I started playing this in 2009 on the PS3 but never finished it. Now I’m playing it in 2020 on the XB1X and this video helped me out immensely. Thanks 👍🏻
Adamantoise in FFXV is easy if we have the right equipment and move set. I’ll only take 1-2 minutes to take him down but not that easy for the one in XIII
This is what I do (non summon) and it takes 2 minutes ... Fang/Vanille/Hope 1) Syn/Syn/Med 2) Com/Rav/Med 3) Rav/Rav/Rav 4) Sab/Sab/Rav 5) Com/Com/Com Start off in 1) and cast haste on everyone, then faithra on vanille and hope, and Bravera on fang. Switch to 2) and targert a leg. As soon as fang stabilizes the guage switch to 3) and stagger. Switch back to 2) and highwind the leg. Repeat the above for the second leg. Once its falls switch to 4) and debuff/debilitate. Once everything is on switch back to 3) and get 999% stagger gauge. Then go to 5) and kill. Fang has Genji Glove. The rest of the accessories dont really matter if you are overpowered. For example I have energy sash, speed sash, and twenty sided die so no attack stat boosting accesories. If you are weaker then you are going to need to buff up longer at the start with protectra/shellra, and equip Gaian Rings and Black Belts/Imperial Armlets etc
Watched like a bunch of video. Congrats on the most reliable way to beat an Adamantoise. Some people's vids have everyone maxed out or using smokes or summoning etc. But this is an all around reliable way to beat one.
when i was recording this Fangs Ravager ability was still level 0. This is just a basic explanation on how to kill them using Highwind for people who don't have all of their jobs maxed.
You have to "kill" both legs in order for it to fall into the ground, there it can't attack you for a period of time which you can use to buff/heal yourself, Stagger it and then continue attacking her, if she goes back up, you have to then again kill the legs, that's the only way to prevent her stomp attack which does a LOT of damage as you can see.
@musicmaniack256 The Genji Gloves removes the 99k damage cap on the character that's wearing it, allowing him/her to deal close to 1 million damage. The accessory is also needed for the Damage Limit achievement/trophy, where you need to break over 100k with a single hit
@catbuffalo Fang only needs about 2100 atp to fight them, you can use a fully upgraded tier 2 weapon on everyone and be fine. Just make sure you have the Genji Gloves or your damage will cap out at 99,999
@ZennExile It's not to show... It's to show people how to kill adamantoises without summoning for people who are struggling. Earth damage is physical damage... So it works fine.
He's wearing some damage reductions + sentinal role gives a passive def bonus (job and skill bonus). I was doing the death spam using Snow as the tank wearing the Ward bonus weapon and it only does like 2-3k per stomp (using damage reductions too ofcourse)
@ElitexxRainx No the ones that walk around are Adamantoise and the ones that stay still in the little chasms are the Adamantortoises. Adamantortoise are weaker but have the same drops.
@TheLiveGames actually, the adamantortoise do have less health and streangth, but their magic is much higher, so a quake or roar is deadly. the most notable asthetic differance is that adamantortoise have broken tusks, wich leads me to beileve, on a fairly irrelevant note that they are the seniors of the adamantoise population.
It's a really good vid. However it would have been nice to see what paradigms you selected prior to engaging the Adamantoise. I can put them up if it's all right with you. Fang/Vanille/Hope Com/Rav/Rav - Relentless Assault Sen/Med/Med - Combat Clinic Syn/Med/Syn - Recuperation Sab/Sab/Syn - Espionage Sen/Med/Syn - Protection
Wow.... Gonna use this strategy now. I have pretty much finished the crystarium for all characters and STILL find it impossible to kill these without the spamming of the Death spell. Thanks for this! hopefully it'll work for me! *runs off to try*
@princejmye You mean Aurora Scarf, which starts of with a full ATB, this giving you first strike. You upgrade a Whistlewind Scarf [iirc] which you can get from one of treasure spheres [can't recall which one] in Chapter 9 or buy from Moogleworks.
@raisin22 He switches Fang to a Sentinel right before he gets hit. I'm assuming at late Sen levels, the damage decrease is much better than early on, allowing this 3k-5k difference
thanks for this, once you get control over what to do this is extremely easy to pull off. my chars still arent maxed so i cant get them down in 1 stagger yet, i kill one in about 5min or so with the setup shown here. much better than the silly death trick that takes just as long with bad death luck, or even a lot longer considering you need tp for your summons. if he dazes you, just spend 1 tp on renew & you're all set again.
Mission 62 is where I got mine. I did it right after the mission became available to me, I have a strategy on how to beat it fairly easily in one of my other videos. It is located in the circle of stones in The Archylte Steppe.
