I think Bernadette Stanis didn’t want to get into all that, about the problems between Esther Rolle, John Amos with Jimmy Walker. It was said that John Amos and Esther Rolle didn’t talk with Jimmy Walker. Jimmie Walker also didn’t attend Esther Rolle’s funeral. He felt that there wasn’t anything wrong with his character’s silliness because it brought in ratings and also made him a household name and they were threatened by his fame, but Esther Rolle and John Amos felt that he should have stood his ground with them that his character would have a better image to show before the world, instead of what they considered buffoonery. In reality they really did well in covering it up, because I always thought they all got along as working actors, but later learned that, that wasn’t true at all. Why would you not give back a large amount of money if you found it, I've known people who got killed for keeping that. If it's $20, ok but if it is a large amount you better give it back if you love your life.

Bernnadette stanis always cool and the gang and keeping it 💯. That car ride was wild. Jimmy walker was big in the tv world at one time. Cats were looking up to him for real. Esther Rolle and John Amos weren't feeling the shuffling that Norman lear was about
Jimmie really played up not getting along with John and Esther..saying he never had a discussion with them outside of acting which I found interesting as it would seem impossible..I have never seen 70 look so great..
@@marcusjohnson6412 I guess it makes sense as most of use do not have relationships with our coworkers outside of work, and only talk to them during work hours..I think it's more the tone he used like he couldn't tolerate a discussion with them..

They didn't like the buffoonery that he brought to the show. We didn't have many shows back then nd they wanted us to be seen in a more positive light.
Being white when the show was on, my take was showing inequity at the time and family values was first and foremost. The father despite all obstacles, persevered and took care of his family. The mother was the glue of the family as most families are. Michael was intelligent and a fighter of right and wrong. Thelma was a descent, traditional women and JJ being very talented but a clown. But that was the comedy of it. I saw it as a teenager at the time, and think that all the characters portrayed were a microcosm of life. I took a positive opinion of the black community at the time as the majority of the characters were portrayed positively and good family values were projected. Hell, I have been married to my Black best friend and wife for over 34 years.
Do research on top 🔝 d this clip. She if what the others said match what she saying. Including Jimmie Walker. I applaud Bernadette for not bringing trash to John Amos and Esther Rolle. There’s no rumors there’s the words from them… when one was alive and one was in better health. Jimmie also said he didn’t get alone with them.
My only question is why do they have this young inexperienced unaware unreserved non journalist boy interviewing legends that doesn't do any homework on anyone?
Let me take a crack at your question.... comedy hype is a Youth oriented channel started and run by young people so they may not be as culturally knowledgeable about Black culture post 95 - mid 2000s...just my 2 cents
If you read Jimmy Walker's Autobiography.,"Dynomite!: Good Times, Bad Times, Our Times" that's EXACTLY what he was doing! The zinging jokes back and forth? Those guys (and all comedians for that matter) take their craft VERY seriously.
😂 love Bernadette she is so cute 😂I knew her and Jimmy and Ralph got along I had my doubts about Esther and John and Jimmy watching it today I can see a mild strain of (dislike) for Jimmy at times it was like they got tired of him u know always joking and saying certain things that seem to get to them like the episode when Michael wrote to Cuba and it lead to James losing his job and JJ also lost his job and Jimmy was doing a little to much at times like singing the strangled banner in the phone and talking in Michael's shoe u things like that I could see it got on Esther rolle's and John's nerves years ago I didn't notice well I was like what 6 back then Jimmy could be a little abrasive and out there at times but he kept the show going he brought laughter I'll give him that i watch it whenever I catch it on it's still one of my all time favorite sitcoms classic

