- Supercar looks, supercar doors, supercar price tag. The first mid-engined Maserati supercar for a generation... 0-62mph in 2.9 seconds, top speed of 202mph, but after 50 years out of the game, has Maserati nailed it with the MC20?

This one is a gem. A rare gem in an era full of facelifts, fake exhausts, fake noise, hybrid this and that... Bravo Maserati, bravo 👏
Sad that the new GranTurismo is all electric.
@@Grievance_Studies_Affair_2018 True, true. I get chills every time I start up that V8 in the morning...one day this will all be lost by fake wizardly sounds by the speakers and uninspiring silence...
@@Grievance_Studies_Affair_2018 3.0L V6 as well
@Il.Livorno.Volante i mean probably the only one. It's a really powerful v6 but that's it. They can definitely do much better with v8.
bruv its a v6 its not that special
I must admit that I'm a bit biased because I love Maserati. Period.
The Granturismo, the Quattroporte (5th gen with astonishing looks and a Ferrari 4.7 V8), the MC12, even the Ghibli is cute as a button but underpowered.
Now the MC20 is a dream to me. No electric motors, RWD, an Italian design that puts sooooo many supercars to shame, a roar that makes sure to be heard and the almighty trident...
Pure love!
I'm biased too because I hate Maserati, and this is hands reeeally down the most beautiful supercar in decades!
@@doctordoom02big ups on your post. I like people who call it they see it.
One of the best looking cars in recent years. Love this.
many reviewers keep saying it"s too expensive for what it is, honestly i kind of agree but i'd buy it for the looks alone. it's gorgeous
I saw it in person and it looks GREAT! So much better than any video. Sat in it and it is set up perfectly with TONS of head room.
Too bad Alfa wasn't allowed to release it. Maybe it makes more sense as a Maserati.
@@IanHobdaydidn’t know this but it’d look amazing with the Alfa badge. Maserati needed it though and it does really look proper!
considering the fact most supercars are mostly speed focused this is MC20 is a great take on a what a supercar really is... a fun toy for many can enjoy. not a super techy advanced car with just numbers... this car is a reminder of what a supercar really is meant to be, appreciate it maserati :) and i agree very much with chris' opinion.
I've seen a few of these on the street here in Vancouver and they look even better in person. Really glad some of the "lesser" legendary sports car makers like Maserati and Lotus are back with top tier cars.
I saw one today and it was quite breathtaking coming towards me.
There’s nothing “lesser” about Maserati….
This car is simply EPIC. The best looking vehicle on the market, drives like crazy. Chris approval also proves that car means the business.
Pizza business
In certain angle, MC20 resembles the almighty Noble M600. Awesome lines!
ha yes funny you should say that because that's exactly what i was thinking.
And with that beautiful blue also...
Could say it was a Ferrari maybe.
@@hellocookie5932 nope ^^
Dude... :p
That's what it reminded me too!
I've never EVER been a maserati fan, I've always been a Shelby fan, and mclaren for supercars (765lt)
BUT: IMO the MC20 is THE MOST BEAUTIFUL CAR MADE IN THE LAST 10 YEARS! Do you agree?
Maserati MC12: "Am I a joke to you?"
That's a Racecar
Exactly
@@abishek4300 it's a glorified super car anywhere else in the world. Lol
MC12 is just a reskinned Ferrari though. I think they used ‘proper’ and ‘genuine’ here for a reason.
No, you're a Ferrari's side job.
It has to go like Hell through the turns. It's a Maserati. Mission accomplished. Well done, Maserati.
Chris Harris Back at it again the MC20 is beautiful in person 🎉🎉
He is the only man keeping top gear alive, I still think Chris Harris, Neil carey and Chris waterfield was the best thing ever happened on TH-cam. Because these cars need a proper "Chris Harris on cars" review..
top gear is dead with the trio going on other show its not the same animore look the grand tour you can see its top gear but way better !
@@gorgewashington1216 disagree - the Grand Tour was a boring attempt at motoring entertainment and failed abysmally. In fact prior to Grand Tour Top Gear had become awful aswell - less about the cars and driving and more about entertainment and the presenters 🥱😴😴🤤
@@peterbest5938 i completely disagree. the grand tour was fantastic and I'm amazed to hear that you actually prefer top gear.
@@olivergriffiths4445 actually I never said I prefer Top Gear I thinks it became and is a dreadful program so don’t watch it these days. In the very early days it was informative and interesting but then became more about the presenters and entertainment
@@gorgewashington1216 joke of The year...if u like The Trio....pls commenT on their page....donT dirTy this page
He didn't mention the throttle response, which is the biggest superpower of this supercar.
Chris Harris single handedly keeping Maserati cool...and I'm very glad because Maserati deserves to stick around based on an incredible history of making beautiful and relevant performance cars.. 👏
they are cool. but three haunting words: italian build quality.
