Glad we could help!! We found a lot of the popular restaurants were booked on their portal, but there was always something available. We spoke to some other guests and they booked their dinners at the concierge desk and got all the restaurants they were looking for 🤷🏼♀️ we recommend booking at concierge right after you check in. You can’t go wrong with any restaurant though, their food is top notch 👌🏻

You can get on the portal once you get there via scanning their QR code. Unfortunately, you cannot book restaurant reservations until you have your room assigned after checkin - we learned this the hard way 🤷🏼♀️

We just booked for May. Just by viewing this video we are so excited !! That beach is beautiful. I suffer from a severe peanut allergy, I will notify guest relations as soon as I arrive on how to navigate this. Did the restaurants offer any information about allergies on their menu? Thanks!
We are so glad we could help you with your vacation planning! ☺️ So sorry, we don’t recall if they mentioned food allergies on the menus. The waiters do ask you if you have any food allergies as soon as you are seated. I’m sure they will be very accommodating, as good allergies are quite common.
Fantastic video! Few questions, Was there free transportation services provided from the airport or is that something that has to be booked ahead of time? Was the Covid testing process a nightmare/organized? Was the coffee shop and some of the smaller food places like the ice cream shop included in the all inclusive? Lol and lastly what would you say are the cons of the hotel because you’ve done such a good job with the pros! Looking to book this in a few days!!
Thanks for the feedback! You need to book transportation ahead of time, or get a taxi to the hotel (most vacation packages include transportation, so check to make sure). The testing was not bad. Ask at reception about how to book your time and pay for the test (I think it was $30 or $35 USD). I went to my appointment a bit early, was told to fill out a form online to get my results, and got called in really quickly 👍🏻 Yes, the coffee shop and ice cream shop are included! I think pretty much all food is included except for this culinary experience they advertise for $150. 👍🏻 The only con I can see some people would find is the size of the resort. Everything is very spaced out, so it can take quite a while to get around. There are trollies that will take you around and u can rent a golf cart to get around for extra $$. Yea, there a lots of excursions - from wildlife, to adventure, to shows! There’s even a cirque du soleil in Punta Cana! The resort also often has concerts onsite!
I’m traveling here next month! Random question, did any restaurant or food truck have buffalo wings? Lol I looked at all the menus and I didn’t see any 😅😢😂
Really appreciate your videos! My son and I are going to be taking our first trip together and trying to decide between Atlantis Bahamas and Hard Rock Punta Cana. Our main bucket list item is the beach and next would be food. If you had to pick between the two places with those in mind, which would you suggest? Thanks!
Thanks for watching! It’s a tough call because they are so different. First of all, Atlantis is not all-inclusive so the food will definitely add up during your stay. Atlantis will probably have a few better restaurants, but again will be very pricy. The main thing that Atlantis has going for it is the beach- which is gorgeous. HRH Punta Cana on the other hand has a very hit or miss beach - when we went in October, the waves were too big making the ocean un-swimmable. The beach is pretty to look at, but that’s about it. The food at HRH Punta Cana is pretty good as well. If you’re looking for a great beach, check out the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya. It has beautiful little beach inlets, great pools, food and entertainment 👌🏻 we have videos on that resort as well on our channel 👍🏻
What is the best type of room? And location? We are thinking to go with kids. Was thinking of something close to the pools and restaurants, since you say there’s the downside of it being super big. Thank you!
There are rooms in buildings 7A and 8A close to the kids water park and splash pad. Also there is a restaurant (Ipanema) there too. If you wanted to get back to the main lobby, it is a bit of a far walk, but there are resort shuttles that can get you there in no time.