@JWPnim Great job on maxing out the chrystarium. But 5:30 is nothing to make jokes at, that was pretty good. 2 min is great also but this guy didn't max out everyone.
hey thanx man! i wasnt going to try this seemed complicated... but once you get the pattern its awesome!! and you can kill 3 get your tp up then use the summon way!! thanx man
@usavichvich chapter 11 is when you initially see these guys, but after you beat the game it asks you one last time to save. do so and reload that save when back at the title screen. you'll be where you were just before the last boss('s) there's two warp gates you can then use to get back to Gran Pulse. After beating the game the crystarium expands some-what allowing you access to a whole load of HP 'n junk :-D
just a tip mate, instead of manualy choosing the "spam" attacks, just highlight abilities and hold the right direction pad and then when "repeat" comes up press X. it only works after you manualy choose the comands for the first time.
@jed112 I agree, using Summons or Shrouds is effective but you need to wither keep buying more or regaining back the TP and it gets really annoying, I find it better to just use skills, haha. Plus it feels more rewarding too!
Just one gripe with this video. Instead of choosing Ruin, Ruin, Ruin etc. every time, just hover over "abilities", hold right and hit the action button. This repeats your previous action of that role, so even if you shift paradigms and go back to Commando, you can still choose your 'previous set of commands' in little more than one button smash.
@3FruitsPunch I used death a number of times and it worked. So thanks! The only problem with death is there's only a 1% chance of it sticking. So some of those battles took 15-20 minutes. But I've collected the genji gloves since so now I use the strategy shown in the vid. The difference is with the gloves, you can kill it before it gets back up. Now I'm stuck on the Shaolong Gui's lol. Can't find a way around them.
@musicmaniack256 The G gloves reads that you can deal up to 999,999 dmg. Hmm, I used Death on several enemies, yet I didn't get the achievement/trophy until I used Fang's Highwind while she was wearing it.
Impressive for someone not using Lightning. But then again, Sazh is in my party only because I find his afro stylish and he due to the fact the keeps a Chocobo in there. I mean you gotta have a lot of attitude to pull an afro like that, have a tiny Chocobo in there and still look badass.
@3FruitsPunch Tried it using multiple strategies, same results. As soon as I drop its health to a certain level, it rapid fires Ultima, roar and quake. I'm in Tortoise for Ultima but it wipes out half my health. So I switch to Salvation to heal but stops me with roar. That leaves me dazed and with very low health. Before I can cure the daze and finish healing, it fires quake or Ultima again. One time it fired rapid fired Ultima 3 times back to back to kill me. But I'll check out your links!
I reached Gran Pulse last week. I'm not even going to dare attempt to try taking down one of these things yet. I doubt I'm even strong enough. Where I left off last week, I obtained Hope's Eidolon Alexander. I'm just going to try grinding while fighting other monsters for a bit.
Did you grind sacrifices to earn gil for the tier 3 weapons????? Good video but i'd prefer to know how to take him before getting tier 3 weapons and having 20k hp. Right now i have fang at 2800 strength (power gloves) and she has around 14k hp. I think i might be ready.
Add another year, I'm revisiting it on X360 too (never got Sony consoles past the PS2 and even then I got mine shortly after the Wii came out) currently grinding on Pulse in prevision of this absolute unit!
@topito1994 By letting a character equip his or her ultimate weapon, like Lightning's Omega Weapon or in this case, Fang's Kain's Lance, you earn an extra ATB slot.
@keybladedavid1996 all weapons can be upgraded into an ultimate weapon, but it will take a bit of gil farming. a good video by TheJRPGgamer shows how to make each ultimate weapon.
I have an off topic question. Is it alright if I upgraded some of the characters weapons early in the game? Before ch.10+ ? I mean as long as I focus on their CP does it really matter how upgraded my weapon is? I feel like I kinda screwed up, and I don't want to start over -___-
switch to all sentinels before he stomps, especially if your party leader's beneath the leg that's stomping, then go back to what your doing. it's an instant kill if your under the leg he stomps with. if you think this is hard, wait till you meet the long gui.
not necessary, if you're sufficiently leveled and have a Gaian Ring equipped to each character the stomp shouldn't kill anyone. Agreed on regular 'toises being pushovers compared to Long Gui though!
@catbuffalo Or wait till after you reach the tower beat the boss its not that far away unlock death and use that easy peasy just 2 sabs and a syn call Vans aeon to put him down instantly get rid of it 6 buffs on each 6 debuffs on him = a total of 25% chance of death hitting and repeat death might get lucky might kill you once you also get achievement for over 100,000 damage...plus if done on cei'th stone 63 mission you always get a gold nugget (Genji glove first time) with chance of trap or plat
@KooKookid520 Oh I totally agree, PS3 just holds some crowns over 360 that I miss out on by not owning it, but littler things in the bigger picture like the FFXIII graphics or FFXIII Versus. I do adore my xbox though; Halo, Mass Effect, and Lost Odyssey (to name a few) are all beloved favorite franchises/games of mine.
