Doesn't Zunesha follow certain routes? It could have been a cargo animal during the void century, following trade routes between cities until it got liberated by Joyboy. Now, thousands of years later, it still walks between the cities, continually visiting them on its journey.
I don't think it is a coincidence. We know that Little Oars Jr was the third Oars. So maybe the Iron giant has the soul of the original. Onigashima comes to mind.
Body for sure, his horns are different. I do think he has something to do with Oars or the ancient giants, but his horns look more like Skull on Onigashma to me.(Wano was an ally of Joyboy, and likely an ally of Emeth right? What if a former user of Laws fruit put Emeth into the robot body, but his skull was left to become the Skull Dome?) [Also anyone else ever realize the irony of "The Island Mover Oars"? You use oars to row a boat, but this giant named Oars is moving islands. Maybe his nickname was Oars because his name was forgotten to the Void Century, now Emeth has risen to reclaim his real name of truth/Emeth?]
The giant was probably sent 600 years into the future by Toki. That's why it suddenly appeared in Mariejois. They were probably fighting the CD on mariejois during the final battle where Joyboy lost. That would explain why it was active when it appeared 200 years ago. And then it suddenly got cut off from the power source and shut down.
Emet appearing because of Tokis power makes so much sense. Straw hats to Jinbei “is there ruins at the bottom of the ocean?” Jinbei “oh yeah me and my friends used to explore them all the time, they are like a jungle gym to us when I was a kid”.

The Iron Giant added more stress to the Gorosei (or those in charge), thereby assisting that goal of Fishman rights.
I don’t think the oppression started after they won. I think the world was always somewhat oppressive even in Joy Boys time before the war. Because if that’s the case then how did Joy Boy get the warrior of Liberation title, and why did he leave the message for the Fishman saying sorry that he couldn’t take them up… why wasn’t they on the surface to begin with.
A couple thoughts on Toki's powers and the Robot's appearance in Mariejoe: 1) If the robot's appearance was caused by the power of the fruit, then the user who time traveled him, or any possible technology that copied the power of the fruit, had to be in Mariejoe due to the mechanics of how the fruit works (You can only teleport to the same spot you are) 2) The user doesn't have to be Toki. However, if there was a user before Toki, and that user died during the war(spawning the fruit roughly 830 years ago for Toki to eat it), then maybe that user died in Mariejoe and his last effort was sending Emet to the future. And this is plausible because we have seen Emet already damaged on his shoulders and missing a horn when he arrived in Mariejoe. We don't know of anyone who died in Mariejoe but we do have one hint : The giant Straw Hat. And here I have a question... what if Joyboy was similar to Blackbeard and he had two fruits? Nika and Time?
Here is another idea why giant appeared, what if the entire joyboys crew was about to be killed off, so probably toki sent him into future to save his ass, hence the damage on him
The Problem with Toki & Emeth theory is : 1. Toki should know that emeth was powered up by Drums which shouldn't have been active in this place 200 years ago 2. Vegapunk and Jinbei confirm that Emeth looks like it was built about 900 years ago(It is 900 years old), if Emeth leaped into the future by 700 y it would look like it was built 200 y ago(it would be 200 years old)

Now that you mentioned Impel Down... We know there's an extremely fast current that connects Impel Down to what's now G1 (former Marineford) and Enies Lobby. What's in the middle of that current? Probably a massive whirlpool. Probably created around a massive hole created by a series of massive attack from Uranus. Whatever was in the middle of those three islands was really important to the Ancient Kingdom
If the war during the void century was the earth (world) government and the ocean (pirate, merfolk, Fishman, lunarians) alliance. Then maybe once the iron giant reappeared the gorosei were worried about the war restarting and decided to give merfolks rights to prevent them from being allies with the pirates.
The time travel idea for Emeth is really good. What if Zunesha's crime is related to Emeth having been sent to the wrong time? Like deceiving Toki about when the next joyboy would appear.
I mean, wild idea, but what if the previous Awakened user of the fruit was a fishman? Perhaps he scared the Celestial Dragons enough to force them to declare fishmen and merfolk as a people, and not species of animals.
