Forward Unto Dawn was set before the fall of Reach, when they were still fighting the insurrectionists, it’s at the very start of the Human/Covenant war. Laskey (yes, the one from HALO 4) had the ODST brother that was killed by the insurrectionists, not the covenant. It’s actually a plot point in the movie where one of the kids gets helmet cam footage from a recent fight that shows the UNSC forces fighting WITH the insurrectionists, and you see an energy sword in a reflection, as well as a spartan 2 (don’t think it was chief) fighting with the elite holding it.
Halo 1 takes place immediately AFTER reach, they’re fleeing from reach on a “random” jump and discover the ring.
God I could not breathe, tears streaming from laughing. I honestly think this is the closest I've come to passing out from laughter and Im not mad xD

I just hit the part where they were discussing the Xbox being out when he was like 6. I played Halo in 2001 at 5 years old and to this day it remains my fav game series.

It’s funny Brandon is the youngest of his friends group. All my friends are older so when we get into talking about the good ole days I’m like “yeah I remember playing the ps2 when I was a kid”
Relatable, I grew up on the ps1 and ps2. Have you tried going back? The games don't look the way I remember them...to say the least.

I was born 9 years after Brandon, my first Halo game was Reach. First game I spent a lot of time on was Ghost Recon: Future Soldier.
My favorite moment is that they all agreed at "THIS IS WHAT IT IS LIKE BEING A MANAGER!!!!" As a manager, specifically with restaurants... yeah, basically with slightly more booze involved (joking...ish)
19:00 minute mark is why donut doesn't talk when baddie is around.
This is now my favorite podcast, I listen to like 4 or 5 Podcast channels total and this one has topped it. It's the only one to stay completely and utterly not serious and i appreciate the hell out of it!

Man, the "Duke" controllers were my favorite controller for the Xbox as a kid in late middle school. Everyone had the version 2 "S type" controllers and I remembered bringing my OG Duke controller with me everywhere because I hated the smaller controller layout.
And yeah, in the helmet cam in the movie it wasn't John(117), it was Fredric(104) you can see his number in the video. He was also in the Pelican at the end of the Forward Unto Dawn, one of the Spartans that took his helmet off. IIRC, they were either as old, or a little younger than the cadets they were rescuing and it showed on their face, dispite being 7-8ft tall, why the one cadet asked them how old they were.
That series was beautifully done.