What accessories do you use, because I was doing this and he does a lot more damage to my characters than he is doing to yours, and i have no damage reducing accessories equipped? Also, it looks like I have about the same amount of health as you do. I am guessing they are items like the gaian ring or imperial armlets or something like that, but I just wanted to know for sure.
@Gothen146 the highest is 999,999 damge right? and for the limit breaker trophy, is there more than one way to get it besides using the g.gloves, cuz i got the trophy by using death on a adamantoise, but idk how much real damage it did.
Do you only have Hope and Vanille together for quick healing? Or some other reason. Cuz I would probably use Lightning as a second ravager. She's a decent medic as well.
@wanderer78 I'm pretty sure it is. They're just a very rare drop. I've beaten Orphan and i've killed about 10 with 2 collector's catalogs and i've only had 3 platinum ingots and no trapezohedrons :/
@BuizeL18 It's just about playing for a longer while, and the PS3/360 arguments are dumb anyway so I'd ignore them if I were you. In any case, I nice username :)
How do you do your Highwind attack from far away, in mine Fang always ends up running towards his leg and attacks it directly. Or am I missing something? Also I am using Glaive maxed out but I have yet to find a freaking Trapezoid delio.
@Nikotiini69 I still don't get why people don't use Sazh method :( It goes faster, even by a little bit, with the reloading/re-building and such of your TP.
You can nail these really quickly without summons, I can manage 2:30 (on a perfect run, mind) with Fang/Light/Vanille and Tier 2 Weapons, its a matter of just perfecting exactly what you do in the fight. No doubt i would be much quicker with Tier 3's, but the flaming things won't drop Traps for me! Argh.
Thank you so very much!!! This helped me out alot. Do do happen to have a video on how to defeat the 2 floating Ceith would you? That would nice if you did.
Impressive fight. I was spending so much time debuffing the feet cuz the stomp kept doing like 10k damage to me. I guess that was because I wasnt lvled enough. Im using a party of Fang, Lightning and Vanille. I dont have Traps for Kami's lance yet. I hope I'm ready.
@musicmaniack256 I got the trophy when the first time I defeat Adamantoise in Eden using the Death trick. I have no whatsoever gloves equipped in my party. I don't know why it didn't work on you
If you have enough HP to live through the fight, what does it matter? You get a full heal at the end of every fight in FFXIII. So any fight you live through is good enough. The goal of farming turtles is to maximize gil or items gained per hour spent. If you can do it without wasting a few seconds buffing, that's a good thing.
Second reply: I hadn't watched the whole video before I replied to you. His technique is sloppy and slow as hell. This is not a good example of a fast turtle smash. So my previous comment, while true in the sense that protect buffs aren't needed, may have been overly defensive of the OP video which is not really fast.
I started playing this in 2009 on the PS3 but never finished it. Now I’m playing it in 2020 on the XB1X and this video helped me out immensely. Thanks 👍🏻
This Adamantoise seemed huge when I first played this game, now it looks so small compared to the one from Final Fantasy XV .
oh baby a tripol ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°) in ffxv is way easer.
just takes more time to beat him.
dan altamirano more time means better risk to die
Adamantoise in FFXV is easy if we have the right equipment and move set. I’ll only take 1-2 minutes to take him down but not that easy for the one in XIII
@@noobdude5933 Ring of the Lucii kills it in 5 minutes and you don't even have to move an inch from the road.
@@TheSuperSaturos My hours of trying to get one to die via the Ring says otherwise...
Just playing this game on pc. Hated it at first but started to fall in love with it after playing it a bit longer
This beast has an excruciating stomp
Brings back good memories of spamming paradigm shift
So much trouble for an overgrown dinosaur, in the old days it would only take us one float to turn him from monster to puppy
Or just hit them with one Manipulate, poison them, and watch them slowly die... :P
Vanish + X-Zone ftw!
This is what I do (non summon) and it takes 2 minutes ...
Fang/Vanille/Hope
1) Syn/Syn/Med
2) Com/Rav/Med

man I kept fricking dying in this so I gave up XD now I wish I could go back and fight them off, great video ! :3
I miss this game. I wish I still had my PS3, so I could boot it up and hunt some turtles.
Oh ya forgot BTW great video, nice to see someone who takes time to play it safe and let people see the actual commands, so we don't have to pause lol
This was very good, not like others where they buff their party before battle, or using a summon. Well played.