As a proud Maserati owner this one here is the last masterpiece Maserati will create for its final gasoline motor before the switch to full EV ^ what were witnessing is a piece of history this will be a big future classic
Mr. Harris is the Man, A Car is not Properly Tested & Reviewed Until Chris Man Handles It‼️👍🏽
Someone who's accustomed to the wilder super/hypercars of today might think this car is bit plain but I really like it's simplicity and focus.
This car will still look gorgeous even 30 years from now, such a timeless design and so refreshing to see a sportscar that is not plastered with wings for once!
Tbh i´m already kinda over all those tablesized swan-neck backwings.
The MC20 Cielo is my absolute favourite. I do like the Coupe, but I don't feel the temptation of owning one. The convertible Cielo version though, COUNT ME IN! WHAT A BEAUTY! 😍😍
I really hope Maserati go into gt3 racing with that model and produce some results with it so can build more hype around that car, which is seriously underrated in my opinion
R8 we will miss you….
Maserati…thank you for filling the hole in our hearts 🥲🫶🏽
"What no 911 could possibly do." That's a big statement to make. I'm even more impressed with that car.
precisely why more people should drive caymans.
the 911 handles great for its own formula. and beats most supercars.
Fair play to Chris, he has adapted so well to being a TV presenter. But he is and always will be an automotive journalist at heart and his best work will always be his own, driven by passion and away from BBC scripts and direction.
Loved it! Does anyone notice that these super cars are the same as art? In 100 years, they will only be able to see them in museums and say to themselves, "Wow, how lucky they were to drive so many different masterpieces on gasoline."
Except only a few people actually get to drive these things, while the rest of us our scraping by to own a fifteen year old Honda or are up to our eyeballs in automotive debt.
Don't remind me of Cadillac Elmiraj. 😓😓
Well shet
This is how you create a self fulfilling prophecy.@@thisisbenji90
The most beautiful supercar in 2022.
Another great bit of motoring journalism from Chris Harris!
The Nettuno injection system is the party piece. There is a pre-combustion chamber which allows to inject already ignited petrol and air mixture, into the mains combustion chambers. That's why this 3.0 liter v6 has more than 120 bhp than any other 3.0 liters twin-turbo!
Just seen an all black one and it's the first super car in ages that I like. Amazing styling and curves it's a beautiful car. Future classic for sure. It's a timeless design
The MC20 is 90% the best at everything it does, and never drops the ball in any way. Where some supercars are the best at this or that, the Maserati is only "very good". Where other supercars fall short in one or many areas, the Maserati doesn't. Great car.
I misjudged this car when it came out. It looks awesome and is very compact, very simple formula, and it works.
Sorry Chris, ya missed the MC12. Friends owned one and its nothing short of spectacular.
Rebodied Enzo, hardly a Maserati
@@Mdgld aren’t all of them just neutered Ferraris?
Not necessarily, it's more akin to how people say the mk5 supra and the Z4 are the same car. But those who reviewed the 2 separately explained they are completely different dynamic wise.@@TH-camuser1aa
What a pity that I don't have the money to buy it, but definitely a great pure V6 supercar !
I love it
They had the MC12 in the 2004/2005, so that's much less than 50 years out of the game.
And it was built (like the MC20) to go back to GT racing.
Literally thinking the same thing watching this.
One of the best current supercars to own and keep
My first knowledge of Maserati was 8yr old me discovering the Ghibli BiTurbo. While not a "supercar", it still sticks in my mind today.
Mine was the 3200 GT and after that the quattraporte. Stunning machines
My first Maserati experience was a demonstrator ride as a passenger,, with Danish racecar driver Jason Watt at the wheel, in a Maserati Shamal, on the highway near the city of Nærum, organised as a lottery win at an open house day at specialist cardealer Hersild & Heggov.
Tremendous power from that generously installed V8, and classically styled leather interior.
Looks super stylish I must say.
1:07 Was there a major earthquake? Everyone alright?
Another great bit of motoring journalism from Chris Harris))
Chris Harris, I must say, is the finest motoring journalist ever. I’m old school, a fan of Clarkson, Tiff Needell, Andrew Frankel, et. al.
But I must say, every time a video is released by Chris via any of his associated channels, I am itching to watch what he has to say, and aside from the fact that he really knows his way around a car, he does give really very practical advice!
A true journalist, a true car guy. Fair play, Chris.
I see Chris Harris, I click. Was about time!
I havent been in love with a car this much since I first saw the Audi R8 in the first Iron Man movie. This car is just gorgeous. This car is like the Maserati version of the 458. Kinda like the enzo vs the MC12.