Yes, they definitely were mostly included! The ones not included were clearly marked- it was just a few special experiences that you would have to pay for if you wanted.
It might get tough to get the reservations you want based on how busy the hotel is… they have an online “portal” that you make you reservations through, or they have a concierge that you can sit down with a book through. We heard that the concierge had more availability than what was on the portal, but not sure 🤷🏼♀️ no, you cannot make the bookings before you get checked in to your room.
We heard it was supposed to open summer 2022, but don’t know for sure. You can join the Facebook group for the Hard Rock Punta Cana to stay up to date on all the news. It was behind construction scrim when we were there, so we couldn’t see much. 🤷🏼♀️
Did you need to take a covid test of usd 150 at arrival at the hotel? On expedia its stated that this is obligatory by the hotel? I don’t know if its old information.
I would assume that is old information 🤷🏼♀️ there are no testing requirements for entering Dominican, you just have to check with the country you are returning to to see what the testing requirements are. For example, for us in Canada we had to do an antigen test one day before our return flight (we are vaccinated) and it was around $30-$35 USD.
Went here last summer for vacation for one week. We weren't really impressed. (We have gone to many Hard Rock resorts such as Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Cabo, so we have some experience with these resorts.) This resort is wayyyy to big, too much walking, and the rooms weren't the cleanest. Walking from your room to the pool definitely gets annoying after a couple of days as it could take almost 5 minutes. Although, I did enjoy the beach as the waves were insane, there was so much algae in the water and washed up on the sand that people had to come and put them all in big bags. The casino did look nice. I am going to Riviera Maya for a highschool senior spring break trip and I'm beyond excited. Riviera Maya is the perfect size in my opinion. Just wanted to share my thoughts. We definitely wouldn't go here again as Riviera Maya or Cabo were perfect sizes.
How did you find the casino? Was it just slots/machines or were there card games you could join? I am looking for an all inclusive vacation for avid card players but where they can enjoy the beach atmosphere also. Or if not at this resort, do you have any other ones to suggest?
Yes there are card games at the casino! It’s not a super huge casino, but it has a good mix of different games and even a high rollers lounge lol! Another amazing resort with a casino is Atlantis Bahamas. We have a tour of that resort right here: th-cam.com/video/GsumPEzkKfY/w-d-xo.html
No, we didn’t. The food offerings are a bit hard to capture bc there are a lot of different restaurants around the resort, plus a market style restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 🤷🏼♀️ we didn’t have enough time at the resort to film all of the food offerings 🤷🏼♀️
Just got home from the hard rick last Saturday...I echo your comment. The resort is beautiful, the beach is by far the best I've seen, the food was terrific rooms were huge. However after night 2, I said the same thing you did about feeling like I was at our local mall shopping...Zero night life other than the theater...Smaller resorts are so much better for outside bar experience, and just walking around, but the rest of the pros are hard not to want to visit again!!!!
We didn’t see any vendors on the beach at the Hard Rock! Even at the Bahia Principe a few hotels down, there were just a few people asking if you wanted to do water sports but I think the only asked us a few times. They were not aggressive at all and a polite “no” does the trick 👍🏻
Yea it is tough! So many great places!! Our favourite go to destination is Mexico! We find the service, food and beach are all excellent! Good luck with your decision 😊

Nothing is free anymore😅 Every resort that you booked anywhere in DR, Punta Cana, Mexico. - you always pay for transport.
Not true - u can book a vacation package through Expedia for example, that includes transportation

We went in March, 2022 - which was still during the pandemic so that’s why it was so empty.

Beautiful massive hotel but it looked so deserted perhaps because it's super expensive! 😞
This was also during Covid times where capacities were very low. Also, the resort is so massive that even with more people, you won’t feel crowded.

Did you need to take a covid test of usd 150 at arrival at the hotel? On expedia its stated that this is obligatory by the hotel? I don’t know if its old information.
I would assume that is old information 🤷🏼♀️ there are no testing requirements for entering Dominican, you just have to check with the country you are returning to to see what the testing requirements are. For example, for us in Canada we had to do an antigen test one day before our return flight (we are vaccinated) and it was around $30-$35 USD.

Went here last summer for vacation for one week. We weren't really impressed. (We have gone to many Hard Rock resorts such as Cancun, Riviera Maya, and Cabo, so we have some experience with these resorts.) This resort is wayyyy to big, too much walking, and the rooms weren't the cleanest. Walking from your room to the pool definitely gets annoying after a couple of days as it could take almost 5 minutes. Although, I did enjoy the beach as the waves were insane, there was so much algae in the water and washed up on the sand that people had to come and put them all in big bags. The casino did look nice. I am going to Riviera Maya for a highschool senior spring break trip and I'm beyond excited. Riviera Maya is the perfect size in my opinion. Just wanted to share my thoughts. We definitely wouldn't go here again as Riviera Maya or Cabo were perfect sizes.

How did you find the casino? Was it just slots/machines or were there card games you could join? I am looking for an all inclusive vacation for avid card players but where they can enjoy the beach atmosphere also. Or if not at this resort, do you have any other ones to suggest?
Yes there are card games at the casino! It’s not a super huge casino, but it has a good mix of different games and even a high rollers lounge lol! Another amazing resort with a casino is Atlantis Bahamas. We have a tour of that resort right here: th-cam.com/video/GsumPEzkKfY/w-d-xo.html

No, we didn’t. The food offerings are a bit hard to capture bc there are a lot of different restaurants around the resort, plus a market style restaurant that serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 🤷🏼♀️ we didn’t have enough time at the resort to film all of the food offerings 🤷🏼♀️

How did you find the Wi-Fi at the resort?
It was a bit dodgy the closer you got to the beach.. but not bad. It worked well in our room and in the lobby and restaurants. 👍🏻

Just got home from the hard rick last Saturday...I echo your comment. The resort is beautiful, the beach is by far the best I've seen, the food was terrific rooms were huge. However after night 2, I said the same thing you did about feeling like I was at our local mall shopping...Zero night life other than the theater...Smaller resorts are so much better for outside bar experience, and just walking around, but the rest of the pros are hard not to want to visit again!!!!

1 things been putting me off dominican is alot of people saying about agressive vendors on the beaches?
We didn’t see any vendors on the beach at the Hard Rock! Even at the Bahia Principe a few hotels down, there were just a few people asking if you wanted to do water sports but I think the only asked us a few times. They were not aggressive at all and a polite “no” does the trick 👍🏻
