that this game is tough even for Dark Souls veterans (besides 1 of course). It was made in mind for them almost specifically. Here are some things you will notice for those wanting to dive in:
    1) if you look up how many bosses are parryable you’ll find that there aren’t many. And even if they are, some attacks they could throw aren’t parryable at all. In its own twisted yet basic simplicity, Dark Souls cheese IS parrying (besides a couple of other methods). Look up Gwynn, the final boss of Dark Souls 1 cheese and you’ll immediately understand why parrying was less included in future games.
    2) The sorcery/faith spells aren’t as fluid as Elden Ring’s. You aren’t able to move much, casting time is considerably higher and it takes away far more stamina when casting.
    3) Speaking of Stamina, Elden Ring gives you a metric FUCKTON of stamina off rip. I was genuinely shocked from seeing such a massive Stamina bar. In Dark souls and Bloodborne especially, your stamina is equivalent to that of an out-of-shape gym teacher. Shit is a little cruel; early game if you don’t level up your stamina at least a little bit you’ll be out of breath by the time you dodge every attack and make one swing. I’m not complaining though. It makes you less likely to mindlessly swing twenty times and actually pay attention to an enemy’s move set.
    4) Compared to Elden Ring, the difference in the amount of checkpoints is incredible. Of course Elden Ring is a massive open world and checkpoints certainly help, but ask any Dark Souls vet the feeling they get when they just trudged through axe-swinging bridges, pitfalls, pot-shotters on ledges, traps, mimics, mind-reading boulders, enemies left and right, dying over 40 times, losing well over a million souls and other bullshit (looking at you, Sens Fortress no I’m not salty shut up). You’ll probably hear a sigh of relief, or a grunt of pent-up stress and say softly, “bonFire,” like it was a lost child they just found or they just witnessed a fucking miracle.
Im sure some of my elders here could tell you more, since I’m more of a Sekiro/Bloodborne player type. So Elden Ring players take caution; although Elden Ring certainly has its challenges, your time in any other Souls Game is going to be tough. You’ve got the physical reaction, instinct and the knowledge for a build to make in the game now, but they’re famous for testing your patience and absolute will to keep going regardless of your abilities and stats. But that’s the beauty of Dark Souls. Thats why your character is linking the flame. Because no one else in the world will.
