    Pretty funny how the "barra" engine is such a bug deal over there. They're everywhere here in aus.

      Lol we didn’t get ANY cool engines here, that’s why 🤣

      @@behradsays yeah just seems funnier to me cause they came in the family sedans for mums to get the kids to school.

    I’ve never seen anyone replace the vvti seal with the cam gear on the motor. folks usually the the entire cam gear off and re-seal it. But if it works it works 🤷🏾‍♂️

      So far, no leaks! I was surprised by the method too lol

    use water pump 2JZGTE non vvti or VVTI?

      I don’t think they’re different.. but I’m not 100% sure. I ordered my 2jz water pump from driftmotion, they only had one option.

      Interestingly enough, they looked identical! Steel propeller on both of them haha

      I always heard they were different too. I haven't swapped out mine yet. Thanks for the info!!!

      Yeah I’m thinking because mine is a jzs171, maybe they came with upgraded water pumps or it was recently serviced and upgraded. Cause the pump I took off was mint condition still lol

    Do you not need to reseal the water pump housing to the block when installing the water pump? The house seems to have moved when taking off the water pump.

      The water pump comes with a gasket you swap. I couldn’t tell you why I didn’t show that in this video hahah.

    Im doing a 1jz swap on my Genesis. I was thinking about doing this before I drop it in. What are the benefits of the 2jz pump? Serious question 👀

    • @behradsays
      @behradsays  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry for the late reply! But the 2jz pump has a metal propeller wheels as opposed to ceramic I believe. It lasts longer and less chance of failure.

  • @KeepMovingForwardU
    @KeepMovingForwardU 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    you can not reuse the hydraulic tensioner once the pin has been removed

    • @behradsays
      @behradsays  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh, why is that?

    • @KeepMovingForwardU
      @KeepMovingForwardU 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@behradsays good question. Toyota advises to always replace it when the pin has been removed so i always bought a new one everytime. Maybe it still works if you compressed it but i was not willing to take the risk and lose timing or something