While I do love the theory of it was the because of the Time-Time Fruit sent the Iron Giant Emet into the future I just don’t think it was Toki herself because when we first met her she was 30 years old but what instead it was someone else like maybe her parent who died sending Emet into the future because you would think that maybe sending a giant robot into the future several hundred years would maybe zap a lot of their strength especially during a battle
So the time travel thing is b.s.? But not sending the robot randomly 600 years to the future exactly to Marejois meaning Toki would be in that location and the robot randomly being powered on without JoyBoy
Hey Matt, have you heard Mayan legend about The lost sunken continent Mu? I've just found out about this thing and I think that Oda definitely took inspiration from it
I love the Toki theory, but the monk spade makes me wonder if the Iron Giant could have jumped off of a cloud island( or even the moon) to get on top of the Red Line and that distance is what cut him off from a power source up there in the cloud islands (or the MOON!)
What if she sent Joyboy or Joyboy and the giant into the future so a dying Joyboys fruit could pass on safely and the iron giant either got charged or had enough charge to rampage in Mariejois from Joyboy getting to a safe place to pass and maybe Toki escaped with the fruit?
I think the robot is powered by liberation/freedom itself maybe? The drums of liberation being a source of that power as well as the Fishman rights movement.
Did anyone else give a theory that the void century was actiually called "Void's Century" or the Year of Mu? "No One" sits on the empty throne, emptiness, nothing, void. The Void Century could mark the Years that Mu ruled directly instead of through Gorosei proxies
Idea for what happened: The Ancient Kingdom took all of Imu’s Cola and turned it all into water for everyone to have. Needless to say, Imu didn’t like that.
why would u assume jimbei knows about the ancient cities at the BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN its kinda DARK there and he didnt have to explore that much to look for cities soooo far apart
The drums of liberation power the Iron Giant, but it's likely that the freedom that comes with gear 5 that powers the giant. REMEMBER - Ryogu kingdom was liberated at the SAME point in time, likely their freedom being absorbed as energy to power the Iron Giant. The giant lost power because the fishmen liberation didn't last too long
Joyboy was born 900 years ago but I don't think the war started until later, the void century starting at 900 ago is probably just them wanting to erase anything about Joyboy. And the void century ended with Joyboy's defeat, so Joyboy was at least 100 years old when he lost. It is not hard for, even a human, to reach 100 years old in One piece so it's feasible that Joyboy lived from 900 to 800 years ago. If he was a Giant or a Buccaneer then he could've live for the entire duration of the void century easily. Toki was much younger than him for sure.
Hmmm.... The Iron Giant attacked Mary Geoise 200 years ago, and the Fishmen have been discriminated against up till 200 years ago. Might there be a connection?
Sawyer had a really good theory about how the Iron Robot awoke Most might not like it After Luffy learns more about JoyBoy and his apology to fishman he decides to do something Bonneys find a way to briefly tap into past timeline manipulation and Luffys heart beat temporarily awakens the Iron Giant. (The powers not too broken) Luffy then instructs the Robot to go scare the Gorosei for the fish man on behalf of JoyBoy since he's already gone. One of the places Bonneys she wants to go to is fishman island and a sky island(atop elbaf)
My guess was always that it ran on cola. I was so psyched to see franky and vegapunk study it together, and when Franky puts some Pepsi in it, it starts to light up. I guess the drums of liberation is alright though
You just made me realize that Toki must've watched her city before the time-jump and the next moment, all she sees is water. All that she knows has drowned beneath the waves.
Remember when Usop trolling Zoro in skypea? My theory is Emeth have sound Dials that act like UPS (uninterruptible power supply) that have Nika Heartbeat recorded in it, but after Toki send him it broken by gorosei in fight or it didn't strong enough to last long.
I have a theory that the place brook is from was also friends with joy boy and their charge was to keep joy boys music going, maybe they had a big party with lots of drums of liberation going at once and it sparked the iron giant for a bit.