Yeah I remember him saying that.
He said outside of the set. So he probably had conversations with them during taping just probably only about the tapings.
@@marcusjohnson6412 I guess it makes sense as most of use do not have relationships with our coworkers outside of work, and only talk to them during work hours..I think it's more the tone he used like he couldn't tolerate a discussion with them..
OMG! PLEASE STOP with the dj vlad format, dropping 5min videos over months time! Shannon sharp successfully drops short videos, but ALSO drops the whole interview, so I'm not understanding why you all don't? Is there another platform where the whole interviews are and I'm just missing it?
Full interview is now available at HypersClub.Com
Daymn.. 70 yold and she's absolutely still got IT!! Looks fan friggin tastic!
Just like a brother and sister
Yep
Jimmie Walker is a REAL ONE! He took her out as a big brother them other comedians knew what was up(R.I.P to Freddie Prinze who was with Pam Grier.
It's odd to hear actors & actress say the real names of their co-workers, instead of their stage names....😂
Jon you missing the entire point it's obvious ms Stainis is saying mr Walker treated her like their characters a annoying younger sister who wants to hang with him everywhere and she's explaining how odd and perhaps boring the comedy field was behind the scenes..it wasn't what she thought it would be..I like how ms Bernadette shares her experiences she isn't adding any extras..good job
Wow...They Had Issues Quite Naturally.
Wasn’t good times a Comedy show, and JJ was a comedian right, doing his job on the show, so what did he do what was wrong??
Bet if she was a 👱♀️ he would've been like "OF COURSE U CAN COME; I WAS JUST ABOUT TO ASK U"
Facts!! Because they are the ONLY ones who thought he was cute!!
Dam black dont crack...she still fine 50 yrs later
I love everything about her. I would love to take you out.
They seem to enjoy speaking to him, in general, it doesn't come off as scripted.
It's his channel so he pops out for certain guest that i personally believe Symphony fine self need to handle.
She is gorgeous
She’s so beautiful still
Omg Betnadetteu met Freddy princess!!? Get out gurrl! Fkn love u gurl for life #53🇵🇷
There was a time when she was the most beautiful woman on TV.Still gorgeous❤️🙏🏾💪🏾
She still is the most beautiful and finest!!!
I read that Amos didn't think Esther was hot enough looking for him. She was no beauty & he thought he deserved a better looking wife.
THEY'RE BOTH FRM. BKLYN! IMAGINE THAT CAR RIDE👍
Sounds like he(Jimmy) would go out with his friends and do his comedy gigs after tapings of the shows..
If you read Jimmy Walker's Autobiography.,"Dynomite!: Good Times, Bad Times, Our Times" that's EXACTLY what he was doing! The zinging jokes back and forth? Those guys (and all comedians for that matter) take their craft VERY seriously.
She is so beautiful 🤩
Dam, I have been watching Good Times Seasons for the past 7 Days, how Ironic :)
She was too Pretty & Black for JJ
Hey!....plus, she wasn't a male.....lol
I didnt know that Jimmiw Walker was older than John Amos
He isn't - Amos was born in 1939 and now 84 and Walker was born in 1947 and currently 76.
Bernadette could still get it🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔
Can’t believe any woman that was married 4 times ❌
Bern Nadette 's ex-husbands were controlling and insecure.
@@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc all of them huh? 😂 everybody else’s fault but hers huh? No accountability
Bernadette she is beautiful and fine!!!
@@AngelHoll-pr8fz yeah she still looks like she did when she was on goodtimes hardly aged at all
👍
Bernadette was and is still beautiful....
She sure is!!!
This is porsha Williams real mom lol
Porscha does favors her lol
Now I can’t unsee it!✨
As fine as she was, she had to beg him to take her out??? Wow!!! Jimmy what's up with that???
Yeah she was in the car with a bunch of Hollywood dudes and paid her no attention makes complete sense
Stealing of the flowers isn’t hilarious-that was theft & wrongful appropriation, even.
THELMA THELMA THELMA..
She had the best tatas on tv.!
Did she ever go o. Soul Train?
JJ wierd. Not wanting pick up Thelma!! ???? 😮😂
I think Jimmie Walker had a steady girlfriend at the time.
@GeminiladyJackson-xq6hc and he liked white woman but in an magazine interview he said the first time he saw bernadette he never seen her before and he said she was too pretty so you know I jimmie is into white women not black and he said that about his television sister you know bernadette is the most beautiful black woman in the world!!!
I still want her😍
Interviewer needs some training.
Jimmy walker lame af. Why Thelma has to beg you to escort her out on the town? I’m siding with John Amos and Esther rolle( rip).
Wasn't Bernadette married at that time?
@darylwoodard1054 how could she be married in 1974? She was like 15 right? you have to be 18 to get married
@@AngelHoll-pr8fz She was born in the latter part of 1953, and I remember reading she had a husband at that time.
@darylwoodard1054 oh ok
