😂😂😂 It was a full 2+ minutes into the video clip before we heard John Amos say 2 words. I doubt that anyone clicked on this video to hear Luenell ramble on. 'Just shut up already!'
John Amos has played some incredible roles but his role on Good Times was the most important and legendary one despite towards the end of the series...true or facts?
I hope there’s more of this interview. I love Lu, but she interrupted when John Amos was about to speak when he and Ester Roll were at the unemployment office. 🙄
I watched Live on ABC when they redid Good Times, Amos played Alderman Fred Davis, he looked much older than he did on this interview. He looks good for 80. John Amos is a very good actor.
The greatest realest TV dad ever James Evans from Good Times he didn't play no games with ya... Especially in Black culture at that time and still now in my opinion.
it just truly doesn't get better than good times. perfect mix of comedy, drama and theater with a well rounded dynamic cast. And everybody brought their A game each episode. even when you know of the drama behind the scenes, it never came across in any of the episodes during or since. season 4 is probably my favorite season, folllowd by 3, 2, 6 and 1. i'm in and out on 5 past the 3 part opener.
The thing about James Evans is he got knocked down all the time and always got back up - one job, two jobs, whatever it took. Just like my father and grandfather and me. He even died working to save his family
Cabrini green projects got torn down years ago and when that happened all the gangs that were in there got spread out to other gang infested neighborhoods across Chicago and the murders skyrocketed
Damn that sucks. I visited Chicago when the gentrification process started. I was so excited to see the high rise in real life. I'll never forget that time.
ABSOLUTELY he was the favorite “black” father on tv. For ME, personally, James Evans and Andy Griffith are my 1A and 1B fave dads (shows) in no order. They’re both my favorite.
And the nerve... She isn't exactly Jet center fold material herself. Although she does have some strategically posed nudes in some famous magazine, they knew how to hide the negatives and accentuate the positives. That's the only thing that made the photos presentable. The only thing they couldn't hide was that thick neck. Can't do nudes in a turtleneck. LOL 😜🤣
Funny if a man would have said that mess he would have got that smoke 💨 (and deserved it). Women need to uplift each other and support each other. Most of us had someone in our family that Ms. Rolle reminded us of. She was a REAL WOMAN.
Coke Lord right. Jimmy Walker seems extremely negative in interviews I’ve seen him in. Especially when he talks about the show. That’s why he looks like that. John Amos looks way better than him even though it’s not that big if a age difference between the two.
Jimmie "JJ" Walker was never a pretty boy, but at 72 years old he still appears to be in good health. The age of the characters on Good Time was not in line with the actors they portrayed.
I gotta admit Lunelle is doing her thing on these interviews. I haven't seen her as an interviewer anywhere else so she is killin' this. Peace to the Queen and the original father John Amos. Nah mean?!!! 🎤💯🔥✌
John Amos came to Annapolis Maryland and did a One Man show. My brother Mike got to meet him and spend time with Mr Amos and he really enjoyed the time spent together. He still talks about it to this day.
Luenell, Bless your heart ❤️ Interviewing is a work of curiosity. You must ask open ended questions for the guest to answer instead of ones that can be answered in one word.
He played james. My father was named james. Killed off the show in '75. My own father died in '75. And my name is michael. This show will always resonate with me. Profoundly.... rip mr. Amos
I'm ginger white kid and in the 90s I loved watching Good Times, Family Matters, and Fresh Prince. I watched Boy Meets World and Step by Step, but there was something about the black father that projected greater strength, discipline, and respect.
What are they on about? Mr Amos played Ms Rolle’s husband, Henry on the tv show, Maude. Ms Rolle was brilliant on Maude and had become a favourite. Which is why she was given her own show and asked the producer to consider Mr Amos to play her husband again.
Really good selection of people interviewed. Luenell do that thing you are funny and a great interviewer the way you keep on track. Input some of you personality, but still let them speak.
As good of a man as James Evans was, John Amos is even better. He made immeasurable sacrifices to protect his integrity, and promote manhood. Salute!
Thanks for the insight OG. Please continue to spread the knowledge of this systematic country we live in💯

PURE FACTS ! Willie D !
As good of a group the Ghetto Boys was, Bushwick Bill was even better. He made immeasurable sacrifices to protect his integrity, and promote manhood to the group.
James was the realest black father on TV.
Philip Banks and Carl Winslow
James didn't have two nickels to rub together, but his character was the epitome of a man.
AS A "BLACK" MAN
I'm a Black woman, and he's a Black man, so that's obvious. 🙄

Even after being "fired"..he still has respect for Norman Lear.. "Mr Lear"..what a respectable soul you are🙂 thanks Brother Amos‼
What a gentle, good looking man. Would love to see him on TV again!

Agreed. Love her personality but she gotta learn to listen and allow the person she’s interviewing to speak.
He played a true role model on Good Times.
He is a great actor and person. His two children are both good looking too. He’s just a great personality too. One of the best!!!
Thought vlad was the worst in interrupting people he interview🤔. I STAND corrected
President Popoff yeah but vlad should know better because he’s trained but she’s not

No ! he played a pretty strong role in Roots!
John Amos is an incredible actor... and still holds the title for me as TV's most beloved and respected Father (figure).
I think John got about 25 words in this interview
Always loved John Amos. Good Times was definitely a fav of mine growing up, along with What's Happening and Sanford and Son.
Dear Mr. Amos, I trust you are doing well. My best wishes to you, to all the other surviving cast members of Good Times, and to your loved ones.

Really? What happened? Why didn’t he keep the job?