I really don’t want it to have been someone with Bonney’s fruit that awakened the robot…she’s not the real nika/joyboy, she shouldn’t be able to power him
Actually considering ages ago Oda said that after One Piece he would be doing a one-shot about robots I feel like that one-shot will detail Emmet's rampage
It seems more likely there was a warrior of liberation 200 years ago who helped fish men get free than ‘lol send the robot the the future and then get away from Mary Geoise and then send myself into the future without the robot’. That or possibly a previous user of Enel’s fruit was able to give the giant a few minutes of power before they were killed, as Enel can somewhat duplicate the mother flames power, at least somewhat.
I think the Giant was at the bottom of the redline originally, its mission 800 years ago was to climb and destroy the celestial dragons but lost power and remained underwater until it powered up 200 years ago. I think either there was a Fishman user of the Nika fruit, that managed to get the rights back for the fishman and in their last moments awakened the power (underwater so the elders didnt know it happened). Another take i read was that the fishmen celebrated gaining rights and so Emeth awakened . Last option i heard was time travelling backwards with luffy/bonnie😅
This makes me think... Roger was too early at Laugh Tale. Maybe that's because Toki sent something or someone to the future that's supposed to appear at Laugh Tale, with whatever the Roger pirates found marking when that'll arrive. If not for the devil fruit being in circulation, implying he's dead, I'd imagine it could be Joy Boy himself.
I believe it was on its last charge of battery. It hid at the order of joyboy and waited for hundreds of years, however it ran low on battery and decided to try and destroy joyboys enemies before its time ran out, but it did not make it
11:25 I do. I think Luffy will go back in time and stop Devil Fruits from existing. No idea how, but that's the cool thing about headcanon: everything is possible! c: Regarding the Iron Giant's invasion, I thought it was because of a previous user of the Toshi Toshi no Mi. Ginny was experimented on there, and the fruit ended up in Bonney. Why can't some other enslaved person wish to be the most free, unknowingly becoming Nika. That person was obviously killed immediately, which also means the fruit would reincarnate in Marijoa.
Remember how Tekking made a video about how it's weird the Amatsuki clan even though they were vassals didn't have a region they ruled in Wano? What if they were like the priestly clan and they were in charge of Onigashima (or what it's original name was)
oh yea iron giant also had cuts when he spawned in which means there were clearly technology to destroy the giant back then but noone did so it would make sense that it actually came directly from the past
Considering all the preparations and possible timed events left by the void century and their allies, I think they at least had a rough idea of what's gonna happen in the future, that's why the Roger pirates were too early. Emeth was then probably, either sent by Toki ( or just a user of the Toki Toki no mi ) 600 years into the future if they had something for it to do then or 800 years into the future because that's when the dawn would arrive and something malfunctions causing Emeth to arrive 200 years too early leading to it not being able to do anything too impactfull.
This is better than my best theory involving the PawPaw fruit. Didnt Toki heavily imply that she can see into the future to some extent? She vaguely knew why sending Momo and the retainers to the future was the right time for them to be at. That someone would come to overthrow Kaido.
I feel like emeth was the chopper of the crew and toki was the robin and as they were about to lose she sent him back in the middle of the battle. When he appears it seems like hes already damaged and in final stand mode. It makes sense to send him back if he's powered by gear 5 because they knew the fruit would reincarnate
I just love this Theory because this introduces the possibility of Filler villains to the anime. Like after the time jump the escaped Impel Down convicts were the fad for filler Arcs. Now boom Ancient Army Toki fought face off against the Straw Hats!
He got sent forward into that point in the future but because there was no Nika user to activate the drum of liberation to power him he ended up shutting down. Now he is powering back up because Luffy has the drums going
I would be more inclined to believe that a previous user of the Toki-Toki no Mi fruit that allied with the WG battled Joyboy on the redline threw the giant in the future. because there is some type of symbiosis between the Giant and Joyboy. maybe that's why Joyboy failed to dismantle the WG. Because if it runs on the fruits energy and they are separated what use does the IG even have at that point.

1) If the robot's appearance was caused by the power of the fruit, then the user who time traveled him, or any possible technology that copied the power of the fruit, had to be in Mariejoe due to the mechanics of how the fruit works (You can only teleport to the same spot you are)

The time travel idea for Emeth is really good. What if Zunesha's crime is related to Emeth having been sent to the wrong time? Like deceiving Toki about when the next joyboy would appear.
