Very nice and easy to understand tutorial, didn't expect to see some of my splash screens to make an appearance in one of your videos tho. Since you were the one who inspired me with the scooby doo foot prints in the first place.
Very cool! I love the little OLED on my Haute box. Kind of a gimmick but having a funny little image or something is just the motivation you need between rounds sometimes. Great vid as always!
Yeah, a bit of a gimmick, but the best kind of gimmick since they are so fun to mess around with. And totally agree on your midmatch motivation angle, lol! Thanks for watching, dude!
Finding a suitable, thin and compact acrylic case for attaching the oled on the exterior of my stick is the harder task. I could only find a standing acrylic case. Managed to sandwich the oled between 2 front layer of the case with bolts and nuts and attached them to my stick with a makeshift of 4 layers of adhesive foam pad (hole cut in the middle to put the oled in)
@@HushMySweet1i also use single core copper wires 0.5mm and solder directly to the pinholes on the oled pcb so i could bend them flat on the pcb. And then i flat braid the wires and sleeve them with clear heatshrink. Pretty neat looking when you don't want to hide the wires. Makes it look techy. I wish i could show you.
Yeah, you don't need to use the splash screen image at all. It will normally default back to the inputs after a short time, but you can change the duration. If it isn't changing back, then you likely have the box checked to make it indefinite. Just open it up in the web configurator and set your duration or remove. Hopefully that helps!
The Scooby ones are Slab Mini devices. You can get them on etsy. Then I just installed orange keycaps and put in some Scooby art I commissioned from graphic design guy "hugs_n_giggles / globe." You can find him on twitter. Good luck!

Right on! You've got some great ones so it's fun to see how it went full circle! Thanks for watching/commenting too!

Thanks for the helpful tip! I hope you had a great holiday weekend!
Thank you! You too!
Straight-forward and awesome video. Thank you

An oled on your own, personally fabricated custom sounds super rad. But the real question, Michael: What did you put on your splash screen?!
@@HushMySweet1 hahaha spent so much effort on the casing so i just took the one available on gp2040 site "there's a new challenger"

Send a pic to my email in the bio if you need to show it off. Otherwise, I'll be at Evo if you're bringing it there! Have a good one, dude!
Where can I find this dog pixel art?
Poke around on their discord. There is a channel which has lots of user-created ones and that's where I grabbed this one. discord.gg/3qkAJKrg
Is there a way to put it back to it's default display where it shows the mode and inputs?

How’d you make the scooby doo one? What board and art and buttons please

Not yet, but hopefully "soon." (I know some are working on it, but no official timelines.) Thanks for watching!

I thought they were LCD screens
They are listed as OLED screens on both the Haute42 website and ArcadePCB's etsy page, so that's what I went with. Thanks for watching and commenting!