@musicmaniack256 The Genji Gloves removes the 99k damage cap on the character that's wearing it, allowing him/her to deal close to 1 million damage.

@PeronMiles Yes. You get warp points that let you go to most areas of the game.
@Baka461 wrong.. gold dust are dropped by adamanchelids, which are the ones that don't have chains around their legs...

just a tip mate, instead of manualy choosing the "spam" attacks, just highlight abilities and hold the right direction pad and then when "repeat" comes up press X. it only works after you manualy choose the comands for the first time.
@jed112
I agree, using Summons or Shrouds is effective but you need to wither keep buying more or regaining back the TP and it gets really annoying, I find it better to just use skills, haha. Plus it feels more rewarding too!
@3FruitsPunch The Death method and Summoning takes longer and death has only a 1% of hitting and it takes a while to fill up the TP afterwards.
@catbuffalo
and btw only Fang got a tier 3 weapon in this vid, cuz Vanille's got Nirvana and Hope's got Nue as their tier 3 weapons
@3FruitsPunch I used death a number of times and it worked. So thanks! The only problem with death is there's only a 1% chance of it sticking. So some of those battles took 15-20 minutes. I believe Sentinel have this passive where
if they are on the field everyone takes half dmg.
@JWPnim Good job bro, you can read descriptions. Or maybe you can't and thats why you are making a comment like this.
I'm wayyy to lazy for this, I will just continue with my Death spam
NO 40,000 originally. He has growth egg which doubles to amount of CP in battles.
Highwind should be used as a finishing move right before a Stagger ends since it resets your chaining progress.
@musicmaniack256 The G gloves reads that you can deal up to 999,999 dmg. Hmm, I used Death on several enemies, yet I didn't get the achievement/trophy until I used Fang's Highwind while she was wearing it.
thanks for the help I never knew highwind was that useful.

@ReleasedProduct And also, it's not a cheat if getting over 99,999 damage in a single hit is a trophy. :3
Thanks! This tatic works really well!
@keybladedavid1996
all weapons can be upgraded into an ultimate weapon, but it will take a bit of gil farming. a good video by TheJRPGgamer shows how to make each ultimate weapon.
@brewerfan347 try using Rapid Growth, Combat Clinic, Assassination, Relentless Assault, Espionage, and Cerberus.
this video helped me out a lot. now im not intimidated of fighting adamantoises! lol
This was the only final fantasy that felt challenging to me
13 was still far more challenging than 15 at least. Hell 13 is tougher than most ff games.

thanks man, this is awesome!
How do you do your Highwind attack from far away, in mine Fang always ends up running towards his leg and attacks it directly. Or am I missing something? Also I am using Glaive maxed out but I have yet to find a freaking Trapezoid delio.
@Nikotiini69 I still don't get why people don't use Sazh method :( It goes faster, even by a little bit, with the reloading/re-building and such of your TP.
how long did u CP farm to get those high stats? & how did u find all of those equipments?
You can nail these really quickly without summons, I can manage 2:30 (on a perfect run, mind) with Fang/Light/Vanille and Tier 2 Weapons, its a matter of just perfecting exactly what you do in the fight. No doubt i would be much quicker with Tier 3's, but the flaming things won't drop Traps for me! Argh.
Thank you so very much!!! This helped me out alot. Do do happen to have a video on how to defeat the 2 floating Ceith would you? That would nice if you did.
@SilentStep64 did u complete all of the Faultwarrens missions yet?
Impressive fight. I was spending so much time debuffing the feet cuz the stomp kept doing like 10k damage to me. I guess that was because I wasnt lvled enough. Im using a party of Fang, Lightning and Vanille. I dont have Traps for Kami's lance yet. I hope I'm ready.
@musicmaniack256 I got the trophy when the first time I defeat Adamantoise in Eden using the Death trick. I have no whatsoever gloves equipped in my party. I don't know why it didn't work on you
which mission or area do you get the genji gloves and what hp should my chars be at for that mission
and the game breathed a sigh of relief at not having to render the dam thing anymore
Why aren't you using any buffs? You're losing way more health than you would if you at least used protect/protectra...
Kaneki Ken I did it without that bullshit for cp
Awesome! Thanks for sharing
does gengi gloves apply only to when ur attacking? or does it raise the dmg cap to 999,999 with magic atks too?
Wow! Those things still one-hit-kill my whole party with a single stomp.
what mission do you get the collectors catalog in? and can you get it again if you redo the mission?
@MrNoctisSkycraper adamantoise/adamantortoise don't all become shao long gui/long gui till after mission 62.