This car is way different than 458
The MC12 was an absolutely gorgeous supercar, put some respeck on its name
In another segment; we all would love to see Chris drive and review the new Z06 Corvette.
I'm glad it exists" yeah...
I do not know much about cars and have never really been into cars but there is something about this one I like.
M A S E R A T I 🗝
If it’s a Maserati, it better look damn good as it will be sitting most of the time
I've been following Chris Harris all over the internet for the better part of 10 years, and Top Gear is vastly improved with his presence, but I wish they weren't still shooting every episode like it's a History Channel dramatization from the mid-2000s
The ramping and shakeycam is so aggressive it's almost boring
Maserati is one of my favourite luxury car
the MC12 was a genuine super car and that came out in 2004
Nettuno is a pretty fricking badass name for engine though. They made this glorious machine and named it after Roman god of the Sea. Damn.
The intake sound is great, but the exhaust needs just a bit more volume.
Everybody put afternarket on other supercars also its just has to be this way bc of rules now
I’m a simple man, I see Chris Harris and I click to watch.
Best looking supercar on the market, by far.
McLaren is the best super car 🚗 not this crap
@@dmytryblyzniuk8211 LOL, the McLaren Artura is shit.
McLaren much more better made, faster and more reliable 😎😎😎😎😎✌️
@@dmytryblyzniuk8211 LOL you have no idea what you're talking about, McLaren is known for being very unreliable.
I miss "Chris on Cars" ☹️
50 years Lmao.. Anyone heard of Maserati MC12?
Maserati is pretty underrated for an Italian automobile brand.
I love the way oit looks, it has MC12 heritage and Chris approves the driving characteristics- I approve too:)
Despite being a previous Maserati owner I want one
Did you completely forget about the Maserati MC12?
Not including the MC12 in the supercar lineup???
Anyone else just happy to see a new car coming out that’s not an ev
the first proper Maserati supercar in over 50 years, MC12: Am i a joke to you?
You forgot the MC12!! That is 17 years old
Nice to see you Chris ! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Il Demonio, Maserati! A magnificent piece of Italian engineering all around. Well done.
People don’t realise that unlike other Italian manufacturers Maserati is good at reliability and always been unique and they have a well kept secret when it comes to exhaust sound.
Chris Harris is the best automotive journalist ever!
How about MC12?
I saw this car parked up at my local supermarket, I thought it was a Ferrari from the distance, as I got closer I was surprised by the badge, I don't really like the look of most supercars but this one looked really good in person.
296 GTB without electricity and less money...more pure 👌
Always watching from Georgetown Guyana south America 🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾🇬🇾
uh, how about the MC12?
MC12 doesn’t count?
when I read "50 years" , i legit thought of 1950. Damn
A V6 can be a beast when you stack some turbos on it. I love my ecoboost F150. It pulls like a beast. The drivetrain will actually pull more than the truck will. I found that out the hard way.
I love this car. I will get one on the second hand market. Until then, I will enjoy my Maserati Granturismo Sport.
WOW .. what a phenomenal beauty!
And mc12 is what? Chopped liver?
I’m so glad Chris tested this
I am so happy it exists as well
Few review a car as well as Chris. As for the MC, Outstanding job Maserati!
Thank you Mr Harris
Chris keeping top gear alive
Problem is, Chris doesn't even do most of the car reviews. We don't even get the motoring journalist to do the motoring bit. We get those other 2. So Top Gear is 98% unwatchable garbage
Superb looking car can’t wait to see one in the flesh if anyone buys one
Mc12:🤫
Why did they not mention Maserati MC12 as the last supercar? Was it a bad car or something?
Crazy how similar the emira and the mc20 look
You feel the G forces and you get dizzy quickly when you flick this from side to side. No other car (Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche) gives me that sensation. I would only sell this for another one if they don't mess up the new one.
Great car, probably the most
Interesting newish car on the
Market, at the moment. 👍
This, and the new Maserati GT Folgore
The F40 did 202mph lol
I know the MC12 is an Enzo but it’s still a Maserati so I would say that’s the last super car
thing will depreciate like a rock
Saw one of these today on my way home from work (from Guildford to Basingstoke) on the M3 around junction 4, southbound. Sat behind it for a bit, then it pulled into the slow lane and I think peeled off into the Fleet services. Absolutely gorgeous. Was orange and when I went past it in the fast lane (it was in the slow lane by then) I stuck my thumb up to the driver. Beautiful car!
I think you forgot about MC-12.
Stunning car!
You forgot they made the insanely fast MC12!!!!
The MC12 was basically just an Enzo
Saw a couple of these in traffic today and they both looked fantastic though the white one looked best to me, the other was blue.
Yeah what about the MC12?
The first Maserati since the 50s 450s sports racing car I'd want!
Just completely ignoring the MC12?
Just a masterpiece
For me this is the most beautiful car on sale
