I hate that I'm 2000 and late on this video but I can't believe the doltish question that were asked. This guy is so full of knowledge and everyone is asking stupid questions.
I'm almost ready to get some sounds again. Its been about 6 or 7 years. But my last 2 set ups were sundown, had 4 sa15s powered by a saz3500 and then 2 x18s on the same power with all the electrical upgrades, singer 275 anp alternator and 4 runs of knu wire.
I have 2 Sundown UV2 15s on 2 jp23 v1.5’s strapped, 2 256 amp alts and 96ah of headway. And brooooooooo these Uv2 15s get down. I took the chance on these over the x v3 and I couldn’t be happier. They hit low notes much better than I was expecting they would. And I only have about 3 hours of play time on them so far. So I’m pretty sure they aren’t broken in all the way yet. I’m wanting to get my setup metered. And probably get 2 more Uv2 15s and a jp83 but for now I am more than happy with the 2. I had the uv1 12s and these are a completely different monster. I know they are only rated 250 rms over the v1 but that’s under rated without a doubt. If you’re thinking of getting the uv2 you will not be disappointed.
Something I was wondering that I may have guessed why now and that is seems the "u" series has a V2 frame mayyyyby thats why the Wlldse HCY subs use a U frame, (the do not have the aluminum trim ring) it may come from the same build house so there using the old V1 u frame on the HCY.... I'm sure there's people that say " no not the same no crappy budget subs are using a sundown frame" which hey maybe I'm wrong I don't know for sure but looking at both I can not see a difference they look identical and seems the U comes from China why would it be so unbelievable it's just a frame. and yes low priced but not "cheap" I grabbed a couple HCY 12s just because of there features combined with that they were priced soooo low! I paid $122 for the first on I was impressed and ordered a 2nd but price went to $142 but that's still a great price for what your getting which is possibly a U frame (15&12) 3" copper coil, 2 layer spider, and nice wide 200oz double stack motor with a 1200wrms rating. And I tried those 2 12s on my cab 45 and they took that at . 5 ohm...Now there in my car on a apcle1800.1 at . 5 ohm and they slam and take a lot of abuse so maybe there so good because they come from the same build house .. maybe? I dunno.

Derrick first off I love the u series subs , but I would love to see (6) of those sml subs in one box ported . Just to see. How well they would preform ,on one of your sun down amps. Thanks again !
@@tammyforbes2101 yeah I do realize that Small/Thiele parameters are required for enclosure design. I just never see much on sealed enclosures much these days. Sealed boxes give a wide range in bandwidth and ported boxes a lot of the times are one note wonders yet still have a good range in bandwidth. I will just do some research and figure out sealed parameters per sub.
Hey, I know you want a decent video you're internet bandwidth is a issue for streaming. Lower the resolution you are streaming at. You are currently getting like 10-15fps.

I'm 'bout to upgrade subs in the car, but don't wanna buy alternator and battery, so probably gonna do (1) U15d2 or U18d2 on a SKAR RP1500.

It’s all in the specs! Most take ported boxes just depends on the sub!

I think the 750 watts Rms rating is for the classic 15 inch v1? This new 15 inch U V2= 1,750 Rms!
Uv1 is 1500rms, uv2 is 1750rms
