Helpful tip from another Ion main: Laser Shot is your best weapon on Ion. It one shots Pilots, does great damage to Titans and Reapers, is basically hitscan, and you can cancel the shot via melee if you need too. Run the abilities on Ion that let you regain Energy when you make critical hits and you end up in a fun loop where you're sniping Titans, reflecting their projectiles back at them, and using your primary fire to simply regain energy to continue the loop over and over again.