It might be bold of me, but I predict that it involved water.
I always thought the gaint was telling luffy its time with that mental link that luffy has. He used it to call the law pirates in the submarine.
Toki sent the Iron Giant from the void century.
Thank you for a great video guys
26:37 I need fanart of this and the Aqua Teens being Gorosei IMMEDIATELY
It's simple Tekking, the Giant runs on the power of Joy
Good job Exodia, you are now also Emet
JOYBOY's got what Iron Giants crave: It's got electrolytes!
Well in Japanese it's kuuhaku (blank, gap) no rekishi (history).
When I heard his name was "Emeth", me who like FF14 got very excited, lmao. And I love the interesting similarities between Emeth and Emet.
Idea for what happened:
The Ancient Kingdom took all of Imu’s Cola and turned it all into water for everyone to have. Needless to say, Imu didn’t like that.
why would u assume jimbei knows about the ancient cities at the BOTTOM OF THE OCEAN its kinda DARK there
and he didnt have to explore that much to look for cities soooo far apart
The drums of liberation power the Iron Giant, but it's likely that the freedom that comes with gear 5 that powers the giant. REMEMBER - Ryogu kingdom was liberated at the SAME point in time, likely their freedom being absorbed as energy to power the Iron Giant. The giant lost power because the fishmen liberation didn't last too long
I think the giant woke up 200 years ago cause he wanted to throw some hands cause he got bored, but then he short circuited and went back to bed
Can't believe you made a Dora D. Explora reference
Glad I stayed for the whole video to hear the Carl joke. Aqua Teen is legendary
Hmmm.... The Iron Giant attacked Mary Geoise 200 years ago, and the Fishmen have been discriminated against up till 200 years ago. Might there be a connection?
Sawyer had a really good theory about how the Iron Robot awoke
Most might not like it
After Luffy learns more about JoyBoy and his apology to fishman he decides to do something
Bonneys find a way to briefly tap into past timeline manipulation and Luffys heart beat temporarily awakens the Iron Giant. (The powers not too broken)
Luffy then instructs the Robot to go scare the Gorosei for the fish man on behalf of JoyBoy since he's already gone.
Just grab a toaster as a stand-in for the iron giant next time 😁
You just made me realize that Toki must've watched her city before the time-jump and the next moment, all she sees is water.
The thought of the Iron Giant popping out of nowhere like the Colossal Titan is hilarious to me.
14:02 audio error
The robot reminds me of that Simpsons gag where Charles Bronson guest stars on the Andy Griffith show where he goes down to fix Emmet with his gun
It hid at the order of joyboy and waited for hundreds of years, however it ran low on battery and decided to try and destroy joyboys enemies before its time ran out, but it did not make it
I *hope* Oda gives Joyboy such a regular name. Like he was just some guy that was funny, really knew how to lift your spirits.
11:25 I do. I think Luffy will go back in time and stop Devil Fruits from existing. No idea how, but that's the cool thing about headcanon: everything is possible! c:
Regarding the Iron Giant's invasion, I thought it was because of a previous user of the Toshi Toshi no Mi.
23:02 it's a monument or HQ built for JoyBoy so they turned it into a prison 😊
Yes, i was thinking "appeared out of nowhere, huh? Could have been Toki's power"
What if the plan is send the gaint to the future and told wait for the next joyboy and help him do the plan
This is better than my best theory involving the PawPaw fruit. Didnt Toki heavily imply that she can see into the future to some extent? She vaguely knew why sending Momo and the retainers to the future was the right time for them to be at. That someone would come to overthrow Kaido.
The person 200 years ago was the first person Saturn was extracting the power from for his later experiments on Bonney.
GOAT intro
I feel like emeth was the chopper of the crew and toki was the robin and as they were about to lose she sent him back in the middle of the battle. When he appears it seems like hes already damaged and in final stand mode. It makes sense to send him back if he's powered by gear 5 because they knew the fruit would reincarnate
We will have to wait and see.
Because if it runs on the fruits energy and they are separated what use does the IG even have at that point.
i think this is the stranges intro you made. good video
